Re: Monday Thoughts
A few crackers, a few spoonfuls of apple sauce and some gingerale are in me. We'll see how that goes. Still in bed. I've been here since 8:30 (the last time I was up to the bathroom.)

Re: Monday Thoughts
Cowinkie, some of my friends who get migraines also end up throwing up. One friend would do this monthly. . . I can't imagine. It sounds awful. Glad your dfriend is home safely!!
I've been intending the watch the first episode of the 3rd season of Downton Abbey for quite a while now -- but I need a good 2 hour chunk of time, and those are rare in my life. I'm thinking next week. Dh will be out of town, which means I can watch what I want in the evenings, and dgirls will be on break. . .
((Ivy)) ((MT)) with muscle and neck pains. . .
MT, I checked your blog to see if there were any remodel photos i hadn't seen -- and I was rewarded with the photos of your dining area with the bamboo blinds. The blinds look great and the area is absolutely darling!! And your fireplace and TV are cleverly integrated. Your house looks so nice and cozy; you seem to have a gift for pulling things together in a home - colors, textures, space.
Thank you dove for the kind remarks! Yes, it is nice to have a few things in our schedule cancelled. It is especially nice for dd14; I know dh worries about her that she has too much going on. But I honestly think she is happy and enjoying herself with all the extra activities. Unfortunately, dd17 has informed me that tutoring tonight has not been cancelled after all. Your visit with your friend sounds fabulous. How nice to have a friend like that!
((blessed's dd)) Maybe a better job will eventually show up. Yes, life can be interesting sometimes.
Done: not much.
/ a.m. routine - still need to make my bed
x went through phone messages trying to determine if dd14's appt. really is this afternoon. Deleted old ones.
x called the derm. office; her appt. is this afternoon as I had recorded on my calendar
x short ribs out of the freezer
x took dd14 in for bloodwork
x emailed ds to tell him that apparently he has a derm. appt. Wed. a.m., which is odd since that is just 2.5 weeks after his previous appt. I know he has an exam Wed. night too so he'd probably like more time to study.
x lunch
Next:
-make bed
-switch laundry

Re: Monday Thoughts
Hello Dear Ladies,
So sorry to hear some of the ladies are sick. Sending healing thoughts to you.
It is sunny here, 53 degrees but when the wind blows it feels cold. No snow, patches of green grass are showing.
Spent the weekend at work doing more price changes on winter things and stocking summer things.
Had an early morning appointment with doctor. Couldn't sleep very well last night so I'm just puttering since returning home. Goal is to get laundry done.
Am feeling a bit better about Aunt Betty. Joan called over the weekend with a message that she had been moved to the permanent nursing home part and her new room number. Will work on getting another letter and card out to Aunt Betty. Realize that most likely I won't get to talk to her again but it is ok. There are only so many opportunities to do something in life and this is one of those that have ended.
DH is having anxiety issues again over Dsons. He doesn't like the decisions they make. Not bad decisions just isn't what he would do and he gets so upset about it. As long as they aren't planning to rob the bank, I don't really care. But there is a lot of tension and I think it makes dsons do things that they might not do if he would just let them figure it out themselves.
The laundry is calling me.

