Happy Motivational Monday, Villagers! :D

I didn't have time to post this weekend. I was working and got three stories off. I got another story sold, which made me very happy. I'll work this week, too. But since I've gotten 3 stories off in 2 days, I want to take some time to declutter and organize a few things, too.

(((((Twins' Mom))))) & (((((DD))))) It sounds like such a "sticky" and tough situation. People can be so cruel. :(

MT, Yes, granite's easy to paint around. I bet your painting job will make the place look renewed. :)

Kathryn, Sorry about your brain reversing letters. Some days it seems like the brain just can't "work" right! :o

DH just said they found the skull of King Richard the III in England! Wow! That's history in the making right NOW! :o I guess his body was found under a parking lot! :!:

Hi Harmony! Sorry about the roto virus going around! :(

Good Morning, OKay! :D

Lynlee, Motivational Monday was a great theme for today's starter-upper! :D Thank you!

I hope you get going, Blessed. Some days are just harder than others, aren't they! :!:

Waving to you, Nancy, and Dee, too, Helia, Harriet, and Everyone else, too, and Scattered and INE, too!

Morning y'all...

My computer has been down for the past week...or at least most of it...which means I couldn't connect much with my phone. Sweetie got a new computer and past his old one down to me. His old one can spin circles around my old one. Then he put in a new operational system which is taking him some time to tweek. So its hit or miss with me.

Friday I started on the backyard by cutting the dead branches off of everything. Sat I did some work around the house and yesterday I finished what I started in the backyard. I thought of y'all while I was working in my tank top and shorts. And I thought of Nancy while I was trying to rake the yard...need a leat rake, not what I have, so I will get on today.

Then for some reason I decided to vacuum the house and light mop the floors. Thought of Lucylee as Sweetie was talking on the phone in the area I wanted to work in. I went to a different part of the house, found some other things to do and then scooted Sweetie out of his area so I could do my thing. Made spagettii while waiting for the Super Bowl, did the bathrooms and dusted the blinds. Theseare usually my Monday Morning blessing. Don't know what got in to me...but I just went with it.

This morning I slept in until 8...which is very late for me. Fed puppies, drank coffe, watched Perry Mason while doing laundry, and did what I needed to do for dinner tonight. I'm going to skim through all my emails and such and then I have a few errands I want to do.

Twins...I would make that call, especially since this girl has done this thing before and this is not a one time thing. This is a case of bullying and harrassment and the school needs to be made aware of it because what the girl is doing is against the law. Better to be proactive than reactive. You would feel bad if this got out of hand and you found yourself wishing you had handled things differently. If your daught is that scared to go back to school maybe she is hoping you will do something for sher so she can tell her friends....I didn't tell the school about the threats my mom did...that way it takes the heat off of her and the other girls will just roll their eyes and say...I hate when a parent does that....but really feeling glad that you did something they all wish they had done, but were too afraid to do it. Just because your daughter is a "big girl" now doesn't mean she doesn't want your help. Sometimes its harder to ask your mom for help when you're older than when you're in 5th grade and the "girls" are being mean to you.

Off....before the computer gremlins get to me..... Later...Waving to y'all

Well then, Kathryn, I think BBC's editorial staff today was just in error, showing that phrase with "round UP" in their constant screen headline over this video story. HRH and I stared at that trying to think how it could be true! But if the reality is that retailers will "round TO the nearest" then that is a lot more fair and makes sense. The story said that Britain is less likely than the US to someday follow suit, because making a British "copper" doesn't quite cost as much as the value of the coin itself. The thing about US coins is that both the penny and the nickel cost more to make than the coin is worth. Some say that we might as well stop making both! Yikes... ... Again, I don't like change - well, I mean I like HAVING change in my pocket but I don't like events that cause change - what I mean is... never mind.

It's Laundry area for Focus cleaning this week. Hope everyone's laundry space looks spiffy!

