Hi Everyone. I was awake earlier than usual also, waking a little before 7 am, but dozed until my alarm sounded at 8. Dh had a 10 am Dr appt with oncology dr. The only other errand we had was the post office.
((LO)) and ((OKay)). I'm sorry to have no other advice to add to others'. I've never experienced that with my 3 dsons other than the initial nervous reactions during the first couple of weeks getting used to being in nursery school away from home.
((Hugs)) for Harriet's ((dgs 1.5)) and dfam. Is he too young to have a scary dream?
Nancy, it's so nice that your dgd has a good time at dgrma's house!
We're supposed to have thunderstorms tomorrow. It feels really humid outside now. The predicted rain missed us on Sun except for a few sprinkles. We really do need the rain. I talked to ds#3 a little while ago and he's still hoping for snow sometime this season so they can go sledding! I told him he should move to Kansas! Just kidding him though, that would be even further away from us to visit!
I've liked your posts Lynlee with all those good quotes. Very interesting to see others philosophy on things. I've talked you to all in my head (and sometimes out loud) while cuop. Everyone stay safe and warm in the stormy weather happening now!

Re: Monday Motivation
Hi everyone. No Monday Motivation over here. As I suspected last night, I am sick. I did not go to work today and do not intend to go tomorrow. I do have to get my taxes done at 2:00 tomorrow and still have some calculations to do, but will do tomorrow. I have done almost nothing today other than lying in bed. I did have lunch (chicken noodle soup) and have taken care of the catbox, but that is it. Dinner is heating up and I will do something on the box work, but probably not much. I am really glad I did my grocery shopping yesterday. Just don't feel like it today. I am hoping to be back to near normal on Wednesday because I want to go to Bible study. My boss is in the class too, so I would be foolish to skip work and go to the study.
Dinner is ready. Gotta go.

Re: Monday Motivation
Get well soon, Elizabeth.
Sunny, I guess you will have as long a time of it (rain) as I will. They are saying 24 hours of rain. I got some of the recyclables/trash handled early.
But the main thing I got done before the rain was helping HRH get our new elliptical into the house and arranged. Yes, a victory of sorts here, in that the long, long decision-making process about whether our family really wants to try a piece of workout equipment is over. We purchased a sensible mid-price, mid-size elliptical with good reviews, and had them assemble it for us, got it in place without much fuss. It's in the corner of the bedroom by the window, and the upholstered chair is moved over to give it space. Doesn't look bad at all. Works quietly, at least so far. When dd was on it I thought I was hearing the cat kneading paws on something. HRH is the real owner, since I have so many options with video workouts.
Are you performing in the vaudeville event, Emptynester? Got a photo of your crafty doin's?
Ds27 thinks there is a good possibility what happened last night was due to constipation/digestive issues. They have gone over and over what was eaten yesterday, and it could make sense. The statistics on night terrors suggest that they are really very rare, that they usually don't start until an older age, and that they don't usually happen that long after falling asleep. So there is some relief after learning all this. We hope it is not the other alternative either, which is the beginning of an ear infection. They are thinking maybe he doesn't even remember last night. He has been "himself" today, thank goodness.

Re: Monday Motivation
{Elizabeth} Sorry you are ill.
We had such a windy day here [ack] so glad it's not in the forecast for tomorrow again like that yea!!!
We had planned left overs take out chicken and some cooked pumpkin for an easy dinner.
Got to pet the baby chickens with the grand kids getting the chicks used to being handled and people and other household noise like the laundry etc.
Dgson was here and worked on his spelling words he's getting to understand what is expected of him and "knows the drill" now for those so that helps. Now we are applying that drill for times tables he's reviewing.
H.'s co. has a big job pouring concrete at work tomorrow.

Re: Monday Motivation
Harriet ... I started getting night terrors when I started taking my blood pressure meds right before going to bed. When I moved the time to dinner they stopped. The night terrors were getting so bad I was afraid of going to sleep.
When my son was small.... Around 3 or 4..... He started having night terrors. My dr told me it's common in kids that age. After some time my son told me an older boy had told him that monsters attack at night. I talked to his friend who was 12 and told the friend since he created the problem he needed to fix it. The kid gave my son a matchbox car to put in his window sill and told my son it would protect him. Then he told my son he had some magical powder.....it was really baking flour..that he was going to put in the grass around the house to form a protective ring that monsters were afraid of. We even put some in my sons window sill. It worked.

Re: Monday Motivation
dd1 had night terrors. They possibly started around 18mth, and the last I know of she was 16. Caught in between asleep and awake. As an 18 mth old she would have them after daytime naps and would last for hours, so I got to try everything in my power to avoid her sleeping in daytime. When they began again at night when she was older (I forget how old), if I could get her onto auto pilot, and steer her half asleep to toilet, then a drink of water, she would wake enough to go back to sleep. again - with no knowledge of it in morning. l' tryptophan ?sp? helped her once she was older and we tried that - before govt banned it here. It used help me too with sleep pattern..
I'm glad you like the quotes sunny. It takes time finding ones might be helpful to us as home/family makers sharing our journeys together. Theres an interesting mob of birthday people today - tuesday. Finding quotable quotes... can be testing.
Rain falling here enough to fill a bucket or more atm. last few days. 3rd flood in 4 weeks for some places. Homes and businesses affected.
DBro is having health checks today.
