No time to CUOP because I'm busy getting dinner ready (just frozen individual servings meals) and putting away things from our trip.
Had fun shopping. Didn't make it to the neat kitchen store but had a good time going through three shops in a little mall next to our hotel. We always go to the Moosewood Cafe when we are in Ithaca. It is in an old school. What I hadn't realized is that the rest of the school is actually a mall of little shops. I got the percussion instrument I was looking for (just an egg shaker) and dh got a foot tambourine. In a second hand shop next to it, I found 3 crosses and 3 pairs of earrings for me - all in $25.
We were out of time at the hotel so left and headed home, stopping at the border for gas and a Walmart run. Last year I had not bought enough of the snowflake decorations for the balcony so this year I bought another string of them. Plus a set of whilte mini lights, just in case, and then remembered we needed new garlands for the tree so bought a ton of those. As I recall, mine are 2x25' and 1x30' (and were bought in the 1980's.) Nowadays they are only 15' long so I bought 90' and hope it is enough (and that I didn't buy any last year after Christmas.)
We are home and the groceries are put away. We have choir in an hour and our dinner is almost done. I'm exhausted, although I did rest for an hour in the car.

I have made up chicken mush dgd had to come with me and help feed it to them

we put that in the pen so they can eat it in the morning that I do not feel bad if I do not get out there first thing they still have some thing to eat.
Dgd & I are wearing bd party hats! Her bday is this month.
I have hung up about half of the things I wanted to put up so making progress on that is great. I found the timer for plug in and put some lights in that to see about getting it set for the chickens after the first of the year. For now I have a wreath with Christmas lights on it for fun. Glad I got that hung up by the plug in.
Our bed is made and trash is dumped now I moved the small coffee pot in to the master bedroom. I did the dishes and got part of the kitchen counters spiffed up again so it's looking better but could use more attn. It's been spitting rain off and on all day today.
I need to get going on some laundry this evening.
I was sort of bummed when we did not get a TV at the thrift shop for the basement they had one but it had not been tested out sigh you think they could at least plug it in. I guess we could have but were a bit short on time.
I did a bit of cooking ahead so there is a plan in action for dinner!

Hello dear ladies,
I joined Lisa and climbed back on the wagon today.
Got all the dailies done but one.
Got a very good start on the weeklies.
Haven't looked at them in awhile and it felt good checking them off.
Day started out cool, in the 20's but warmed up to the 50's when I took my walk. DH and his dog walked with me for a bit too. Shaved a few minutes off my mile walk.
going to read a bit for reward.
Great day to all!

Yeah, I need to climb back into the saddle again with my routines, too.
Today was CPE (continuing professional education) in Atlanta. Left here at 5:45, home at 6:30ish. I am worn out, sick of tiered partnerships, series LLCs and related corporations, too.
I need to walk ddogs - had a slice of pizza and some cheese and crackers for my supper. I suspect I'll turn in early as I slept poorly last night with the early wake up call.
Dh will be home tomorrow evening after the temple exec committee meeting.
I feel like I work pretty hard most weeks and never seem to get to where I want to be - with the house, and temple/volunteer work. I just can't keep up.
Going to change shoes and take ddogs out.

Not much going on here. Am mentally exhausted from getting a story off on Sat. and another one on Sun., but managed to write 2 letters today. Been working on my calendar for the rest of the month, so I'm organized on what to do for writing and cleaning house before Thanksgiving. I'm so tired today. Have 2 appt.'s this week to be ready for. Am a bit concerned about the 1 especially concerning the eye thing. Have hand-printed an index card, very tidily for the eye specialist to read and answer pertinent questions, so I'm not left in the dark so much imagining the worst. I want to hear it from the horse's mouth and not just by my own research on-line.
DH took a drive in his small truck today, to re-charge his battery from lack of driving it. It did fine. He's trying to avoid buying a new battery right now.
He's watching "Midway" this afternoon. Can you believe my Dmom took us little kids to the drive-in movie, by herself, without ddad, to see Midway? She told us to go play on the playground in front of the drive-in screen if we didn't like the movie. At least dmom had some self time to herself while she enjoyed the movie without us 4 kids.
I never thought of it that way, but now, looking back, it makes better sense. However, I recall when she did the same thing, when she took us to see "Hud".
Us kids thought it was mushy and talky-talky too much. We didn't like it, but dmom sure did. It's funny that DH's "Midway" brought up these odd little memories. I'm tired today, so I'm rambling. Sorry about that. At least it's entertaining and "different".
It's warmer today, rains on and off, but not much. We had a very stormy night last night and a plastic patio chair blew about 6 feet until it his the base of the bird feeder.
I saw someone, here, with an apron avatar, which is like the kind of apron I'd love to sew for myself.
So cute!
I need to go look at my index cards in my folder control journal to see how I'm doing on my routines now. I'm trying to make that more of a habit, but it's one I'm failing at. Keep making the daily to do list though and occasional PODA and ta da though. Those count for something, too. TTFN.
Have a good later afternoon and evening.

Having CUOP yet, but I plan to ASAP (using it as a reward after I complete evening cards)
We kept LO home from school today. He has kept food down and not run fever for 24 hours so I think he has recovered enough to go tomorrow.
This afternoon I went for my yearly checkup with family doc. He confirmed my decision with mammogram findings. He did scheduled me for another ultrasound on april 30, 2013 to make sure it gets followed up on. And he told me to LOSE THAT WEIGHT I have gained since my last checkup!

He recommended WW over Low carb.
I spent the rest of the afternoon with DGS17 and DGS15 shopping and eating together. I had a great time.....however I am fuming about something DGS15 told me. I'm called DH on the way home and told him. I have wrote in journal about it. Normally I can get past things, but 3 hours later I am still so outraged that I can't let it go. I;ll post more in J&C

Ivy, when I was 11 and my dbs were 9 and 6, my dad worked away from home so mom, the boys and I spent the summer with him. They dropped us off to see "H ush, H ush S weet Charlotte". It was a scary movie and I sat in the middle and had my arms around both boys. We spent a lot of the movie huddled together. When it was over, it was dark, we were in a strange town and our parents were late picking us up.

My dm was mortified that they had dropped us off to see a horror movie and didn't know it. Years later when I met dh, we talked about that movie. His dsis had went to see it with a bunch of friends. They had walked to the movies. She was so scared that she ran all the way home and didn't realize until then, how fast she could run.
When we were newlyweds, we were watching TV in bed and a scary movie came on. We spent a lot of the movie with our heads covered up. We didn't know the name of it but a few years later, we found out it "P sycho".
I do not like horror movies but since I have married dh, I have watched many war movies. But after I have watched one once, I am done. He has some that he has watched so many times and continues to enjoy them, over and over and over.

Back home from choir (which went very well.)
Off to bed in a few minutes. It is a very windy night, so although it is warm outside (still in the mid sixties) I think it is very cold since it should be cold at this time of year.

Just got back from my 2nd trip to Wmart today.
Contents of diaper bag when we picked up dgs:
assorted bottles, toys, socks, rattles, baby wipes
formula
rice cereal
6 sleepers
4 burp cloths
2 bibs
2 hoodies
1 diaper
And they knew we'd have him for approx. 12 hours, LOL.
I didn't mind going to get more, of course, but I'm going to keep about half of these here at our house now.
