Ugh no time to cuop! Submitted 4 of 10 pages due for the essay to the peer review thread... have until Sunday to turn in completed essay. Quess I know what I'll be doing the rest of the week. Have to run d2s and get out the door to work.

Oooh, Lilac, I hope your DD & family all get better and you haven't caught their bug.

I am having the best luck with DGD. She fell asleep on the couch after lunch, watching cartoons, and I carried her in to one of the guest beds, put a couple pillows on each side and she went right back to sleep. It's been an hour 1/2 already. Naps are hit-or-miss at her own home, sometimes they have to put her into the car to get her asleep so they can catch a break. Potty training didn't work very well. I don't think she's ready. She spends too much time at babysitters in diapers. 1 step forward, 2 backward.

Got the desk caught up, extra stuff for DH done, kitchen cleaned up; that beside doing dog & baby chores, that's it so far. But yesterday I got whole house finished including the floors, so not too terribly behind. And for the first time in months I didn't feel like I absolutely had to go to sleep this afternoon. I'm holding my breath and crossing my fingers that this medicine has made this much difference so soon.

I am seeming to remember a navy cloth 'toiletry' bag that airlines sometimes gave out (from when dh traveled a lot). Almost think I remember having some things in one -but where that bag is, is the question. I will either come across it in my packing or I won't -have three weeks to 'happen' on it. I now know some places that 'missing' pieces AREN'T. I may have just left it in one traveling bag or another. But it almost seems as though I saw that necklace this summer. That brings me to a thought to go over to dd's and pick up our 2nd traveling suitcase -a small one.

Got bins all sorted and am down to 1 bin to take south with check books, stamps, computer stuff. Dh even commented this noon "you seem to be quite organized". Alright!

We're going about 20 miles or so southwest of here in about an hour for dh to winterize a camper. May stop on our way back for a bite, fill up the gas tank and check the mail. Was going to go do the last 2 earlier when I realized we'd be going right past both of them in a few hours -so decided to save the gas.

We found out that the funeral home needed to have an appt with the family at 2:00 so HRH switched his schedule a little and came home, working upstairs at his computer. That let me take off on my travel-plan early and I got everything done except the in-town errand, which can wait. At the Tarjay checkout line I had the items for the basket packed in it to judge for size, and the cashier loved the idea and said she was going to use it herself sometime.

Back here, I re-packed the natural, handled basket I'd found to hold 4 matching items with simple blue-green border design: paper plates, bowls, dessert plates and plastic cups. I added large white napkins, small green solid napkins that worked with the others, white utensils and a blue-green card with white bow affixed. I was able to get the basket to Aunt's home by 1:10, well ahead of anyone's deadline, but happily after the arrival of several cousins from a distance, whom it was wonderful to see. I was only worried about dcousinMary, who looks more drawn, thin and weary than I've ever seen her. She had told me last time we talked that it had been especially hard on her, since dear aunt had lost all use of her legs.

After school run dd and I got back into town and so my 5x5 is done. Just thought as I approached the stop light to leave town, though, how nice it would have been to have dropped in to the fabric store right there as I do have a couple thoughts... ... Sigh.

ellyphant, somehow I'd gotten the idea dh went with you. Glad you are home safe.

C cards arrived correct and well-packaged so there is a little happy dance here - this makes me content. The box will be fine for adding other items as they arrive. New email says labels are in state now. My, such efficiency.

It did dawn on me with a death in the family that there are pitfalls with getting cards ready early. Convinced it is worth it to try, though. Thinking - now what do I do, send to each of dear aunt's 4 children's homes.....? Perhaps so. I want our families to stay in touch in the future so now is not the time to drop the ball on correspondence.

Dh and I loaded the new car with all the stuff from the old car. Most everything fit. We took out the 1994 street guide book to Toronto. The new car, and my computer, have GPS so I should be fine without it. Also managed to pull a few maps.

Still have to make up the 'car book'. In this we record all our gas purchases and mileage and also keep track of all maintenance and servicing. It is handy to have this all in one place, if only to settle disputes over the price of gas a year ago! I bought a new notebook for the new car but it is a bit big so I'm debating waiting until tomorrow and hopefully finding a smaller one.

Back from town. DMom test went well. DGS17 wanted to hang with us while we were in town and immediately accepted the offer to come back with us so he could visit with his Great Grandpa. Before we left town, I called and ordered our favorite pizzas and picked them up so both homes have plenty of food for the next few hours. I left DGS17 at DParents home and will go later to get him & take him back to town.

I left the house without doing any dailies and it looked bad (nothing done to it this morning). I arrived home to completely picked up house! Everything is in its place. Dishwasher running. Dryer running. Washer running. DH sure does know my love language.

Good afternoon---we're having a beautiful day here; temp is 85*, not a cloud in the sky. Sunset is noticeably earlier nowadays - 7:05 pm today.

Harriet, I was sorry to read of the passing of your daunt.
OKay, I hope LO's cough is better. So glad you were not involved in that horrible accident. However, thoughts and prayers for the woman's family!

I did not know about CEO's new book; will have to look it up.

Most of my weekly chores are done early for this week. Dh had an AARP nurse visit yesterday afternoon, so I went ahead and added weekly cleaning to routine yesterday morning instead of waiting for today and tomorrow. Kinda nice to have it done now! Yesterday was also soc. sec. payday for us and dh wanted to go out for supper, so we braved the rush hour traffic and went to one of our favorite eaterys that has good home cooked meals very reasonably priced.

I watched weather channel for a few minutes earlier today and saw the hot air balloon fest in Albuquerque. It is really an awesome sight both from the ground and from the air.

Harriet, glad you got to visit with your distant relatives for a little while. Basket items is such a good idea! ((Hugs)) for dcousin Mary! HRH is a wonderful man.

OKay, your dh is wonderful also! So nice that he automatically took over and helped with your routine. It was good that dgs17 got to visit with dggparents.

Dd2 is married to a prince of a man. He is truly a partner and has her back. He came in from the farm to pick up the boys from school. I ended up running over and getting them, since they (the teachers) recognize me. Dd2 had promised the boys that they could go to T arget today. I told them they needed to wait. When they didn't act happy with that, dsonil told them he would take them before they picked up the girls because he wasn't taking 4 kids to T arget. After T arget they were picking the girls up, getting a snack and going by the shop to see if they needed anything. Then they were going home for the night. I called dd2 after they left here and we were talking about him. She said he just offered to do this. She said that sometimes she doesn't appreciate him like she should. I told him that I needed her to train me and he said he needed trained also. I think that man would do anything for her and those kids.

Dd2 is really upset over the newspaper article. She is positive she will look bad in the picture and that she will sound stupid. I am hoping she is wrong.

Hi everyone! Unpaid payroll is almost over. I heard back from one company, they have decided to cancel the job they advertised. I will look at 3 more companies tonight. Normally, Thursday is art class day, but I am not going. I have not gotten what I need done for the next project (I need to print out pictures of a 1961 Comet). I didn't get the pictures because I was originally going to use tonight to purchase and pack stuff for the weekend's camping trip. The trip has been cancelled and DD10 wants to spend the whole weekend with her dad, because she had the whole weekend with me last weekend. I had dinner at church last night and passed out some party invitations. One couple said they don't 'do' Halloween, the rest seemed interested. This weekend I will try to get the crate covers done and see if my orange and red yarn will work for my next crochet pattern. Tonight I also have to figure out tomorrow's lunch. I delivered a party invitation to the beautician in our building and got my bangs cut too.

Some good news: my friend whose surgery was postponed had her tumor removed and it is NOT cancer.
