Dee, I forgot to say...maybe the downtown aquarium will be open then in Gatlinburg. I haven't been there, but DCousin took her grandkids there and it looked great. I want to go next time we're in that neck of the woods!

Funny you said that, Elly. I've been thinking a lot about going to Lancaster and take in the show at the Sight & Sound theater. BUT, I did not want to drive from there through Baltimore/Washington. BTDT and I DID NOT LIKE IT! (Sometimes went to FL to visit with DShelley & dgks after we'd been for dgs's eye check ups in Philadelphia.) But I just kept putting things into map quest and found more of a 'back way' from there over to Hagerstown, MD. That'll work and I think dh will be happy. Even know where we can stay there.

I guess my Monday Mayhem is that I did not write my PODA, but I did write PODA on a list pad. It's blank though. I didn't write a to do list either, but I've got my cards set out to go by. I'll try to get better organized after breakfast, a shower, etc...

-work a little more on Hebrew? Or just work on my teaching. These two things are my main focus for the day. I don't even have to cook -- just leftovers tonight. I'll jog and go to the groc. store tomorrow.

Almost caught up. Taking a lunch break now. One thing I am ahead on is steps, so I guess I've earned the break! (That, and I'm hungry! )

Have 10/27 cards done now. Wash is flipped. I spent a little bit of time tidying in the playroom, but the girls are not in my good graces: the blanket that normally covers the daybed was jammed into the storage hassock that is supposed to hold the dress-up clothes, and the dress-up clothes were strewn all over the floor. Plus, there were dirty dishes from last night's Chinese takeout. I straightened the daybed and took the dishes to the kitchen -- the girls will have to do the rest when they get home!

While I'm having lunch, I should fold and address beach club flyers I need to deliver for what I hope is the last event of the year: a Halloween party. Delivering the flyers seems like a much more onerous task since I was told at the beginning of the year that I wouldn't have to deliver any flyers past the first two. The plan was that once everyone was enrolled in the beach club this year (the first two flyers being about annual enrollment and the season opening event), information about events would go out via e-mail and a website. However, I guess that didn't work out, so I'm back to delivering flyers. That'll be my walk for the day, which is how I let myself be talked into being street captain in the first place.

["Beach club": In my part of the Cleveland area, as well as others like it, one selling point when these were new developments back in the 1920s was that though the houses were not, for the most part, on beachfront property, many of the developments had a small park on the lake shore so that residents have beach access. (Not that there's much of a beach these days; my DM blames that on the St. Lawrence Seaway, but I'm sure there are other reasons for the erosion as well.) Living in a particular allotment allows you membership in that neighborhood's beach club, but it's not automatic, at least for most; you must still purchase your membership each year. Amenities and membership costs vary. Ours is well under $100 a season, and we have about a half-acre park with a small beach, a playground, a pavilion, a bocce court and basketball hoops, and a garage-like "clubhouse" that serves mostly to provide kitchen and restroom facilities. There are some that are maybe a tenth of an acre and consist primarily of a swing set, a couple of picnic tables, and steps down to the beach, and there's one that has a playground, a large picnic area, and a three-story clubhouse that includes a ballroom -- and changing/shower rooms for the swimming pool (as if beach access weren't enough)! Its fees are upwards of $200/year -- gotta hire lifeguards, you know!]

Got the clocks done, except the cuckoo clock but there's a timer to tell me to start it.

Also watered the inside plants. That took ages because I decided to do repotting too. They look better but I sure made a huge mess in the kitchen with dirt and dead matter everywhere. That is cleaned up too.

I'm getting tired now but won't be able to sleep well - they are trimming my hedge today and it will keep me awake like the mowing did on Friday. Sigh....

I've added 15 minutes in the gardens to my PODA for the next 9 days. Hopefully that will be enough to make enough progress for winter.

Decided to save the stew for tomorrow night and had a grilled cheese and bacon sandwich instead. Curses on one of dd's friends who was singing the praises of bacon this morning on Facebook!

Mystery, no I will not really be behind if I don't go to class tonight. I'll just need to find out where they got to in the translation and start working there for the following week. We're translating Exodus (Shemot). I think I will go to class -- with however much Hebrew translation I get done.

Yes, we have an English text, several different versions, in fact, but they don't necessarily follow the Hebrew with precision, for a variety of reasons. It really is different to read OT texts in Hebrew!! I would kind of like to do Greek and do the same with the NT, but the time does not feel right - yet.

Good morning everyone! Last night I got everything done I needed to except for getting to bed early. That is always the hardest. This morning I realized I have now lost BOTH my timers!!! I really need them and have no clue where they have gone off to. My purse broke and I had to transfer to another this morning. I have much to put on my calendar. I left my lidded cup at home drat it! I have already sent a difficult email.

Last night, I looked up on Ravelry a pattern I am having trouble with. Apparently, I am the only one with problems. I simply cannot get the gauge even close! I am too short on the columns and too long on the rows! I did get to see multiple examples of the sweater done marvelously, but found nothing that would help me get it done. I have taken the yarn I bought for that sweater and am using it on a sweater whose gauge came out perfectly. However, I really like the first sweater better. Frustrating.

Hubby's work is in a very low area and they deal with this whenever it rains I guess h. was happy to have the work some is better than none he said as he rounded up rain gear. Sun is out now the day is shaping up to be nice after all. Back from my walk.

I sorted some stuff in the carport put away a few more things.
Granny duty was delayed worked out great for my ex.

I called on some younger hens h. was okay w/ me getting. A barn yd. mix that lay the darker eggs supposedly anyway. I wish the grass would come up already so I could let them out a bit for bugs and such. Told h. no more weed killer in the back yard. Decided that we might as well be feeding ones that will be laying in the summer. Others might be going in freezer camp. to make room but knew that when we got 'em even though they are nice hens. ~sigh~ part of the farming back ground and we like chicken best of all I think.
