Thinking Through Thursday

Good afternoon everyone! Tonight's plan is: dinner at Cracker Barrel, art class (where I will show off my Barbie dress), register compiler, wrap a gift, put stuff in eggs, transfer crochet project to a different bag (freeing up my reusable grocery bag). The church is having the Living Last Supper today, but I have seen it already and am going to class instead.

I am not sure what to do tomorrow, there are two things I want to do! Church is having a service of darkness. I NEED to get more cat food and since it is prescription only, I must drive halfway to the crochet group. I promised the group I would show off my completed projects this week, but the church service is at 7:00. Maybe if I just drop in for the group and spend only 10 or 15 minutes, I can pull off all three.

Thanks go out to sadie for reminding me I need to finish taxes. I am going to call HR Block as soon as I hit submit on this message!

ETA: I have come and gone from HR Block. I am getting a refund, but had to pay the preparer's fees. March is an expensive month with Easter, taxes, and upcoming ceiling repair!

Elizabeth, I think I forgot to tell you that I saw the dress, the American Girls dress, and was very impressed!! Great work!! You remind me of dd14's sewing/design teacher; her educational background is in physics, but she loves sewing and designing clothes - children's clothes for her.

Back from dd14's lesson. They had some trouble with the material and the serger so had to remake a ruffle, which means the skirt won't be done in time for Easter. It will look fantastic another day. I walked during her lesson, an hour. That is 1.5 WW points (I believe).

I'll miss you, elly - but I understand completely. I take breaks from time to time too. Best wishes to you! Maybe you could come say "hi" once in a while, as someone else here said.

Rice and tamales are going. I'm going to cut up some grapefruit - and that will be supper. simple. . . Hoping to eat in 15 minutes.

ellyphant, we MORE than enjoy playing and working with you. I had wanted to respond to you yesterday about kinda feeling down. I hope you will be back soon. Miss you already.

Ellyphant I agree that Lowes has nice people working for them. One of them was at my table tonight. He works overseeing the in-home installation departments across a lot of the stores in my province. So he's on the road all the time, going from store to store. We were babysitting his kids tonight and he made it home in time to join us for dinner. His wife (our church musician) dropped the boys off, and he arrived about 45 minutes later. She was done by 7:30 and back at my house in time to join us for dessert (but we fed her dinner, there was enough left over, despite everyone having lots and ds taking a full steak dinner for his overnight meal.)

Dd's god-brother, J, seemed fine and we had a lovely evening with him as well. He'll come back out on Sunday for Easter dinner too. So I guess he was just being a lazy young man (not wanting to go out, not responding to contact with his family.) He's having a rough time figuring out the whole school thing, he should be finishing his second year but only has 1.5 years worth of credits and wants to change his major but he's not sure what and is thinking of abandoning it all and starting over somewhere else. It is hard for him because his older sister is a driven engineering student and doing extraordinarily well. Kind of the same dynamics we had with dd and ds. He's not yet 21 so he has time to mature just as ds did. The two boys seem a lot closer now that they are older. The age difference is the same (they are almost exactly 4 years apart) but now that J's a young adult, the age difference isn't as significant as it was when all the kids were teens or younger.

Dd emailed asking for a phone call today and so we chatted with her for a while before starting to work on dinner.

Our singing went well and lunch was delicious. Oh, and I got to the bank and did the year-end banking stuff (today was the last business day in our company's fiscal year.)

I'm exhausted but all the dishes are done up or in the dishwasher being washed. I iced my knees while on the phone with dd. I'll do that again now and will do a light round of physio. I'm walking much better now but still get twinges.

Tomorrow is a long morning but then the afternoon is free. I'm looking forward to some quiet.

Hi everyone! I was the only one at art class and made good progress. I have wrapped DD11 an Easter present (the night light) and stuffed plastic eggs. The eggs all have Sweet Tarts except two that have notes telling her places to look. She will find the night light in the top of the sewing room closet and the bookcase in the garage. I assembled her an Easter basket as well. It and the eggs are on top of the cabinets where she cannot see them. I have also put away some stuff and emptied the dishwasher and registered a compiler. I have also cleaned a totally disgusting catbox. DFosterCat13 is sick again, but at least there was no blood this time.

Friday has solved itself. Both my coworkers are not coming in tomorrow, so I will be able to leave early and get the cat food and go to the crochet/knit group. Then, I can leave that early and be in time for the church service.

Things left to do tonight: Transfer crochet to another bag and get together stuff I am taking tomorrow - DONE

I have stayed up much too late. I have started a small crochet project. DD saw the hairpiece on the American Girl doll and wanted one for herself (not for her doll, but for her own hair). I will get it finished tomorrow and put it in her Easter basket.
