All presents wrapped, packed in boxes, taken to PO and tracking numbers sent to the kids. I'm DONE!!!

I'll be posting pictures on the craft thread in a bit.Edited to add the pictures are up in Creative Home.

I think I will take today off and read the books I got in the mail yesterday. (That is other than the 3 D's.)

Tomorrow I will do some Christmas baking for friends around here.

Dd2 is going to open the shop at 4. Her morning guy is there glazing and loading the kilns. He keeps seeing people come up to the door and then leaving after reading the notice. She is going to come over this afternoon and wrap gifts that are here.

Good Morning!

DH is at Costco. I just finished my cup of coffee, am groggy still, and very tired. I finished the dog late last night about 12:30 a.m. This a.m. Ddil sent me a 4-D picture of our granddaughter. Cute baby girl! It's a miracle how they can take photos like that!

Today, I plan on wrapping and bagging gifts. I'll also clean and feed Bert & Ernie, too.

I got the load of towels out drying. They will probably be stiff. I'm not really happy with my newfangled front-loading washing machine. I can't even do a medium load of towels and expect them to spin out the water properly. I wrang (wrung?) them out twice and hung them up. I guess I'll probably try to bring them back in when they are barely dry and dry in the dryer, otherwise they'll be like boards. I can't do throw rugs in there either, same problem. Bad thing is I have a rinse/spin cycle but have no spin only cycle, otherwise I'd have put them in half load at a time to re-spin.

I had something to eat. Read through a big newspaper DH brought home and put in recycle bin with a couple magazines. And I've been sewing. I absolutely must get this done completely today.

I'm happily wasting another day here, although I'm not feeling too guilty yet. I did just write a difficult email so that should count for a very little.

I do need to do a few rounds of work here. I probably need to leave here in an hour for a 4 p.m. meeting and I need to do a quick s2s before. Might also walk the poor ddogs since they didn't get a morning walk today. Actually, those two things might take most of the next hour, so I need to get rolling...

It is 3 pm and I am just home from lunch with dfriend. It was great to catch up with her, but it took longer than I had expected. We had so much to talk about. I had to gas the van afterward - I was practically running on fumes.

Now, the electricity is out. It is not particularly rainy or anything so I don't know why. I did see a transformer blow up as I was driving on a busy street that borders our neighborhood, but the traffic light was already out at that point in time. I can still get online, obviously; ds says that is b/c we have a back up battery for the router. I'm wondering what I can now do that doesn't involve electricity. I guess I can unload the dw, tidy the kitchen, and wrap presents. I'm glad I'm caught up on clothes laundry. Glad our new stove is gas stove top - and my meal plan for tonight can all be taken care of stove top - except for the breadmaker bread. I guess I'm not starting the breadmaker as expected. If the electricity stays off for a while, dh will start the generator. Neither of us has ever lived in a place where the electricity has gone out as often as it has here. Dh never experienced the electricity going out at all until he came to the US.

Oh, sorry, scattered - UP is the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I was speaking Michigan-ese, but it sounds like you figured it out.

Dfriend A is not coming over for dinner after all as she isn't feeling well. I don't know if we'll get a tree tonight or not; if dh starts the generator, we can have some lights on.

OK, I'm going to run the battery down on my machine. I think it will fade away anyway; this is not the best battery so it will probably fade a little more quickly than it should. So, I'm signing off for a while.

Harmony - Synthropol? I've never used it and wonder if it would take dye stains out of clothes after they happened. Probably not.....just curious

LO had a good post-op hearing/check up. His hearing test went from 40 before the surgery to 15 (normal is 0-10) so it is officially documented that the surgery was a huge success. LO is treated like a celebrity at this doctor office because they all know his because DH gets his weekly allergy shot. There are about a dozen nurses in the office and most of them make a point to come talk to LO one-on-one.

LO is highly allergic to cats, all grasses and some molds. Doctor suspects allergy shots will be needed in future but doesn't want to do them until LO is older. There is a chance his allergies will change on their own as he matures. LO will start using GSE (Grapefruit Seed Extract) nasal spray to help with the mold allergy year round and will add in another prescription nasal spray when the grass is growing.

After we left doctor office we went to the surgery center and left a gift for "Skip" (he wasn't there) along with a Thank You note. There are several nurses that work there but Skip was the surgery nurse who LO bonded with before the surgery and stayed with him all through it. LO wanted to tell Skip Merry Christmas and show him that his ears are working now.

Harmony Sounds like there's something wrong with your washer's spin cycle. Mine spins things extremely well. Do check to see if there's a speed setting for the spin cycle. Mine has two settings (plus the speed of the spin is also defined by the cycle - my 'hand wash' cycle has a much slower spin than the regular cycle.) Perhaps yours is set to a gentle spin option.

I'm back from lunch and the service and, drumroll please.... am in be for my nap! Physically, I ache from waist down so am thrilled to be in my own bed. I've avoided soda all day and am sure if I had had some I'd not feel as bad as I do but I'd rather have the nap than hype myself up on caffeine and sugar.

DH went to Costco. While he was gone, I wrapped and gift bagged all gifts, except hats. The hats are for family and will go to cards with a little gift inside the cards. I am glad the main part is done, all gift bags are put away, etc... I worked up a sweat, still in my tricot nightgown. And heavy fleece robe. Was on my feet a LOT! I think I burnt calories, too!

It's very gusty here again. I'm headed to the shower, then we're running the DW and after the winds die down this afternoon, I'll start laundry. Decided not to crochet for baby, as I'm tired from crocheting all week and wrapping.

DH accidentally picked up 2 thin fleece-type thin warm material tops, for women, which are half-zip tops and a stand-up collar in black. They were so thin, he accidentally picked up 2, so came home surprised. I'm always cold, due to thyroid and FM, so this will work fantastic and I can layer over or under them, too.

Twins', I'm glad you are not feeling guilty about what you say is wasting a day. I hope you'll continue to not feel guilty. (I hate feeling guilty.)

Harmony, Those photos were really good of MT's!

Do you have an extended spin feature on your washer like I do? Mine's a top loader, with front loader technology. So I always use extended spin, to make the laundry more dry, so I dry in the dryer less longer. Good luck on getting your sewing done!

Oh, Lilac, Thanks for saying that. It's fun to crochet for a baby girl because the styles, patterns, and colors are so feminine.
