Up from my toes-up time. I wasn't sleepy but I made myself lay down anyway. I watched an episode of a 1990's TV show on Kindle Fire. Nothing exciting enough to keep me awake but interesting enough to keep me from getting too bored while resting.

This morning I pulled out the repair manual for cook stove and started taking it apart. I didn't have a clue what I was doing, but had confidence that I couldn't make it worse. It could have ended either way (really broke or fixed). Thankfully it all went well and now the oven is working!

Next up -
** pick up LO from school
** play basketball
** afternoon clean up chores @ MPB including some TLC to my little car.

Yeah Okay.... I would have taken my stove apart too. I love taking things apart to see if I can get them to work again. My vacuum cleaner comes to mind.

Dee...
I will put in a special word to my Guardian Angel Andrew. When I first moved here my friends would laugh at me when I lost something and would tell them Andrew will help me it. He's guide me to lost glasses and my diamond ring just to name a few. Several years ago around Xmas time one of my friends from school came into our lunch room crying. It seems if she had lost one of her earrings. They were very special to her because they had been her mom's, and she had past on.

She said she had search her office ....on the floor, under her desk and had retraced all of her steps within the school. She said to me....Do you think Andrew can help me??? I said I'll ask, but you have to promise two things. One if it shows up you have to say a prayer of thanks for him. And then when you go to church you must put an extra offering in the basket for Andrew. She agreed.

I told her to go back into her office and just sit there. I told her if Andrew was around my friend would find herself getting out of her seat with no particular idea of where she was going. Thats the way it works with Andrew. Sure enough thats just what happened. She sat down in her office and cleared her mind. In a moment she was up and walking towards the other side of her desk...the side of which was against the wall. She got down on her knees and there on the ledge of the desk tucked away against the wall was her erring.

A few months later one of our other friends who also works in the same area lost the diamond in her engagement ring. She had been married for more than 40 years and was beyond upset. She had 4 other people helping her search for the stone in her office. She knew the story about the earring and came to me to see if Andrew would help her. I told her to clear out her office, shut the door and do the same thing...which she did. In a moment she was up. She walked over to her printer and wedged in the back was her diamond.

I have more stories that equal that. Every once in a while he doesn't come through. My friend was with me on a cruise and right before we came home she lost her camera. We never found it. I'd like to think Andrew had a reason or lesson behind why it didn't show up.

Andrew seems to help others as well....I tell my friends that everytime they're driving and the light stays green say...Thank you Andrew. And anytime something unexpected that's a positive thing happens to me I say...Thank you Andrew. So for many years in my school halls or my friends' classroom, you could often hear...Thank you Andrew being said. He has a wicked sense of humor so I know he's looking down here at us and having a good laugh.

It is a beautiful day here. We only needed a denim shirt for a jacket at 8 this morning and had that off by nine. Now we are happy for the gentle breeze that is keeping us cool.

We had Park Beautification this morning and were digging a lot of pups from many types of plants. The best part is that the workers get to take home any we don't put somewhere else. So I came home with a different type of aloe plant and a really nice Queen of Thorns or Artichoke Agave.

So we planted those plants plus dug up some mesquite seedlings for a friend.

DH went on to wash the MH while I contemplated the inside of my eyeballs for a hour or so.

Now I am taking a break from sewing (really mending) the skirt on my bed. The dark brown skirt is sewn to a non-woven material like a light weight pellon. But not a good material as it is disintegrating all along the seam. So my bed skirt is drooping and looked awful. I think Cowinkie's Andrew was watching out for me as before we put the skirt and the mattress on the bed, I put down a flannel sheet. So I am using a curved needle to sew the skirt to the flannel sheet without having to move the mattress. DH brought me some short lengths of 2x6 and I am using them to hold up the mattress while I sew.

So I'd better get back to sewing. I also have to wash dishes and get the house in a little bit better shape (sheets are in the washer) by tonight.

Tomorrow we take the MH into the shop so have worked a bit on getting it looking better inside. Then mid morning we have to take a ride to the CA border. We have to accept delivery of the car outside of AZ so we can license and title it in SD where we have our legal abode. Complicated, I know, but the taxes and fees are way less in SD.

Off to sew.

I did enough Hebrew, maybe too much. Dd14 doesn't need to go shopping today, so next week we'll find her swimming supplies. Right now, she is borrowing a cap and wearing goggles that are uncomfortable.

Dd14 needs me to take her to synchro. She will have to be 40 minutes early, b/c Hebrew class starts at 5:05 while her synchro starts at 5:30. I will leave around 4:40 and drop her off around 4:50. Dd17 didn't want to help do this. :x Maybe in the future she will help so we can take turns. Dd17 has to be across town at the church at 5:30, so she has to leave our house at 5:10.

I'm feeling frustrated about not getting done what I had wanted to get done. I did not get in a jog. Hebrew took longer than I thought - as always. I also did not get to the groc. store, and we are out of milk. I'll either pick up milk this evening, or go to the groc. store for a proper trip.

I will either go to the gym and jog or go to the groc. store this evening.

I did get some laundry done.

Why the name Andrew, Cowinkie?

I thought you meant you had 11 months to complete the Quicken project, Kathryn -till I saw the "sigh". Ouch! that's a lot to get done. Good for you figuring out a schedule however.

