Happy New Year ya'll...
Up, fed doggies, had my coffee, picked up footprints and spent time clearing off my desk...yippie I found the bottom of the pile
Sweetie and I spent a quiet evening last night. We watched Avitar, which is still one of my favorite movies, and then listened to the Whistler ...an old timey radio show...after we went to bed. i spent all day yesterday reading, which is one of my favorite things to do.
Tomorrow I am having lunch with a bunch of my friends and I am really looking forward to that. I've enjoyed all of Nancy's tales about her chickens. As for strange Xmas gifts...this year Sweetie asked for all new underclothes...We're both to the point we have everything we need, so I was glad he made that request. Instead of buying them at a discount store like W Mart I headed for M acys. They were throwing a sale and I had a great coupon to go with it. Splurged and bought him the "good stuff". T-shirts are made with much better cotton thread....so are the underware. Best of all I was able to find premium Gold Toe white socks and I think the man is in 7th heaven. Sweeties daily uniform is colored jeans and a white t-shirt so I am glad he is finding everything to his liking.
I am determined to figure out my ancestry this year...the sooner the better. I've been working on it for the past several days and keep coming up with a dead end. Gonna go back to the beginning and start reviewing my research with new eyes. Already found some leads that I've over looked.
Forgot to tell ya'll I cracked a tooth two days before Xmas...They patched it on the 24th and then I went back in Friday for a temp cap. Have to have a crown up in a week from this Friday. The area is very sensitive to cold and sweets so I have had to be very guarded with what I eat. Be glad when this is over with.
Twins...I shared your Max eating story with my friend yesterday after she told my of her big adventure. She has a boxer and it seems that Emma ate her xmas gift. This dog will usually eat anything especially when my friend is not around. Last time Emma ate almost a whole 5 lb bag of natural fertilizer. This time my friend left Emma's rope toy WITH a squeaker on the kitchen counter. You know the rest of the story. My friend had to take Emma to the emergency vet. Her xray showed that the pieces of rope and the squeaker had passed through her stomach and small intestines so they sent my friend and Emma home. The next day after careful examination, my friend found the squeaker in Emma's poop.
Harmony...I can't believe you had that iron for 40 years. My mom has an ironing board that I want after she's gone. Its our inside joke. Its small and the legs are made of metal. I love it because of its size and the fact that the board is so stable. My great grandmother gave it to my mother as a shower gift before my mom was married...and that was 65 years ago.
Lucylee...Xmas is over and you know what that means...Half the school year is over and its time to get your retirement papers filled out and submitted.
Hope ya'll are starting your first day of the year with joy in your heart. Wondering how Elizabeth is doing in Mobile. They were hit with the worst tornadoes ever recorded on an Xmas day. All of my friends made it through, but I don't know where Elizabeth is staying so I don't know about how she is doing. Will be glad when she posts. Cya'll later...I have bills to pay and money to pay them with...like it when that happens
