ci: while dgbaby takes nap!
* whew * It is just all-consuming to have a baby around, isn't it?
But those little smiles make it all worthwhile! :D

He & I went out to dparents, rode out by ddad's pasture, visited dmil, and we've both had our suppers.
I ate waaay, waaay too much, I suppose b/c I felt I was "earning" it, being so good to everybody else.

BIG Congratulations to Cowinkie's ds AND dniece!!!

Also congratulations to S&R, helia!

Definitely ALWAYS jeans at our school, Harriet -- although we are also seeing (unfortunately) a lot of the tights & skinny jeans now... and sometimes it is extremely difficult to distinguish between the two! If they are wearing tights, their tops are supposed to be approximately knee length. If they are wearing "skinny jeans" -- tops may be shorter.
I don't see why this is a problem, (I cannot IMAGINE wearing EITHER look, myself) but apparently, a large number of young ladies have not yet got the memo that their legs are NOT skinny enough to wear the skinny jeans OR the tights.
I just keep looking at them, squeezed into these pants (which are often bright colored, btw) and I think, "WHO told them this was attractive???"

As I have said before, as fuddy-duds go, I am the fuddiest of the duds. I am chief among fuddy duds.
* sigh *

Harriet - tell HRH I loved the U tube.

We headed to big town today but only were able to do 1/2 of our errands before I saw that DH was getting tired. But we got new locks and outside door handles for both doors, keyed to our old key, granite sealer for the counter tops, and dark film for the west windows now that it is getting into the 90's.

I needed to get the lever type of door knobs as I can't turn the round ones any more with Uncle Arthur in my thumbs.

We had fish tacos and then *finally* found the ink for my printer. Now I just have to remember what I need to print.

We wanted to go to tile discount place and H4H to try to find a cabinet for over my washer. But you just do what you are up to - we will go another day.

I did nap for a while but still felt awful when I got up. I had a little cry because I'm tired of feeling awful. I had taken the ice packs up to do physio before napping but just napped instead.

The phone woke me up and I had to answer it because dh was on a conference call. It was ds. We had chatted a bit IMing earlier in the day (he'll get to do an interview for an extra job at the hospital which he's hoping to get.) Dfs has rented a townhouse starting May 1 but did so too late to get a May 1 termination of the apartment lease so they've put in for the apartment to gone May 15. I hope it comes through because it makes no sense for either of them to paying for an extra place. I've told ds I want him in here by May 5 because I'm tired of him moving home when I'm away! (Which he's done twice.) He thinks he might be able to make the whole move using just his car and maybe mine. The joys of owning IKEA furniture!

Dh cooked burgers for dinner and I made up popcorn but couldn't eat mine due to coughing fits. Had to change my clothes. Twice. Load of laundry on now.

The kitchen is half tidied up. The laundry just buzzed so I think I'll start the dishwasher. It isn't full but I don't care at this point, I just want something completed today.

Harriet: I had come across that video elsewhere today. It is always fascinating to me when I get a recommendation to watch something from two very different places.

Right-O, I have done all that I can tonight to get ready for the morning.

Laundry is all caught up and I've lined up outfits for the 3 days so I won't have to spend any more time thinking about clothes.

While it was still light this evening, I put everything in the car that would not be ruined by freezing. I was very stern with myself about not over-packing and tried to be realistic about what I am likely to have time to sew in between chatting with everyone.

That means in the morning, I just need to load my sewing machine, netbook in its padded bag, 2 bags of groceries, thermos of coffee, and clipboard with essential data.

My alarm is set for 5:30 so I can get in the shower and wash my hair long before DH gets up at 6:30. Of course, the cats expect attention before I can do anything for myself, and I'm also building in extra time because I move very slowly in the mornings.

I would like to be on the road before 7:30 so will not have time to check in here before I leave. We're supposed to have wi-fi there, which is why I'm bothering to carry the netbook.

Harriet ~ I'm glad you were able to solve the jeans problem so quickly. Absolutely, if you can find any clothes at Goodwill in the time you have available, that is the best solution.

Lucylee ~ Babies are the best! That is, until they get to be toddlers -- and then toddlers are the best! :)

Oh my... I just printed out the retirement forms from the state website.
My stomach hurts.

lucylee, you will do fine retired. Remember when you couldn't imagine having a ddil and then a grandbaby? They have added so much to your life. You have earned the choice to retire. I know it is scary but I also know that you will be glad you are retired when school starts again.

BookSaver, enjoy your sewing retreat.

Harriet, I loved the commercial. The other day I seen a help wanted sign for a security guard, at our Goodwill. As reasonable as their prices are, it is sad that they need a security guard.

MT, glad that you were able to at least do half the errands before your dh started getting too tired.

I can't remember what else I wanted to post. I went to bed at 10 and was still awake an hour later, so I just got up. That will really mess me up.

Oh, I know, Lilac... or at least, I think I know (that I will do okay as a retired person)!

I know my stomach would be hurting, too, if I thought I was going to have to teach next year. Get this: they (the remaining teachers) are all being forced to go to 4-day out-of-town workshops to learn this new AP Prep teaching curriculum! Y'all KNOW how well I would handle THAT! Oh. My. Goodness.

Besides the sheer panic I would feel at the idea of staying for the first year of the chaos that may be in store...
there are just sooo sooo many reasons it is TIME to go.
My parents are going to need me more...
DS & Ddil are going to need me more...
and I will enjoy sooo much --
sleeping more
reading more
exercising more
getting back into some semblance of housekeeping routines
seeing movies on week nights
watching late night tv
being able to just go & do whatever strikes our fancy (dh & myself)
-- although I am sure we will not be totally footloose & fancy free, since we are in such a bind between the needs of dmil, my dparents, and ds/ddil/dgs. But when it is all said and done, I guess dh & I would both say that family is our #1 priority, so we wouldn't really change a thing. Except maybe to make sure ddil never had to work weekends. ;)

And you are so right to remind me about past panic attacks that turned into the most wonderful blessings of my LIFE!

I'm so glad you hadn't gone to bed yet! ;)

Good things --
In the midst of my stomach ache, (and over the course of the night, along w/watching-feeding-changing-playing with dgs)
I have still managed to
* sort out money for change for newspaper sales tomorrow @ school
* download photos to Wmart site
* wash & hang to dry 2 loads of clothes
* wash dgson's pants & socks (b/c one diaper change required wardrobe change, if you know what I mean...)
* wash dgson's bottles
* straighten up den (put away quilt, bouncy seat, and toys)
* read the paper
* return phone call to dcousin
* talk to duncle on phone
* talk to dfriend on phone
* eat supper (waaay too much supper)
* watch the news & see the new Pope

I really really REALLY need to exercise, but it is almost 12:30. I believe I also need to get ready for bed.
