Elizabeth: Glad you got the photos back.
I'm up from my nap. Took 2 hours today and slept almost a whole hour of it. Over lunch, I got my devotions done, so I can cross another item off my to-do list. I'm still 12 days behind on them but slowly catching up (last week this time I was 22 days behind.)
Next challenge might be vacuuming if I can motivate myself to get at it.

Re: Triumphant Thursday
Oh, Elizabeth, I'm so glad something good happened for you today!
I have dealt with the ugly email on all fronts and feel better. Also the temple bulletin issue was somewhat rectified - at least this person made an effort to make it better. Not a particularly productive day here at work - I did knock off about 45 minutes ago and did some temple letters using the printer here. Last night when I went to do them, the printer cartridge was empty empty. I had bought a new one already, but not the correct cartridge.
I am heading home....there is a program at temple tonight but I am skipping it.

Re: Triumphant Thursday
I am so frustrated - I was interrupted and this sat for hours.
((Elizabeth)) first, many hopes to you for help at camera place. Second, think of ways to celebrate the photos from others' cameras. Take responsibility for enlarging favorites among those, even matting and/or framing if appropriate, for gifts to your cruise friends. Use the resources of online photo places to create mugs or some other permanent-ish gifty items as mementos. Third, remember they didn't want you there for your camera, but for your companionship and because they like you so much.
Cards night - all the organizing done (master card list made, 3x5 cards pulled from my address cardfile box and matched up to it). Nearly all the cards addressed except the change-over to make my cousins the receivers of cards now that dear aunt has died - will have to research on 1 of those. That has become a task that has happened all too often in recent years. Then, all those cards were refiled. This took about 2 hours - interesting. I've told HRH that his part of the work is "up" (signing - he has the beautiful handwriting in the family) but he's been clear that he's not doing them all at once. I get that. Dd might have the address labels and stamps accomplished today, too.

Re: Triumphant Thursday
Good Later Afternoon, Ladies!
MY "Triumphant Thursday" is that I got a red lesion (the size of a pencil eraser) removed from my pallet by an oral pathologist today, which is being sent to pathology at the University's Medical Center pathology dept. to be examined for cancer or early cancer cells. I got through everything fine, except it took an awful long time for stitches to be sewn. My nurse said, "He gave you several running stitches, too."
She was such a love. More in J & C's.
Harriet, Sorry you got interrupted and it sat for hours. :(I hate frustrating things.
Elizabeth, Now you got photos back, I wonder if you've ever seen a memory box?
I heard that a photo is placed in a framed deep box, about 1 1/2" or 2" deep, then pieces of a wedding dress, a medal from a soldier, etc. can be added and arranged to make a memory box for a wedding anniversary or wedding. I'm glad a good thing happened for you!
Twins' Mom, Sorry about having to deal with ugly email. I'm glad the temple bulletin issue was somewhat rectified. It's good there was effort to make it better. It's hard to be productive every single day, at home and at work. Life happens.
It's infuriating sometimes.
Kathryn, I'm glad you got your nap. You sound like you're getting motivated.
I got a nap in this morning before surgery, since I didn't sleep well last night and only had gotten 7 hours and felt too tired.
OKay, I'm glad you're making progress today and have done so much! It sounds like you're getting there.
It's such a sweet picture, in my mind, of seeing you and LO curled up under a tree reading.
Thanks for sharing it!
Helia, I'm glad the retreat was helpful to a lot of you.
Cowinkie,, You're so lucky to have Springsteen and Bon Jovy there in town. I heard on TV this morning that a lot are getting together to do a storm concert on NBC, I believe the channel was. Nice guys to do this for charity for so many in need!
I know I didn't wave to or mention everybody while cuop, but I'm on pain pills and am getting ready to go sit awhile and crochet and then I'll read awhile. I wanted to report how DH dusted the bedroom, great room, the eating bar shelves yesterday for me. He's tending a nice warm fireplace insert fire, too.
He's my rock. Don't know what I'd do without him.
Have a Triumphant Thursday later afternoon and evening.

Re: Triumphant Thursday
I'm glad it's evening now and time to relax. Today was kind of disjointed; started out gloomy with lots of cloud cover. I fought the urge to turn on a few lamps! Small triumph is we had sunshine this afternoon.
We ended up with 54 T or T'ers last night. We have the equivalent of one full bag of candy left, will probably dole it out to dgkids.
It's good to hear Dee & dh are on their way safely.
Happy Anniversary to Bittersweet & Dh!
*** Harmony, sorry to hear about the neighbor whose house burned.
*** MT, I'm sorry for the friend who lost her dh.
*** Cowinkie, thank you for directions to the link. My heart goes out to your community.
*** Elizabeth, I'm glad you're boss was able to recover those pictures for you.
*** Harriet, wtg on getting the major part of your cards done. I've never had cards done this early!
Sometimes I don't understand how just two people can mess up a kitchen and dining room so many times a day! Every time I get it straightened up dh finds another cookie recipe to try!
Ddil#1 called. The dgkids are feeling better after a touch of the flu? or something, earlier this week, so they will be down on Sat. I'm ready for Conga Friday to begin!!!
Hello to everyone not named personally! I do talk to all in my head while cuop!

Re: Triumphant Thursday
The heavy housework is done for the day, paperwork type things were jettisoned.
While dh was picking up his dinner, I got the main floor vacuumed and the recycle cans crushed and ready to go to the curb tomorrow night. Tonight is paper and compost and that's about half ready to go out. Dinner was rushed because we didn't sit to eat until 7 and he had a friend coming over at 7:30.
I had forgotten the friend was coming here, so that meant my damp mopping was delayed and it ran into Big Bang Theory time. I ended up recording it and mopping while it was on, watching it after.
Now all that is left for the day is to work on church stuff and update Quicken.

Re: Triumphant Thursday
Hello!
I must go back and see how I worded the story about the lady whose house burned down from her Halloween decorations. Fortunately this was not a neighbor, but a family in a neighboring town, about an hour away from me. Still, a sad story.
Hugs for (Twins) and (Ivy) quick healing for you.
Elizabeth
yay got your pics back!
OKay, how do you do your spreadsheet? Is it printed out? Or do you just use it in the computer and mark off squares? I love spreadsheets, but my system is much simpler than that.
I was up into the wee hours of the morning, still working on my paperwork backlog. I don't know how it got into such a mess in just a few short days. I know I had my bank account a bit of a mess with lots of missing information, and only one of those things was my fault. I have problems getting all the information daily from DH...but lots of thinking, etc. solved those problems. ("Oh, who mounted the tires on the truck the other day...DH: oh yeah he didn't give me a receipt for the $25") that's the kind of stuff I had to deal with..
But it's all fixed now. And this morning I did one big project, got it in the mail at post office along with a package. Slept for 2 1/2 hours after all that this afternoon. I guess I'm not 100% yet. But I'm counting all that as my triumph, and it's such a nice feeling to be caught up again!

Re: Triumphant Thursday
Happy anniversary to bsweet & dh!!!
I am sooo tired. I stayed up past 1:00 a.m. last night! Stupid.
And dh is sooo irritable. He doesn't feel well...I was later getting home than he expected... which meant we didn't eat at the seafood restaurant he wanted to... (could have, but then he would have missed radio program he wanted to listen to)... dbil has him in limbo re: whether or not dbil will be using the condo next Friday night... he's depressed b/c ds schedule has changed so much... he's just grumpy grumpy grumpy tonight.
I am just sleepy.
I simply MUST grade one set of papers TONIGHT. * at least *
However... I also think I simply MUST take a short nap if I am going to be able to function well enough to grade.
An endless cycle.
