HAPPY BIRTHDAY IVY

We are freezing (still) here in the Valley of the Sun and not too much fun. On the 31st we will have been here 2 months and I still haven't been able to wear my summer clothes. I've worn the same pair of jeans for the entire time. Next year I will know better.

Friday our dd comes from SJ to visit for the weekend. We are excited. (Our weather should be perfect by then and temps up to low 70's.) Sunday we will have brunch at a golf course near here and Cowinkie and Sweetie will join us. We are anxious for dd to meet them.

Hope you all have a wonderful week.

Hello. I'm not in turbo mode today. More like turtle mode!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY IVY!

(Twins) it's the little things that set us off.
Lilac, I'll bet your new bathroom will be beautiful!

Dee, holding good thoughts and prayers for DD's eye surgery today. Oh, and I remember my DDthen 14, she was impossible. She wanted to run all over the neighborhood, do her own thing, not consider consequences. I tried everything, even bribery and nothing really worked, she just needed to grow up. Of course, she was a medically normal child and your DGD isn't. My older DD didn't talk to us for the 2 years she was in middle school, grades 7 & 8. When she went to High School that ended and she told us she was mad all the time and she didn't know about what. She changed overnight. It was hormones I'm sure.

LOL Harriet!
OKay, do hope LO is feeling better.

Wash is ready to hang up. Whites today.
I've been using up time with paperwork with DH. And then I came here and wrote a novella in the J & C thread.

If all stays the same around here I'm going to tackle the monster walk in closet. I can't finish the rest of the house until that is under control.

Done:
x a.m. routine
x met with dh at coffee shop for short chat
x email reply to dfriend; social -- I probably should have waited until this evening
x load of whites in the dryer
x lunch; finishing now

I need to leave in 10 minutes to head out to the high school. Before then, I'd like to figure out the last dinner for this week so I can head straight from the school to the groc. store so I can be home in time to take dd14 to her oboe lesson, leaving at around 4:25. I will need to go to the groc. store again Thursday/Friday after I coordinate meals with dfriend for our ski trip. I will take one of two dinners (Sat. and Sun). We'll be cooking for a total of 11 people.

Sorry I can't be more social.

Happy Birthday Ivy.

We have been to breakfast and I have been on the phone for the last 1/2 hour.

Our retirement insurance changed our prescription service and I'm trying to get one of DH's scripts filled. With all the flu going around - the pharmacy is swamped. The letter said to just take our card and the pill bottle and go to any C V S pharmacy and we could get a 90 supply. WRONG!! We have to jump thru a bunch of hoops - but it is nice that we can get it locally and not wait for mail order. I'm really going to miss the old mailorder, however - they were always great and did everything so promptly.

Time now to get going for the day. First up is to file the pharmacy stuff so we don't lose it.

Hello Dear Ladies,

Happy Birthday Ivy!

It's a cold day here, supposed to make it to 40 by 3 o'clock and then head downward again.

Dson17 says he feels a little less clogged in the head, he's been taking mucinex for a couple of days, so we didn't go over to the doc's for now. I think cold med companies are making a fortune these days.

I am puttering and resting. Which is a step up for me. So no turbo for me. I took a shower and am now at the computer to rest a bit.

Dson24 got his W-2's so I did his taxes for him.

And I putter with DH's end of the year papers.

Need to putter in the kitchen, clean the counters and the microwave. I'm know the floor would love to get swept.
And the bathrooms need some attention. Want to cook pork chops for dinner.

Such a busy life!---not!

Off to the adventures.

Thank you for the Happy Birthday wishes, Villagers All! :D

We had a touch of snow late yesterday afternoon, but it only shows up where car and truck tracks go on the driveway. It's probably 1/2 inch or less. It was very, very fine stuff. It was warmer in the night, so DH did not need to turn on the kitchen sink water, to keep from freezing pipes. :)

I'm going to go out later this week to celebrate my b-day. I have an owie left ankle and my back's aching. I have a short story to write from an outline, too. It's romantic. Oh, and yesterday? Our dfriends came over and the house looks splendid, but I forgot all about sorting laundry and doing it! I had a large load of dark towels, so they await to be washed, and it's Mt. Washmore in the utility room. Today's still special though. I've gotten many greetings, cards, and our kids call, too.

OKay, I hope LO gets to feeling better soon.
Twins' Mom, Is doggy care expensive?
Blessed, your writing to Lucy that Kathryn's idea is great, to "bless your heart", is great!
Kathryn, have a good day up there in Canada.
Lilac, Don't get too tired running errands today.
Hello to Harmony, Lynn, Dee, and Ellie.
Harriet, the script writing.... Is it a manuscript or is it calligraphy?
Dee, I hope your dd's surgery goes very well today, too.
Hello Norma and MT, too.
Nancy, How are the chickens and do you still have at least 1 rooster?

I slept in until 9:15 a.m. The older you get the more "beauty" sleep you need! It's the big Six-One for me today. I told DH yesterday I'm over the hill now. He asked, what was the hill and I said, "Age 60! LAST year!" He's 71 and he said he hasn't even gotten TO the hill yet! ;)

Our dneighbor-friends brought me an upside-down peach cake and it's divine. She's the best cook in the world, does everything from scratch and it's a real treat to know them. Thank you, Everyone for the birthday wishes, too. I really appreciate them, too. :D

So nice to see you all today!

Just checking in to say I have folded a load of laundry, made iced tea, read my Bible, and watered plants. Have one bill to pay and many papers to file or deal with in some way. Expecting snow overnight. Glad I have the ice melt ready as driveway slopes and my car will not go up it unless all is clear. DH's car is heavier and has no problem with snowy driveway.

Have to climb many steps to get groceries into this house. My legs are feeling it from yesterday. Looking for my "turbo" setting...