Interesting news from the folks who look up at the sun. Norwegian Institute researchers have shown that previous calculations on what times and dates around the world would allow people to make Vitamin D from sun exposure were too conservative. Cool. 8-) Soon we'll have internet sites that let you input not just your latitude, longitude and date, but also cloud cover, fairness/darkness of your skin, and what surface you're on (sand, lawn) and tell you exactly what times you'd need to be outside that date to reap some Vitamin D benefits. From what they are saying now, I'm thinking Twins Mom probably made some Vitamin D on her Florida trip last month after all, especially if she was on the beach.

OK, well I thought that was the way it was done in Australia, Kathryn, but I clearly wasn't sure and you've been there more recently than I have. I've looked online and I do believe that there are also no pennies in the Netherlands.

Perhaps of some interest, b/c we're close to the Canadian border, some businesses in the area accept Canadian coins and I do get Canadian coins back as change from time to time. Sometimes it happens accidentally, but I do remember once I asked a cashier if they would take a Canadian quarter, and they said, "Sure." I probably have a Canadian coin in my change purse right now.

I didn't realize pennies cut down on algae growth, OK.

((LO))

Yeah, I read that about finding the skeleton of King Richard III. I wonder how they knew it was him, but I didn't read the article and I'm sure the science is there.

WTG getting your Monday house blessing done yesterday, cowinkie!

Done:
X a.m. routine
x 2nd lol has been washed
x various online websites perused and a couple phone calls made. I have put another fraud alert on my credit reports and have printed out one free credit report. I think I can't print the other 2 off free until the fraud alert is communicated to the other 2 agencies. If worst comes to worst, I'll just pay for the reports; dh said it may not be worth the hassle for the $$ saved. (It took me a very long time to find the correct page to print out my free report per my fraud alert at the website of the agency I contacted.) I am unable to get my SS statements online - maybe b/c of the fraud alerts? - so I'll need to go to the SS office in town to get those this week. Not looking forward to that, but the lady at the SS office I spoke to 3 months ago suggested I monitor my statements to see if anyone is using my number for employment or taxes, etc. She actually was extremely helpful.
x lunch

Next:
-switch laundry
-work on Hebrew
-unload dw for a study break
-work on cards for a study break
-maybe take a trip to the PO box for a study break.

LOL! I have more study breaks planned than hours of study!! :)

Hello Dear Ladies,

Sunshine here and I'm doing laundry and puttering at the housework.

Sad situation to our little town, high school and intermediate school were on lockdown because a student shot himself in one of the rest rooms. He took his life. Very sad.

I have been calling cousins. Very big step for me if you knew our family. Most of my father's sibling were feuding a lot. Over what, don't know, doesn't matter. As a result the cousins don't have relationships with each other. But Aunt Betty and our beloved Uncle Art rose above all the squabbling to have relationship with the nieces and nephews. So Aunt Betty would always mention to me that cousin Bob stopped by to see her, or got a card from cousin Norma.

So used to internet to find two cousins so far to relay the news that Aunt Betty was in the nursing home. Cousin Norma was so glad I called her and said don't be a stranger anymore, call her. And she plans on visiting Aunt Betty soon. Cousin Bob's wife said she was grateful I had called them. They always stop to see Aunt Betty when they went shopping. Both were amazed that the Oklahoma gal had to tell the NY people.

And called the nursing home too, Aunt Betty is resting but I might be able to speak with her for a few minutes in the late afternoon. :D will have to see if she is up to it.

And so I am feeling joy, I can't be there in person but just maybe others can be there for her.

Gotta get back to the laundry

Sigh vent warning;Today I got a bill for a flu shot I paid for in cash in Sept. I'm not paying for this twice; hoping I can locate the receipt. I'm NOT going to go to W-mart for it again after this next yr. I'll go somewhere else. Update I found the receipt in less than three min. yea! This has given me mojo. to clear out a few piles in my office.

Dgd is here I did not get the message about the timing of her arrival today it was later than usual. Found out the schedule for her next year trying not to freak out about less hours.

It is sunny 8-) and nice out here we've found two eggs and on hen is waiting in line waiting for their turn at the favorite nest box.

