I am usually pretty open to technology and anything instant. But I remain convinced that facebook can be a huge problem that divides as much as it includes. Was reading that several once-strong internet sites have gone down in recent years because all those who used to share information there are only going to facebook any more. They may even still be talking about the same subjects, but of course it's limited, not open. And new people who search find unused, sparsely-posted sites with only historic info, and move on.

OKay, as far as a ministerial staff being criticized because they are not available fast enough on facebook... ... obviously, that holds as much water as a sieve.

Per-day chat - as I had mentioned to mamapiano last week, I am fine with one social group or one social activity per day. In fact, that's enjoyable. When adding more, such as a doctor's appt for someone in the family added to a choir practice or baby shower the same day, or even a big shopping trip, etc., I become less efficient as I become less confident. It's not really that I don't have confidence in myself - I am quite certain I could run AT and T. I just recognize that my comfort zone is fading fast and anything can happen - I could have an attitude adjustment right there in the midst, LOL! :x :o And perhaps lose my graciousness with the grocery bagger, plus get very tired. Social stuff equals tiredness for me lately so much more than it used to.

I can't let multiple events keep me from being on my game, since anything can happen in my household.

Oh, Emptynester just posted. Check out the iron that is easy on the tummy. Feosol makes one. I believe I have a memory of helia and I chatting about this back when my dmom had to take iron.

Got to the hospital today in time to have a brief between-examinations chat with my dear uncle before he was taken by ambulance to a rehab center. This is a disappointment. However, it is a step toward home. He is now much farther away from me, more difficult to visit.

Thanks, Kathryn.

Hi everyone! My ceiling is finished!!! While she worked on the ceiling, I worked on the database project, and made good progress. I did make a doctors appointment for 9:00 tomorrow. I looked online and the swelling looks like bursitis. Fun, fun. While I waited for some stuff to download for the database project, I got the dishwasher unloaded. Monday is errand day, so I had better think about the grocery store and the hardware store, and maybe something else, I have to check the list. Then I had better update Quicken and probably transfer some money. Maybe I will also do some filing.

((blessed's dd)) I don't like this. Hugs.

First snake of the year, guys, and it was a baby. You know what they say about a baby snake - betcha there's not just one! Obviously not only has Mama been crawling a while, she's had time to find a place to make her hatchery. So just be aware, okay? Obviously this means they are crawling by now in VA, even WV, and probably farther north. I get this rather eye-opening sign of spring right along with the lovely blossoms and bees, because I have 3 patrol ladies who live very close to the ground and think baby snakes are caviar. Believe me, there was no time to make an identification  but this one was so thin and long I don't think it was poisonous.

Btw, I've started a new thread in Outdoor Spaces and Gardens forum called "Wildlife around our homes" for photos and stories about wildlife, sightings. Already posted a photo HRH took today. (no, not of a snake).

Yuck. My first sign of spring today was some new life pushing through the ground in the church garden (which seems to be a zone at least 1 higher than our gardens since it grows things earlier and longer than any of my gardens.) Much better to see a few tulip leaves than a snake!

Got my x-ray. Picked up the mail. Came home to a null message on the answering machine. Dh's cell phone rang only moments after the message was left so I told dh it was ds that called. He wanted to know why I thought that (the call-display on his phone said private number) and I said that it was someone that called the house, we weren't home so they called your phone. Had to be ds plus the hospital blocks caller ID. Sure enough, I was right. He came out and picked up parcels that had arrived for him and stayed for supper.

I've spent the evening finding a cheap solution back from Australia. One way flights are expensive. In business class they are really expensive. And flights from Australia are really, really, expensive. It cost 50% more for someone to fly to Sydney to Ottawa and home, than from Ottawa to Sydney and home. Eventually, I found premium economy flights that will work. Won't be super comfortable like business class but they cost 1/3 and have enough legroom that I'll be able to stretch out my legs.

I booked a lunch with a friend tomorrow and have Presbytery tomorrow night so I'm going off to bed shortly. Dh is boiling the last of our sap now.

Errands are run. Quicken must be updated and probably money transferred. This has been an expensive month. Will do Quicken, cat care, then shower. Got to remember tomorrow's doctor appointment.

Hello everybody. Well, anybody still up that is. I must start getting here earlier.

Some progress made. Computer is still working fine, as long as I use the mouse with "purpose" and not a half-hearted little click. Faster too. She cleaned up a couple of my annoying things at startup.

I did almost 4 hours of paperwork this morning. Lots more important stuff done. There is one issue to take care of, dpc about that in the morning. Might be more bad news for us, I hope not.

Annoying business situation discussed with DH. All he said was well I thought so. After I stewed over it for a week.

Picked up the car finally about dinnertime. It's running well so far. No overheating and there was still water in the reservoir when I got home. Nice big fat check written to the guy who helped us with all this. Could have been more I guess.

Today's laundry is done in the dryer. I didn't have enough energy to hang it up. Don't know what's the matter with me these days, I never seem to have any energy for things. Might need to discuss this with Dr. at end of May.

Thursday is a church memorial service after dinner time and since it's so late we'll just have veggie and fruit trays, desserts and drinks. I'm bringing veggies. Sunday I'm signed up to help with adult baptisms. Last time we had 80.

(MT) I hope the iron fixes Mr. MT right up. Wondering if I need some of that.
