Hi everyone! I wish I could report lots of great things going on, but mostly DD10 and I were at odds. She woke up wanting to use Netflix on her Kindle. Ok by me excep that we could not get it to work. Explosion city, including head butting me. I don't know where she learned head butting, but I am very tired of it. Next time her head came toward me, I whacked it. Of course that was the time she was just planning to lay her head on my lap. More screaming and explosions, calls to XDH to go home. Then she threw a box full of packing peanuts all over the living room floor. I told her that she had until 3 to start picking them up or I would slap her. She got slapped. More explosions, calls to XDH, threats from DD to call police. Then screaming about having a hard week, the divorce, dyslexia, cousins who called her names, and other similar things. She got a non-Netflix movie up on her kindle and finally calmed down. We missed church due to screaming. Fortunately, she was calm while we met for lunch with some friends I hadn't seen in 5 years (they moved to FL).

After that DD tried to trick me into saying yes to Chuck E Cheese, when I told her last time, she could not go due to kicking machines. (Last time, we left early because of that). She is not allowed to go this week because as we left CEC, she called me an idiot. We have never really gotten along.

We did end up going to Toys R Us for her to spend her allowance money. I found out later, she didn't have any allowance money left! After that we went to Target to buy me a lamp (the one in my bedroom had broken). We also found one for her (her room was just plain dark). We bought mine and had to drive 20 minutes to another Target to find hers in stock. When we came home, she assembled hers herself, except for the one part she couldn't reach. Then she painted a ceramic puppy, did her homework, watched an episode of Hogan's Heroes, and then XDH picked her up.

My house is now blessedly quiet, but my conscience is not. She hates me and pretty much always has, that is why she lives with XDH. I have also found out that XDH's other woman now spends most every evening at his house and bought XDH a flat screen TV for Christmas. While we were shopping, DD suggested I marry the other woman's XDH. I told her I have no plans to marry anyone, and that is the truth.

Hello again, everyone. I read that OKay and Kathryn had gotten to post - yay - and saw that I was no longer logged in, then hit "post" and it took a long time to log in. Anyway, here I am. I would be feeling very good about this except for the long time it still took to log in. Hmmm...

Perhaps my "five by" can include 4 books - no, I didn't read that many so quickly!

Dd and I went to the bookstore and I'll be posting in H and F about what I found for HRH and for myself. She found a book for school and a book to be reading after her exams this week, when she won't be going to different classes but staying in the same room. Back home again and she is studying psychology. I'll get the Evening Dailies done and be ready to hit the hay.

((Elizabeth)) I think xdh needs to be asked the question, "Where did she learn head-butting?" Really - I'm not suggesting you be contentious toward him, but he needs to be asked the question, since it is a new phenomenon, and seems to have been used as a "first response" to technology not giving her her way, and he may be aware of a situation it came out of, or other clue. That doesn't really sound like she's mad at you so much as just mad and looking for a way/place to vent.

Hello again everyone. I have tried to get out of my funk by getting busy. I just decluttered my job searching email account. Over 300 messages (mostly junk)! Next up: microwave a chicken pot pie for dinner. I am not really hungry, but I need to eat something. I should also update Quicken since I spent a fair amount today, only on necessary stuff that was on my list though. I may try some filing too.

Harriet: I have asked XDH about the head butting. He claims it never happens anywhere except with me. Whether that is true or not, I can't tell. I don't seem to have any effective discipline for her. I try just to keep things fun.

I'm finally here..... I tried four times to get into the website as I got the Sql error also.

I've had a pleasant day today. I puttered around some finding new homes for a few things and thought about the next focus area (bathrooms). There's lots I would like to do, but can't now, but some things I can to to make both bathrooms better. Then I read a bit of the Sunday paper and the ads. Dfamily#2 came for dinner and it was a nice visit with them.

((Elizabeth)).

Just wanted to say hello to everyone! Time to watch Downton Abbey!

Elizabeth: I understand that your daughter and you have never had a traditional relationship but you are not her activities coordinator, nor are you responsible for making her happy every waking second.