Scanned a couple of recipes earlier -for some reason it seems easier on this printer/scanner than up home.

Just got more mail (mailed to us by secretary at campground). So called the post office to see about our forwarding order. Did it on the internet and paid the $1.00, but it evidently didn't get there for whatever reason. So will go to the post office tomorrow get a (physical) card and fill out and re-mail.

Guess I'll try scanning some more things on here. I want to get some flash drives for pictures for dsons & dd families. Want to eventually get all the pictures I have scanned on to USB drives for each of them. Know that will be a long project, but would love to have it for next Christmas for each of them. Also want to do one for all of dh's travels when I get that far.

Good Afernoon All! Cowinkie I love your Andrew story. We have never talked about "your guy". I have often turned to mine - Michael the Archangel. When my Bob, whom I lost 32 years ago, was confirmed he chose the name Michael for his confirmation name as he loved Michael because he was a "great dude" who took care of the bad guys. I carry a little silver coin of Michael.

We are on countdown now to leaving for AZ. Slowly things are getting taken care of - haircuts, nails, pedi, finance manager appt., etc. I always like to visit all my people before we leave. :D I love them all.

Like I said before - I don't post alot but I read and you are all in my prayers. Believe that! :D

When I went back to school in the last 80's a friend of mine introduced me to a guy named Andrew. He was 10 years younger than me, but we connected like we were long lost friends. Andrew was gay. You couldn't tell it, but after hanging out with him I soon put two and two together. Once he realized I knew and didn't judge him our relationship really took off.

We had classes together and studied together as well. He could make me laugh until my sides hurt and he loved doing it. Many of his friends died from HIV, but Andrew was tested every 6 months and they were coming out negative. In the early 90's he got really sick. He called me on a Fridayto say he was going to the hospital and like a fool I never asked which one....

When I didn't hear from Andrew I got really scared. Then he called me on Tue to say he'd been released. Right then and there I told him everything I needed to. Then he told me.. I have IT. I didn't understand because his tests always came back negative. He didn't have HIV, he had AIDS, and back then there were no tests for AIDS. It was June 4 and I asked him how much time we had...he said 18 months. And so our journey began.

Every day we'd talked about every thing including his death. Eventually he couldn't cook for himself, the smell of food made him sick. I would take him to the store to buy microwavable food. When that became too difficult I cooked for him...and all during this time we talked and we laughed. Soon he could only eat grilled cheese sandwiches...I would cut them in teeny tiny bits...and it would take him an hour to eat it. And we kept talking and laughing. He was given AZT meds and was concerned about getting them from the pharmacy. I volunteer to get them...he just looked at me and said not to worry that the pharmacist was taking it too....Time ticked away and eventually he wouldn't let me visit him any more...Andrew was one of the most handsome man that I've ever known. He was very vain and didn't want me to see him waste away...I understood.

So we talked on the phone every day and laughed and laughed. Eventually he asked me to plan his funeral. He wanted me to wear a red dress which I promised to do. He told me he loved me in red. He told me when the time came and he had crossed over he would send me a sign that he was alright. Our phone conversations became shorter. He moved home to his parents. And we kept laughing over all sorts of silly things. During one of our last conversations Andrew told me how much it meant to him that we were able to talk about his impending death.

Some time during our friendship, Andrew gave me a bunch of plants which flower. I kept them inside On Ded 21, almost 18 months to the day I came down my stairs to get my morning coffee and all his flowers had bloomed red. I knew before the phone call came. After going to his memorial in my red dress and blazer I met his mother for the first time face to face....we had been constantly talking on the phone...She was standing at the entrance of the church after the ceremony. We started talking and she said...ya know Andrew's probable up there with the angels making sure they were doing their duties...and with that she started laughing...and when she did I saw Andrew's smile in her face...and for a moment we were laughing together again.

Hi everyone! Fast check in. Yesterday, DD10 got sick while staying at my house, sore throat, stomach issues, and fever. XDH heard 'sore throat' and immediately jumped on me for letting the cat sleep on DD's bed. When I pointed out that the other symptoms meant it could not possibly be allergies, he said that this was the second time in a row DD had diarhea at my house and what was I feeding her. The annoying thing is, she got sick at HIS house the other time and he SENT her to my house because I could stay home with her and he couldn't that day.

I cooked some balsamic chicken. I am now in the strange situation of having cooked more than I can eat or store. And thanksgiving turkey is coming up! I am going to the grocery store to get my holiday cooking stuff. I have decided that even though I am alone this holiday, i am still going to make myself a good meal! I am also going to buy some more yarn and printer ink and pick up a prescription. I have made a l&st of things I need to get done soon, it fills an entire page and has 13 items.

That is an amazing story, Cowinkie!

Well... today has been... a day. No problems really, with anything... just battling this churning stomach right now, and TRYING desperately to stay OFF the obsession cycle.
I woke up @ 5:00 a.m. to sirens on the road nearby. I don't think they went right past our house, just on the highway about a mile away. Very unusual that would wake me up... but then I couldn't go back to sleep... my stomach started churning... and it has been that way all day.
Haven't talked to dparents tonight, since they went to doctor today. I called, but they weren't home.

Trying to stay busy, and I have been somewhat productive.
DH & I went to Wmart, and he is at his mother's now.
I've washed a load of clothes and s/s two main bathrooms.
