It has been a pretty good day. I started and DH finished getting the door knobs changed on the front door. I hope he gets the back door done tomorrow.

He rolls around on the office chair. He is still walking with the walker but putting a bit more weight on his leg.

SURPRISE!!! The ER Dr. called to see how he was doing. He also wanted to check if we had made a follow up appointment. (we had). I don't EVER remember an ER doc doing that.

Driving turned awfully foul here. Bad accident on the highway down by the Seaway. Glad we weren't headed there tonight (will need to go soon to get the oil changed in the car.)

Dinner was Chinese for dh and frozen food for me. I've done nothing all afternoon except watch the Grandfather clock be returned. It is nice to have it back. It even has a second hand now (hasn't had one of those for decades.) He included the moving costs on the bill so when it is time to move, I'll call him, he'll take the insides and we'll have the movers handle the case. Once we are settled, he'll bring the insides and install them for us. That way, the clock will stay safe from harm. He's also installed a dampener on the chime so we won't get complaints in the apartment.

Spent some time figuring out our flights to Europe. Going via Iceland will save 50% so we are going to stopover there on the way home and spend 5 days in the country. I haven't actually bought the tickets but will this weekend.

Glad to see Dee's news.

Waving to y'all...

I need to do the conga, but had a very pleasant lunch with many of my retired friends. The group has decided to meet once a month at a cafe not far from here. It was a so nice to see friends that had retired long before myself. And it was a treat to meet many who's names I had heard of over my teaching years but never had the pleasure to meet.

Then I spent the remainder of the afternoon running errands as I headed home. Guess I will work on the house tomorrow and gather my tax information on Sunday. We have a car show planned for tomorrow night. It was 93* today...it broke the record...and that means I need to swap my closet. I hate that job. However its the time that I purge my winter clothes and I like that. Looks like there is a GW run on the horizon for me.

I have most of what I need for my rafting trip ...I need to find an inexpensive rain suit...hello a mazon here I come, and by some really, really good sunscreen. Other then a few othe minor items I am ready to go. My tent is set up and sitting here in my office with me. Took me less than 5 minutes to set up, but I still need to figure out the right way to adjust the rain fly. Thats the separate part that goes over the tent to keep the rain out. I don't expect it to rain while I'm gone, but the fly also helps to keep the heat in the tent. The tent itself is mostly screen with a water proof floor and sides. Great for star gazing and it keeps the bugs out. I will probably wear the same outer clothes for the three days...but will be staying at a motel the night before the trip and the night we come off the river. Its about a 4.5 hr drive from here and after spending all day rafting on the river, I believe I'll bit a bit tired to drive home.

Lots of positive things going on here at the villiage and I am so glad to see it. We've been do for some good luck around here :D