I've been able to work on the kitchen and dining room and got the table presentable. Did my 5 mi. on the exercise bike today.

I enjoyed BBC yesterday instead of the bowl game.

OK, taking another study break, more like an end to my studies break. I have 30 verses, 4.5 pages, ready for today. That is likely enough -- though one never knows. My brain is tired of Hebrew so I'm going to do something else.

Dd17's tutoring in Detroit has been cancelled, likely due to snow - it has snowed off and on all day - so she can take dd14 to synchro. Otherwise, we'd have to leave in 5 minutes to get dd14 to synchro and then get myself to Hebrew by 5.

I've kept laundry going; lol #4 is ready to be put in the dryer. I need to fold lol #3 that is currently in the dryer. The dw has been only partially unloaded. I think I'll go get those things done before I leave. I'll probably go warm up my car in 15 minutes. The synagogue is very close - and class actually starts at 5:05.

And so I am feeling joy, I can't be there in person but just maybe others can be there for her.

Sadie, this made me feel joy too!!

I sure hope you can find that receipt, nancy. What a pain.

Ivy, how many places do you submit stories to?

Well, this has been a challenging day. Since I've been working so hard in the house recently and this weekend non-stop, I thought I'd have a quiet day and just putter around a bit. Didn't turn out that way.

Didn't get all the laundry done I was hoping to do.
Didn't get all the desk chores done. Some important stuff there.

Took a truck down to jobsite, went with DH to supply store; got dropped back at the house. Had to go back to supply store and pick up item left there for fixing and take to him. THEN he tells me he forgot drinks and coolers so I came all the way home and got them and took them back.

I think I'm a little burned out because of the social thing last evening. I need a quiet day after all that. Oh, my, 6 weeks of that...

My computer keyboard just failed. I was having trouble typing today and thought it was me, but my S key literally came off while typing so I'm thinking my fingers were stuttering over it earlier today.

Still really haven't managed to to anything.

After my last post, ds pinged me and asked to drop by (he was at the dentist.) So he came for a hug, pickup mail and show us he new tooth (same tooth, but the hole has been filled.) He still has two other visible holes but they are lower on the list of priority than the ones that hurt so next Monday another back tooth will be filled. He's still having trouble eating pain-free but it is getting better, he thinks. The issue is that as the worst tooth is fixed, he realizes other teeth hurt as well, so at this point it is more like Whack-a-mole. Once they are all filled, maybe he won't hurt any more.

In the meantime, I shudder to think what the bills will be like but will pay them. He gets the first several hundred dollars from me (since I gave his sister airline tickets last year for Christmas.) After that, I'll add it to his debt with me but won't expect repayment until after he returns from Australia. The deal is that he can't go to Australia until all the dental stuff is fixed.

His coming over sparked me to get into the shower and I managed to s2s before he arrived which was excellent work on my part.

We left for choir on time and had a good practice. Then picked up the mail.

Now I'm distracted again because I've had to move into the dining room and am working on an icky keyboard. I need to look up my receipt for my computer because I'm pretty sure it is still under warranty. But I'll be computerless for a day while they repair it.

Like Nancy, I found the receipt quickly and discovered I bought an on-site warranty. Woot!!!! Now to find someone with quick access to a keyboard for me. I can't use my laptop as a laptop right now (it needs an additional keyboard and mouse and our extra keyboard is actually bigger than my laptop!) Dh has a small bluetooth keyboard I can use in a pinch. Thankfully we are well equipped here and never toss anything.

Hello, villagers ~
I'm having not the best of days.

1) This morning worked on what should have been a very easy financial report and could not get it to balance. Luckily I'm ahead of deadline so set it aside until this evening.

2) Dentist appointment for cleaning. Need to have an old filling replaced. :( Not urgent, though, so made appt for the 21st and hope the weather will cooperate.

3) Tried to stock up on groceries. They were out of a few things on my list. Long line to check out. While I was waiting, an employee came up and tried to sell me a credit card. :x

Oh well, as the guy in Young Frankenstein said, "Could be worse ... could be raining." :)
