Good Morning, Villagers!
It's "Frustrating Friday" for me!
I worked all day (on & off) yesterday, crocheting a beret, which looks like a slouch hat. I made DD one, it looked so beautiful, rich-looking on me, so I wanted to make myself, after I gave DD hers.
Ha! Mine's red, it looks goofy and silly because of my wide very high forehead.
I look like I have no hair at all in front where the band of the hat rests. To look good, I would have to do a comb-over and carefully put the hat on, "fuss" with my hair, very carefully bring some hair down, so it shows below the band, to look better.....
Or wear a regular red had my BFF made me instead, which is more NORMAL!
Then mail this red hat to DD, for a surprise Valentine's Day hat.
♥ I'll do that instead and won't feel so self-conscious, and I'd be blessing her!
I looked just so "weird" and not like "ME", when I put the hat on last night. I asked DH what he thought and he got a funny and odd look on his face, diplomatically said, "Well...... You CAN wear the hat if you want to..... IF that's what you want to do.... You can do ANYTHING you want to....... I guess it'd be okay."
And he just had that odd look on his face, which I can't "shake" and I'm sitting here laughing out loud to myself. It wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't worked so hard, but it looks so silly on me. DD is petite, she looks FABULOUS in a slouch, so off to DD's house it'll go! Thanks for "listening". Now I don't feel so bad!

Meeting this morning was good, as always. I love these women. I always leave feeling encouraged. Now, I have a couple emails to send out as the steering comm. chair (though this was not a steering comm. meeting), and we had a helpful conversation re: my topic as I am up next in the teaching line up, last Thursday of February + 1st thursday of March. Between now and then, we have a retreat, the valentine's day brunch, and a week of vacation per the public school schedule.
We talked about possible topics for next year based on the struggles some of the women are dealing with now. I think it will be good.
((Kathryn)) for the church issues. yes, that does seem wrong that she is disconnected but still involved in ways to make trouble. . . I'm looking forward to your new apartment along with the rest of the crew, though!
WTG on the hat, Ivy! I have a UFO knitting project that I need to sit down and finish one of these days. It is for myself so maybe that is why I'm not highly motivated.
Yes, I agree. ((LO)) Change is hard.
Enjoy your quiet house before granny duty, nancy.
Enjoy the adventures of today, blessed!!
I don't know what my February goals are. . . Hmmm.... I really do need to get back on the exercise/tracking my eating band wagon so that is one. somehow, 1.5 lbs. of the 2 lbs. I gained earlier this week are now gone. Maybe it was just water??
I'm off to work on a.m. routine before dfriend arrives at 1:30. She often arrives early. . .

I am collapsed for the rest of the afternoon. DFriend came over and help finish up the prime coat of paint. She is younger and has a lot more energy than the old folks. Just about killed us.
But all the walls except the one in back of the washer/dryer are primed. It looks sooooo good. Tomorrow we hope to put the terra cotta on the walls in the living room. That will be a big change.
The email has come that my blinds are being shipped. They should be here Wednesday.
Also have a chiro appt. on Wednesday.
Time to check my eyelids for leaks.

Was that the 'deer in the headlight' look? Or should I say '
Dear in the headlight?!" We put our poor dh's in impossible positions sometimes!
No progress to report. Just checking in again.

Home again. I ended up spending about an hour and 45 minutes at the SSA office waiting for my turn. In the end, nothing was accomplished except that I'm on record as having been there - when the woman who is handling it is back next week she will call me supposedly.
DD called while I was waiting and is coming home this afternoon. She and roommate had a big blow up and dd says that roommate made "dire threats" so dd has discussed with RA for dorm and wants to get away for the weekend. She said she would fill me in on it all later. We discussed going to temple but are going to have Shabbas dinner at home......which led me to needing Shabbas candles as we used our last ones last week.
After the SSA office, I went to Publix for groceries, at least in part to see if they have Shabbas candles, and then forgot to look for them. Got some groceries, some stuff that we needed but didn't have list. Then decided to walk through Tar-jay, which I did. Found some birthday candles that will work for shabbas candles for now, and realized I should buy some of the fresh pasta that dd likes. So then I ended up at the grocery closest to home, where I got the pasta and challah, since I won't have time to make any now. I really can't remember my own name right now. I also went to the bank for cash.
Just now ordered a box of 72 candles online so that is set. I need to put away groceries, dd s/b here soon if she left when she planned.

blessed, we have a terrible track record with plaster - hope someone else can help you.
HRH put the arms back on my desk chair trying to help me with comfort - can't get used to it, though. It forces me to sit back so far if I want to type.
Visited my colorist. Glad that I got it done, but not all that happy - didn't have my color when I shopped so I had to take the next lighter one. And also it doesn't look as healthy as it has before when using this product (herbashine). The packaging is different and the conditioner inside is different. Sigh.
Work here -
deep cleaned front (guest and ddad) bathroom
declutter in the kitchen
calendars
Work at my parents' house -
cleaned both toilets
cleaned kitchen sink
declutter in kitchen
swept down porch in and out
worked on linens in general
Still to do -
additional grocery shopping
dd's room
Job Jar -
HRH - limbs down on driveway
phone books thrown out on both driveways (check - dd got them)
I don't like change, either. ((LO)) I don't like that Kathryn and OKay talk about moving, and I've never even seen their homes! Just con't get used to Twins' Mom's new house at all.
Thanks, lucylee, she's happy. I would think you could ask dear aunt again in a pleasant, no-hassle sort of way, just in case she was only waiting until she felt better. I see dh's point about coming down to only a few days and the potential of needing those days available.

Harriet: you do have a standing invitation to come visit. But still, with all you have going on you'll probably not make it. BTW: I'll be coming your way (if you'll have time to visit) in May. Dh is coming too. Because he's crazy. He's doing the road trip with me and we'll get back on a Sunday night. He'll leave Monday for Peru and hiking in the Andes.
I got another account reconciled so I'm down to the last two. I keep doing the easiest ones first but now I'm down to two hard ones. Took a break at 3 and had a big lunch. Dh thinks I'm a bit off my rocker.
Speaker of rocking (and rolling) - my knee is sore and sitting makes it worse. I've been trying to put my legs out in front of me but tend to hook my feet under a chair so have switched to the exercise ball. It puts me at a better height for typing here at the table, as well so four benefits (better height, core strengthening, better knee placement and softer on my bottom.)

LOL, Harriet, we've been here six months already! Realized the other day that I have been very consistent walking ddogs twice a day since we moved. Not a long walk, but consistent.
Groceries unloaded, going to lie down until dd gets here.
And any one of our villagers have a standing invitation here if they are in the area. We are fairly close to I-75 which goes north/south.