Re: Monday Thoughts
Ds sat on the bed and regaled me with stories from the ski hill. It was busy. At one point they had 3 ambulances at the hill and a helicopter on standby. One member of the ski patrol saw the worst of the accidents happen as he was going up on the lift with his 9 year old son. He told the son to hang on tight, kicked off his skis, told his son to ski straight back to the lodge and not stop at the accident on the way down, then lifted the safety bar and jumped off the lift in order to be first on the scene. It was really, really bad (that's the one with the helicopter.)
He also had a fulfilling time with a 12 year old kid with a damaged knee. That wasn't serious and so after immobilizing and taking the kids to the clinic, they carried him to the car and the dad took him to the hospital. The ski hill is 45 minutes away from ds's hospital so most people go to the nearby towns' hospitals, but this family was also from the city so they went to ds's hospital and the kid spotted ds there that evening when he was working and came and chatted for a while. It was nice for him to get the 'rest of the story.'
He's back now with my video so I need to get up and moving a bit. Maybe watch this downstairs in a recliner, with clothes on. Still haven't been out of bed yet.

~~~Waving Hi to all~~~~
I'm a devoted Downton Abbey fan too, but can't watch it when it airs on TV here. So I watch it online. Sometimes it takes me several days to watch an episode, but the online marker seems to remember when I left off and starts at the right spot the next time I return.
DSis and I teamed up this morning to get DMom tooth fixed (semi-emergency status). I took DMom to her dentist (1 hour drive each way). DSis stayed with DDad while we were gone. DMom's dentist was better than wonderful. He knows DParents fragile health status and immediately worked DMom in. >>>.So thankful for caring and thoughtful medical care givers!<<<<<
According to DMom someone somewhere at Hospice has decided that one of DDads meds cost too much so they aren't going to give it to him anymore. He has enough to last until Wednesday. I've pleaded to get involved and spoken as strongly as I can without being disrespect to DMom multiple times over the past couple of weeks. She is firm in her decision to let them stop DDad med (he doesn't know). Now I must hush and respect DMom's decision.
I have less than an hour to catch my breath before picking up LO from school. Sounds like a perfect time to start watching part of last night DA episode.
Re: Monday Thoughts
Tried to have a nap. Today I had a Buckley's daytime pill (Big yellow ones for cold, cough and flu.) When I woke up I listened to my breathing and it sounded rattly. Called dh to the bedroom and told him to make me a Dr. appt for anytime this week. (Dr. has Fridays off) My appt is for 8 a.m. tomorrow morning.
So I have tomorrow off work and I still don't get to sleep in.
I'm sitting here with some Mott's "Homestyle" applesauce and a hot tea.
Re: Monday Thoughts
Cathy: it is no-name applesauce for me. I told dh to buy me the single serving packs last time I was sick (it keeps going bad in my fridge) and he went to two stores, couldn't find any so bought a small jar. What I hadn't told him is that the single serving packs would be with pudding, not fruit. For that, I get mad at grocery stores and their illogical arrangement of foods.
I'm awake after napping for a while. Before going to sleep, I got up, gave myself a sponge bath and changed clothes. That wiped me out so I napped. I've now finished my apple sauce serving and crackers. I can hear that dh and ds are starting to cook dinner. I won't be eating any of that.
I haven't been up even 15 minutes yet today. So I'm really, really, sick.
Re: Monday Thoughts
Awww (((Kathryn))), so sorry to read you're sick.
DGS7months is doing a little better. DDIL#1 stayed there last evening and held him while he slept about 2 hours. DDIL#2 was able to get a nap. DDIL#1 said he's still quite congested but his color is better than Saturday -I would hope! Think he was pretty blue then. DDIL#2 texted a really cute picture of him sitting up in the hospital crib with his IV attached and his hand wrapped so he wouldn't pull it out. He's doing so much more in just the short time since they left here. Saying a couple of words & standing and sitting alone.
Have a council meeting via skype tonight at 8. Hoping that goes ok this time. Have a women's meeting at church here in the morning. Then dsisil, her 2 sisters and I are taking dsisil for lunch for her birthday. No fair, says I -all theirs are from Feb -March. Mine comes in May AFTER we go home.
Have chili cooking on the stove. Warm out but have to fix something and that sounded easiest for me tonight. And something dd can warm up for her dinner when she gets home around 8pm from school. Her days are very long!
Time to go stir (or is that stir crazy?)
Re: Monday Thoughts
I always have single serving cups of apple sauce on hand for the kids in case we run out of fresh fruit for their lunches. The girls don't eat them very often; ds would eat them pretty often when he was here b/c the only fresh fruit he would take in his lunch was a banana, and we always went through our bananas pretty quickly. At my grocery store, the single serving cups of apple sauce are located with the canned fruit, right above the larger jars of apple sauce, actually.
Oh, my! Dgs7mos. is in the hospital, Dee! I think I've missed something. . . Maybe I should check J & C.
I'm having trouble getting motivated today. . .Since the last post, I did finish the a.m. routine, got a 2nd lol washed, got the crock pot started with the ribs, took dd14 to her Dr. appt., have the sweet potatoes prepped and in the oven.
Ds' appt. this week is with the travel clinic, not derm. He needs some immunizations for his upcoming trip to Guyana.
Next:
-switch laundry
-prep brussel sprouts for steaming
Re: Monday Thoughts
Waving from Tuesday.
So sorry you have been sick Kathryn and Okay (and family). Hoping you are better soon Kathryn.
Cluster headaches are the pits Cowinkle.
MT - Hoping your neck gets used to being in its proper place.
Prayers for young folk and there parents making subject choices. DGS's HS is one of the not very open to change ones. He had to make decisions in Primary School on long lasting high school choices. I think he had a couple of choices again this year for yr 9.
I just noted the time. I'm needing a shower and hair wash. breakfast. and a phone call to make.
Made the phone call. One less commitment today - though if I really move going out is still a possibility.
Heavy arms today. I think I need look at my out of house activities as there are things here neglected - even by my standards - and I am eternally feeling tired. Finding the balance. tricky for me it seems.
Living this day, today
Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.
Look for the good in all.
