How does this happen? I have all day before me, not much to do -- and suddenly it is 2:30 and I'm in a time crunch. :?

I have just finished with the snail mail bills, etc. There were a lot!! It took me a lot longer than I thought. Now, I need to get them to a po box.

I need to leave with dd14 by 3:40 for her lesson AND I'd like to go to the groc. store. I need some things for dinner tonight. Let's see if I can get to a po box and the groc. store before I pick up dd14 for her lesson. . . .

Argh. DMIL just delivered gifts to all our grandchildren from a niece. It is hard to receive gifts when it isn't reciprocated. I appreciate her generosity, but but but. Argh...... I just put to paper the names of living family members by generation. We have 76 living family members in 5 generations. 90% of them live within 20 miles of us. If everyone tried to buy gifts for everyone they were related to, it would be overwhelming. If we limited it to buying for the children who are still in school that would be 31. We have a set amount to spend on Christmas gifts and I divide it among our grandchildren. DNeice can NOT afford to do this, she lost her home last year and moved in with her mother, her husband works 2 full time job. Argh...... How to respond? Hum.......

she most likely is not expecting a present back. It's probably a generous nature without thinking that it may weigh on your d family. Sending a thank you is all that is necessary, she will get the idea that it can't be reciprocated.

Wow, you have a LOT of family nearby, OK. It is just the five of us for 360 miles; then we can add my parents, dbro. and dniece to the equation. Could you just make a plate of baked goodies to give her? Or, maybe as blessed said she doesn't expect anything in return.

Just back from the lesson with dd14. NOW, I need to finish putting away groceries, get dinner started, and do some tidying. Our house looks like a tornado - or 2 (or 3. . ) hit it. Dfriends R and A will probably be here in about an hour. It's a good thing they're good friends, like family actually - even though we're all blond and fair while they are Korean. :)

You are such wise friends! Thank YOU!
Instead of thinking how small this makes me feel ......I need to encourage the recipients (grandchildren) to sincerely thank DNeice.

The last few days I've kept a pot on the cook stove full of tomatoes. Last summer I dropped garden tomatoes into a gallon size ziploc bag and froze them. now is the perfect time to process them. The extra heat and humidity from the stove is welcomed. It takes about 6-8 hours to cook the whole frozen tomatoes down into a rich sauce.

Okay, I whole heartedly agree with helia and blessed. I am sure that dniece feels helpless in the situation that your dds children are in and this is a way to show all of you that she cares.

As the day has progressed it has become evident that I am getting a cold. Stuffy nose that feels swollen and irritated, sore throat up into my ear.

Long day with dmom. Late getting to the restaurant for lunch, even tho I allowed plenty of time. I had to find her upper teeth, and we had locate her cane before we could go, then she realized she had forgotten her meds this morning so we had to do that. :? Lunch with dkids and dh was nice - we ended up at a very noisy place because the first choice place is closed this week. Got mammogram for mom, then went by temple where I signed cks. Then to my office where we went in and one of the tax secretaries notarized one of the forms for mother's signature. Finally back to her house - I had her try on new pants and turned up the hem so I can have the hems done, then she found the lab bill that was unpaid by her insurance, then I fielded a phone call from hospital re: dsis. Ended up waiting around at her house for my brother to get there, and he is supposed to take the form to work with him to sign and notarize.

I was on the run from 11 a.m. to 5:30. I'm exhausted. Hospital is ready to send dsis somewhere else. Asked if they could assist with her SSI claim while she's hospitalized.

I think dh is going to walk the ddogs tonight, and I'm getting in bed soon, I think.