You are her mother so you are to offer safe and appropriate activities for her. As for her being happy, she is the one who makes that call. If she chooses to be unhappy, medical investigation should be done to determine if there is a brain chemical cause for this requiring meds, or if she needs a more structured approach to change inappropriate behaviours.

Downton Abbey has gone to being only 1 hour a night (instead of 2) so my recording of it was messed up. Luckily, I watched it 'live.' I've now gone over my PBS station's schedule and will change the programming in my system to match.

So glad we're back up. Always a little disconcerting.

I've been working off and on on the treasurer's report for our Annual Report today. As I went to look to see if he'd sent the rest of the report I noticed my nephew's name (who NEVER has sent me an email or a phone call) so looked at that first, followed by a phone call. Details in J&C.

I finally just sent all 7 pages of this financial report off to the treasurer so he can proof it. I'm really hoping we've nearly 'got it'. That will make today REALLY SPECIAL! It's taken us days before this year. To pretty well do it in a day -well that's phenomenal!

Have to go post in J&C and hit the hay.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

(((Elizabeth)))

Dee, Have a wonderful good sleep! :D

Sunny, Your day sounded like a "Happy Sunshine" day with family! :D

I re-examined my previous post and I'm not "surprised" to find I didn't complete everything on my "To Do", but, I completed several things NOT on my list! I sent a short story. I got a "wild hair"----- "Why don't I try to teach myself how to use my new flash drive, since I've not used it before?" :o  :?: I tried it, things came on my screen, I didn't understand they were telling me or how, got scared, and pulled the flash drive out. I called tech support, got transferred, paid some $$ to have 100% for one year tech support for free, no matter the problem is. :) Did NOT expect the charge, but it comes off taxes. Well over 1 hour later, while the tech took over my computer and taught me how to do it, I'm thrilled, but was totally "side-tracked". I have a special phone number, special reference # so they know it's "my" computer, etc...

Our DFriends called, talked to DH about coming tomorrow, to drop off a b-day card/gift. :) :) My DF is a fastidious housekeeper. Her home looks like we've stepped into "House Beautiful"!!! I have writer-clutter, crochet-clutter, reader-clutter, clutter-clutter. I'm exaggerating. ;) DH suggested I show them my new dg's email photo on my laptop. I wrote today, my office was trashed! :!:  I'm happy to say how it's orderly now, I don't recognize it and it's wonderful! :!: It took time to get it this way and hope I can keep up a new habit of keeping it orderly someone told me, "An orderly environment yields an orderly mind." So clutter makes people nuts!

I tidied the bunny-craft room, made the desk pretty, slid a bin into the linen cupboard floor, and the room looks much better. I'm proud because the man DF looked at my small craft bins and papers all over that room's desk the last time he was here, while DH was showing him something. I was embarrassed. They probably won't even see it! The bathroom's re-decorated, my end table top in the GR8 room is re-decorated, and I feel good about myself, good about how DH helps me, ♥ and I let him watch football, documentaries and old movies and he lets me write, crochet, write letters, read and it's such a wonderful trade-off. I'm very happy with him and we'll be married 43 years come Sept. :D :D

Not all my "to do" items got done, but I've done a lot of stuff. :P I'm starting out Monday morning, tomorrow, on the right note. I just had to share! I'm so happy! Rather than stressing that I need to get orderly because my visiting friend is so tidy, made me turn it around to motivate myself to be tidier, and it's rubbed off. My 2013 goal is to pick up more, organize, have things nicer, and it's happening! A wonderful feeling! It's great to come here and read how others are trying! It rubs off on us! It's nice! This is so long! I'll end it with good wishes for a good sleep and good start to the week tomorrow. Goodnight, Everybody! :D

I have FINISHED 2011 filing, except for the tax stuff that arrives at the end of January! I have also made tomorrow's lunch, updated Quicken, and started the dishwasher. Now I think I will watch a mindless video and crochet.

Kathryn: We are looking into brain chemical stuff right now. As far as our relationship goes, I don't have any idea where things went wrong and it is probably too late to fix it. There are some people who are just not suited to raise children. Unfortunately, we don't find that out until it is too late. We have done counseling, I'm on meds. All that is left is to push through life and try not to cause more damage than already has been done.
