not alot of triumph here more like a lot of umph and nothing accomplished yet. dd is filling out job applications, praying she gets the job she is looking into. it sounds perfect.. she is not sure of herself in this matter so praying she feels confident and others see her as such.
I want to work but dilly dallying, what I want: wanting to be a good mom and wife by having a nice dinner, clean cloths, and being there for them fully in spirit and being.
what I have to do
make dinner before dinner time not making it at dinner time
exercise for me
dye my hair for me
do dailies
reading the book
bill keeping

(((Harriet))) you really are having a nerve wracking day.
Dd2 is in a panic. She joined the Chamber of Commerce when she opened her business. They wanted to do a ribbon cutting ceremony and she put them off until after Christmas. They set the date as Jan. 9. She again tried to get out of it last week and the gal told her, she might as well get it over with because they won't forget it. So she got a letter in the mail and it talks like she will have a "reception".

Well that was news to her. So she is trying to figure out refreshments so that she can order them. I have a 2 pm hair appt tomorrow but I will be done by then. I would like to reschedule it but she is always booked solid.
I ran 2 errands and even though the temps have warmed up some, it still feels cold.
ellyphant, thank you for your input on the pivoting shower doors. Dh is leaning towards sliding doors. The toilet is so close to the present tub that we really hate to go with shower curtains.

Oh, ((Harriet)). Wow. What a stressful day. Hopefully, HRH will be home soon. Maybe he already is as I'm typing this.
Sounds like stress where you are too, ((Lilac)). I know nothing about businesses and Chamber of Commerces practice, but it sure sounds odd to me that she is forced to hold a reception - with refreshments for others. Maybe that is standard practice, though.
I am back from errands, did more than I had originally intended.
x ds moved back to the dorm
x Target
x Office Max for a particular plastic envelope container that I use for each year's credit card receipts
x specialty animal store for g. pig tabs and hay; they didn't have the right sort of hay but said a shipment was coming tomorrow. I missed it by one day. I'll go back tomorrow or Thursday.
x home - unloaded and put away everything (this included 2 suitcases ds used to transport his stuff + dh's suit jacket which ds had borrowed for a presentation and forgotten to return)
x checked email - 2 quick responses
x snack - 2 points of popcorn and now I'm eating a pear.
I have just ruined my opportunity for jogging this afternoon; I can't go on a full stomach and I'd have to go in the next 25 minutes to be done in time to take dd14. I might go to the gym and do the elliptical instead; I'm OK doing that with some food in my tummy.
Positive story: I was worried about parking by the dorm. Well, that ended up being unfounded, as worry often is. Not only were there several meters open, but the one I parked at had 29 minutes left on it, so I didn't even need to fuss with figuring out whether or not I had enough change.
Off to check laundry.

Took my nap after lunch. And ate lunch today since there are eggs needing to be eaten up. I had two, hard boiled, with a salad. And popcorn (my salty snack substitute.)
Just got some government forms done for the business. Need to take a payment to the bank so will do that today on the way in to my meeting tonight.
Will be in the city tomorrow, too, but think I'll just wait at the hospital for my friend since it is to take under an hour. She is getting her stent out. When she called yesterday, they told her it would be two weeks more and they'd call back with an appointment. That sounded so wrong to me since anyone I've known with a stent has had them out within 2 weeks of them being put in (which would have been Jan 3 but the doctor's office was closed for holidays until Jan 7.) In fact, I couldn't believe she wasn't given an appointment the day of her surgery for the removal.
Anyway, they called back today and said it had to be done tomorrow and it was urgent that it be done tomorrow, so she called me to see if I could give her a ride. I'm pleased the dang thing is coming out because it is uncomfortable for her and the thought of her trying to stay positive about it for another 2 weeks was asking a lot of her.
Next challenge: tidy my desk a bit so I can think and see just how behind I am. Maybe even pay bills.

