Hello, villagers ~
Hi,
SuzLew, it's great to see you!
Happy birthday,
Scattered.
General CI for the day:
I ran out of steam early last night and went to bed before finishing my newsletter work. Slept for close to 9 hours almost straight through. I remember waking up when DH came to bed, not sure what time, and then again at 5 to take meds and go to the bathroom. Normally I would have stayed up after 5, but this morning I decided to see if I could go back to sleep
and I did.
Once I finally did get up, it had been long enough after T meds that I could have coffee, milk, fruit and graham crackers right away. Then I started back on the newsletter stuff.
Which of course ended up being one thing leading to another that I realized should go in this issue.

Finished it all late morning and sent it off, even though the editor won't even look at it until tomorrow or Tuesday. Glad to check it off my To-Do List temporarily. Hopefully when she sends it back, the proofreading part will go smoothly this time.
Another Tiny Town half an hour from here was having special sales today to kick off gift buying season. I ran over to the fabric store because they pay for an ad in the sewing group newsletter. Found some gorgeous double-faced quilted fabric in a bright modern floral print to make a mat and cover for my sewing machine.
Also stopped at the dollar store there to look for a joke gift for the sewing group board's dinner meeting in December. We won't do business, just a social get together, and one of the other members wants to do this gift exchange. She gave the example of a time in another group where they had a $1 gift limit for the gag gifts, she planned to give a bag of hot dog buns. She realized, though, that the whole bag was worth more than $1 so she took some buns out before wrapping it.

I found a few cute things at the dollar store that will work, and what I don't give for that exchange will work for stocking stuffers for someone else.
Then DH and I went out for a sandwich, came home and changed into jeans and a denim jacket, and worked out in the yard until the sun went down.
I'm warning y'all, don't leave 2 cardboard boxes alone in a closet ... They will start breeding and next time you turn around, you'll have a big pile to dejunk! I keep thinking surely I've come to the end of them, and then I find more.
I'm going to fix some leftovers for supper, and then get ready to watch the Ken Burns special on public tv about the Dust Bowl & the Great Depression.
