Good Afternoon, Villagers! I'm running late today because I was freezing in bed late last night, too lazy to get an extra blanket, so was awake until 1 a.m. and got up at 9:30 a.m.
I called and emailed Ddil and Dson, to see how Ddil and the baby girl she's carrying are doing. They had an extensive ultrasound Fri., the baby's doing great, but the Hickman Device into the breast to feed the baby started leaking, so they put a new I. V. into Ddil's chest instead. I keep them in my prayers and also post at J & C, too.
To Do/Ta Da: Had coffee, breakfast, meds/supplements Had a late shower, but better later than never, I guess. Contacted Ddil/Dson to get an update on the baby and mommy. Crocheted on the last afghan. Might finish it today! Caught up with emails, obits, etc... Prayed
Need to write a check
Need to add a med change to my med list
Need to read, set up card-making, and make 2 cards for 2 people.
Will continue to crochet.
Plan on feeding Bert & Ernie.
Will set my dawn simulator for earlier because I need to get up earlier this week.

MT, Russian Tea sounds good, which reminds me, I have a novel, "The Last Romanoff" on my Nook to read, plus another book taking place in Siberia, which I'm on chapter 2 now.

I'm back (I think). Internet here has been spotty for whatever reason. Keep forgetting I can at least go on my iphone to post, if only to say I'm ok. Need to catch up here. Been a lazy day ever since church. I read, dozed, then read. Haven't done a thing so feel very unproductive.
Tomorrow dh is going to school with dd for the day. gd14 is home (no school for her school). Promised I'd take her to lunch. I probably need to go do small thread for me at least in MO. Perhaps in a day or so when I can collect my thoughts.
Think I'll go see what I can do to help dd with supper.
We had a good time at IL's soup supper last night. Smaller crowd, so we missed seeing a lot of the family, but fewer people also means easier to have conversations because of lower noise level. DMIL was in a really good mood.
It started pouring rain early this morning and just stopped a little while ago. We are a cold and soggy mess. Yesterday was almost summer temps, we were outside in shirtsleeves. We went out for lunch today with light jackets, and the temperature dropped enough while we were in the diner that we realized it will be winter coats from now on.
I love the holiday decorations that come out this time of year. The glorious colors of harvest festivals and Christmas/Yule celebrations combat the dark and gloomy days.
I'm down for a rest now while we see about dinner.
The walk turned out to be 4.4 miles over 90 minutes, not the hour long walk I had envisioned. I had looked at the route on google but kept forgetting to measure the distance. Had I known, I would have known it was too far and changed our goal but once I was on the way, I hated to give up seeing the lake so we kept going. The way back was a rush in order to get back to the hotel in time to change for the funeral.
I had a 20 minute rest/cool down and then dressed for the funeral. Had to change bras because my regular one didn't dry out in time (but my panties did.) I was literally soaking wet when we got back from the walk because it was so much warmer than we anticipated. Walking in sunlight, 68* in black jeans and a dark turtleneck was a poor plan.
The funeral was very nice. Our friend's wife was a poet. And also a nurse who specialized in hospice care. She had put her life into nursing in order to support herself and later her husband in the early part of his career but they had met when they were both at university taking writing courses because they both wanted to write. She did, including many books on hospice care but not all the creative writing that she had wanted to do. To have her die so young, just when she was getting ready to retire and indulge her creative side is a shame.
We ran into another friend from the industry and visited with him as well as with members of the community here. I've been following what our friends have been doing with sustainability projects here so was aware of some of the projects people we met were talking about.
At the reception I was doing fine then realized the room was closing in. It still took about 20 minutes to leave and we are waiting a call to join the family for the dinner after the reception is over. At that point, I'll figure out if I can manage to leave the bed or not. I'm not sleepy but the weariness is setting in now.
Edited to add: We'll meet them for dinner in 20 minutes. I'll shut my eyes for a few minutes first but don't expect to sleep. I have been down for an hour so that will have to be enough.
Didn't really sleep but dozed for an hour, still tired but at least the headache has subsided.
Ok, I lost the bet DS13 got the trash out & to the street, Agnes is loaded and running, and cleaned the cat box. He has flipped B&E and is now he folding the latest LOL.
Need to go start the inventory and figure out something for dinner. Don't think I am going to get to my essay today... I have till the 20th to get it done, but do have to review a peers essay before bed.

I addressed 3 letters, have 1 to address yet, their envelopes are stamped with the return address labels on with their letters to answer and fresh paper for me to answer back on. Tomorrow, at this point, I say. I delicate washed a sweater set, which lies flat to dry, so it's on towels on the wooden drying rack and the velour suit's still drying. Have washing going, too. I tidied up the art/table desk in the main office and crocheted awhile on the afghan. I forgot that I'll be watching, "They Call Me Mrs. Miracle" tonight on Hallmark HD, so I'll crochet then.
I need to do housework, but think I'll write a list for that and start in tomorrow. My day today doesn't seem very productive.

Oh, Kathryn, I can 'hear' the weariness in your typing. Do take care. I had sort of forgotten you were heading to Ithaca this weekend. Cayuga Lake is pretty. We've been to that end of the lake several times over the years. DH's family used to have a lot of picnics there. I can remember one family reunion there when was just about 4 months old.
Have finished dinner and had way too much to eat today. Last night we ate early. I got up at 4:30 with BS at 62 and drank some juice. BS was up to 78 by the time I got up at 7 or so.
Been looking for info I wrote down before we left on internet 'seasonal' status. They were supposed to turn it off on Oct. 30th. Just got a bill today for Nov-Dec for the same amount as usual. Finally found the notebook with info so I have it when I call them. It's supposed to be $5/month until April 30th. I'm confused at this point.
