Dee I'm glad you found your necklace and other things. That's great!
Thinking about MT and DH while he gets stress test. I hope results are good.
Twins, I hope you feel better quickly. Wrong time to get sick. :cry:

I went early this AM for lab test to see what this thyroid is doing. I can tell it's working, I am not down in a pit like I had been for a while.

It is hard getting caught up from all that sickness, the house is in disarray in places nobody sees - places that make things run better or slow things down. Today I had to clean out a kitchen drawer that holds all the kids plastic cups, sippy cups, straw cups, cute plastic cereal bowls and plates - as I could not get the extra straw cups I bought to fit in there. Boy, I need a big cleanout in this house.

Oh, after the lab I went to supermarket and bought the last of the stuff I needed, 2 bags of ice, some wine and beer for those that want it (fortunately I don't have to watch anybody in this part of the family with the alcohol) apples, ice cream. DH was going to put all the beer in the refrigerator and I told him no way, where will I put the food?

3 pies made for tomorrow; cake ready to decorate for tonight...in the middle of cleaning up the kitchen again. DH swept the floor for me, I guess it won't get mopped except the kitchen if I have time.

Need to get off my feet. Don't think I can do that. Gonna sleep good tonight!

I went out for a short trip and got the needed dog food. DD talked to ds quite a long time, and she's left to go see a friend who will probably come back here for supper.

I think I'm going to start a lol and then veg a bit more....

Good afternoon all!

I was up and out of the house before 8 this morning. I did grocery shopping and also picked up a Christmas gift. I have 2 pumpkin pies in the oven. Need to clean that mess up and start on something else. Just wanted to check in.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve everyone! Last night was Girls' Night Out, the usual Chinese, then Chuck E Cheese. DD called XDH and got an extra hour with me because there is no school tomorrow, so that was nice. I have downloaded my bank statement, so I guess tonight I will be updating Quicken and balancing the account. I have so much I need to do and so little motivation to do it. I have to decide whether I am going to do a turkey breast in the crock pot or cook it tomorrow. I also have to cook the stuffing, make gravy, and general chores. I think tomorrow I am going to indulge in a glass of wine and sleep late (well, not in that order!) I wish I was not going to be alone, but I will be. I will certainly call my parents and DD10. I wonder if I should have bought more leftover containers. I am very out of sorts, probably because it will be just me and the cats for the holiday. Some good things: the yarn store and its knit/crochet group will be going on Friday night and the knit/crochet group at the coffee house will be as usual on Saturday. Maybe I will do some sewing too. Goodness knows I have a lot of fabric to use up!!! Today I will also get a button so I can finish the baby sweater I have made. I am rambling, sorry, just out of sorts.

ETA: I have purchased the button and have decided to roast the turkey. I did not like chicken in the crockpot so it stands to reason I would not like turkey in the crockpot. It is a 3 lb breast so it will only need at most 2 hours cook time. Now I need to decide whether I want a Thanksgiving lunch or dinner, lunch I think, with leftovers for dinner. I am very mopey right now, but I refuse to cry.

(Elizabeth)

I have all my stuff done. Well, I quit working, anyway.

The inflatable beds are up, clean sheets everywhere else, kitchen cleaned up for the umpteenth time today. Everyone is on their way. 2 cars full of people met up and had dinner about 1 1/2 hours from here. The last 3 people will come tomorrow afternoon. I don't have to have beds for them.

This was incredible to get this much done. I'm ok except my back won't bend, not an inch. If there was a million dollar check on the floor I couldn't bend down to pick it up. I took some aspirin. I think I'll heat up my heat thingey to put on my back. This is not an injury, it's not that acute. I guess it's arthritis. Not really complaining, I'm happy just to have this much energy again. It's been so long since I've had any.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

~~~waving Hi to all~~~
Just wanted to CI and saw all is well here.
I had fasting blood work done this morning. We did essential MPB chores before we left town. Picked up DGS17 and DGS15 on the way to outpatient clinic. Then we did 7 other stops before buying groceries and coming back home.
LO had his last appt with counselor today. She thinks he is emotionally handling situation with his parents as well as can be, so she is hitting the pause button on his sessions. Said if something comes up to give her a call and she will put him back on her schedule.
Picked photos to put in the Christmas newsletter/novel and have printed off the last draft copy in Black & Pink before printing the colour copies (I'm using scrap pink paper from Presbytery that had gone through a copier without the original image in the machine so it had speckles on it and wasn't good enough to use for a fresh print job.)
Dishwasher is done. Now it is time to start laundry.
I'm also pricing ds's ticket to Australia. A return ticket from the US is $1850, from Canada it is $3300. Guess who's driving the 4 hours to the nearest US airport?!
Talked to dd and will give them their airline tickets home for Christmas.
((Elizabeth)) Glad you found the button and have creativity on the calendar. How nice that dd would try to get extra time with you.
Harmony, wonderful to hear your energy level is up. Hmmm... ... aches and pains will come with that! Have fun.
Kathryn, I used to have printer jams when I would use paper again another day in the church office. Hope that doesn't happen to you. How are your menfolk feeling?
I ran a few errands today, office supply and pet place.
Allowed dd14 3 hours at her friend's house.
Called dcousin and invited to Thanksgiving.
I posted a partial verdict on change of dog food.
helia, I missed the trash guys too!!! Sigh.
Agreed to Kidney Foundation pickup Thurs 29th.
Made a cake of cornbread and stewed potatoes and ...voila... happy husband.
Let the chickens run outside.
Tomorrow, for me, will continue as preparation day while we enjoy the televised parades, etc. Dd14 has one simple imperative so that I don't need to nag. Her older sister will be invited into her room, be prepared. I'm putting it out of my mind.
Waving a Hello to All! :D
My a.m. PODA got all accomplished, which was making DD a hat, cleaning house, staying out of the mini Reece's PB cups, but I've not read anything yet, except the crochet pattern.
My Ta Da:
- shower, shampooed, trimmed fingernails
- I wasn't feeling well, so I took children's elixir for cold/allergies.
- I dusted the inside of the china cabinet
- I set my dawn simulator, got out tomorrow's clothes.
- I dust mopped and swept.
- I cleaned bathrooms.
- My end table was a hot spot, so I put books, journals, and magazines into a nice lined basket and tidied the end table. Looks so much better.
- I washed the main/guest bathroom rugs; DH put them back.
- I finished DD's beret and it's a beautiful pattern, looks like a slouch, so I'll :idea: make myself one and a DFriend one, too. :D
- I napped 1 1/2 hours, too. Have been missing them lately, but was so tired today!
- DH did frozen dinner rolls and a loaf of bread and baked it.
Tonight, I'll do the kitchen and in the morning, we'll do toilets. DH will put the turkey on at 9:30 a.m. to be ready at 1:30 p.m. and DD and dgrson-16 come at 1 p.m. It's nice the house is ready and we're looking forward to seeing family and having a good Thanksgiving meal. :D
Waving to you all! Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow, too! :D