Hello dear ladies,
Houseful of sickness here, everyone but Dson21 has the flu. And we all got our flu shots!
We're thinking this is the lite version of the flu, since we all got our shots, we're sick but not as bad as other times. I putter at things a bit and then go rest. Mental things are hard right now. I wouldn't want to make any important decisions. Sat in my recliner, watched the fish in the aquarium and listened to "Kidnapped". Had to close my eyes to the fish as it was just to busy for my brain.
I miss seeing posts from Sherinjoy. Hope you get to come back and post soon.
Dbrother is sick too, trying to keep him from yelling at the TV, a favorite thing he likes to do, but his throat hurts and the less said the better.
Going to read for awhile, or maybe nap.
To the adventures.

(Harriet) I'm glad you can talk out those worries here. Thankfully your DDad is ok.
There really isn't anything you can do about the hunter, is there? If the hunter caused a problem, the neighbor has a right to complain to authorities, but are you responsible for or to either man? Does giving permission to hunt on the land mean liability if the hunter causes damage? An accident this one time in so many years does not mean it will ever happen again. Surely they can solve their own problem without involving an elderly man in fragile health and his family with hands full as caregivers.
(Sadie) Been there, done that, not fun.
CI: I took a nice nap before lunch and that helped. I think I am to the point in the reports of being ready enough for tonight's meeting to start to relax. If I can get more done, I will feel more prepared, but I can wing it if necessary. Therefore, I am going to take the time now to wash my hair and try to do something with curlers.

Okay.... All that paper work you're talking about is what kept me so busy. Multiply that by 28, add more reports and add a few more reports, including monthly progress letter to my 28 plus students and you begin to get a feel for my world. That doesn't include daily class work and other "stuff" that gen ed teachers like Lucylee do.
Cool to hear... No pun intended... That LO's teacher has some of LO issues. She will have a unique approach to his learning. As I like to say she knows what it's like to sit on both sides of the desk and that in it's self is invaluable.
Harriet you seem a bit harrid. It comes through with your writing. Big hugs to you. Feel better Sadie. I hate the flu.

Good progress made on paperwork. Called 3 medical places to have them check their account balances for the 3 of us. Medical billing is just WEIRD. They send us bill with balance due, I send them a check.....then in a few days they send us a check saying we overpaid them. Argh!!
i ordered school yearbook for LO. Probably $40 wasted, but I couldn't decide on whether to do it or not. I finally decided that it would be a good way to learn his classmates last names (we know most of them, but there a few that are unknown to us). Since this is a small school everyone in grades pre-k through Seniors are in the same yearbook.
I did some research on guns and have narrowed down the kind/caliber (38 DAO hooded revolver) I want. I have found 1/2 dozen that I'm really interested in. Now it is a matter of holding various make/model to find one that feels best in my hand. I need to schedule about 3 hours (2 hour drive) to spend some time in store when DH will be with me. I want his opinion before I make my final selection. And yes - any gun I carry has a pink/purple color requirement.
I think we are going to eat out tonight using a gift card to local BBQ place. Several months ago a lady needed her door locks changed so DH did it for her but he wouldn't take any $$ for doing it. She sent a very nice thank you note and we thought that was it. However she insisted on paying by sending a gift card as Christmas gift.....along with another Thank you note.

Just a second here...
(Harriet)
Glad to read of LO's therapy session. Hoping it goes well.
Today was: paying a bunch of bills, statements, the ones that take me a long time.
Out to take stuff to DH at jobsite. 2 banks on the way back.
Back out after lunch to get groceries, had nothing decent to make DH's lunch for today, so I'd promised him.
S2S/rollers and then I vacuumed half the floor and mopped. DH had a fight with a board this morning and now has a gash across his forehead and there were drops of blood all over. I also got the bed linens washed and put back on including washing the pillow and getting a new protector on it.
I guess that's all the time I have. Going to a church meeting tonight, need to walk dog, take out rollers, put something in a dish for DH's dinner.....
