HaHa, bigfoot!

I am cuop, being away from the computer quite a few days. My computer is not portable and I simply didn't feel like traipsing all the way back here...and some days just could not..

Sorry to read of so many challenges in villagers' lives. I guess things never stay calm for very long, do they?

Thursday I spent a few hours making cookies at the church for ministries that were happening over the weekend. Then I went to check on DH doing some volunteer work in a building with the teens...except none of the teens showed up. So I stayed the evening helping him. It was hard demo work, and at one point I fell splat! straight down on my knees, tripping over a board. I was afraid to get up I'd hit so hard, but thankfully nothing was broken.

Ever since then I've been in recovery mode. Sportscreme is a wonderful invention, taking pain away. The first night I couldn't walk very well. Every day it gets a bit better. Sat. I had volunteered for a community outreach thing and hobbled along with 4 others to the veterans nursing home with platters of cookies and a bit of conversation with whoever wanted to chat. DH was out with a crew of his own building a deck with stairs and handicap ramp at a needy woman's house. He worked all day and then we worked all evening on a truck lock and putting all the equipment away.

It was too big a job for one day. He has to go back.

Sunday was small group. Today I went to meet a friend who was complaining she'd soon be going back up north to her 2nd home and we'd not gotten together yet...so we were to do breakfast except I think she forgot. I need to call her, but have waited till my attitude settles.

I guess I will limp out to the kitchen and see what's for dinner. Leftover something for sure. Not standing to cook!

Hi everyone! I survived the weekend. I now have an extremely packed freezer (ran out of containers!) and won't have to cook again for a month! I have not heard back from the doctor about my arm (broken? tendonitis? other?). I have volunteered to take in kittens this spring and still do not have any, which is very surprising. I asked for and got DD11 for the whole weekend next weekend. It will be very packed: church picnic on Saturday, Run for the Zoo (with DD's twin friends) on Sunday. This is the first time I have asked for DD the whole weekend. Usually XDH asks for her for one weekend, then I get her the next. So probably the following weekend will be by myself.

What I need to do in the remainder of the day:
finish cat show volunteer scheduling
pharmacy run
attic work
begin reclaiming sewing room (everything had to be moved for the ceiling and attic work)

What I need to do sometime this week:
get info on Run for the Zoo timing and parking
call twin friends' mom and tell her when I will be picking them up
get map for church picnic
find out if it is time for an oil change

What I will be doing right now: taking the meds I forgot at lunch!

I'm finally at a point where I can try to erase some of Bigfoot's handiwork. Picked up my Moses - he smells good but was trimmed up a little more than I intended. He will be cooler for summer, however.

Dh thought he had a meeting at six but texted that it's at seven, so he won't be home until after that. I may order a pizza.

Several phone calls and emails later I'm ready to work a little....
-clear kitchen counters
-empty dishwasher and reload
-clear tall breakfast area counter
-straighten up bedroom
-order pizza

Hello again. My arm is not broken. The doctor is going to check for gout next. Seems unlikely to me, but I am not an MD either. Unfortunately, there is not an appointment available where they will do the checking until June 21! I called him back to see if I should continue the current treatment until then, and the nurse volunteered to try to get me in earlier.

After I typed the 3rd sentence, XDH called. His house is being painted and DD11 does not like the fumes, so she is staying with me. I will have to get up early tomorrow to get her to school for Dragon Singers. Wednesday, I will have to get up early to get dFosterCat10 to the vet, so I will need to go to bed early. Gotta run to the pharmacy now. Bye.

* whew *
I feel like I've been away forever. Posted a little in J&C -- nothing major is going on -- just got started "talking" there & didn't hush.

I need to get things jumping a little bit here... last night I just blew off everything and it shows now. Dishes in the sink, laundry piling up, I don't know when I last s/s the bathrooms... and dgs will be here tomorrow night, I think.

Also have some paperwork that needs doing.

And I'm already ready to go to bed. :(

I will come back when I have at least 3 ta-da's to post. :P
Tomorrow is another day.

A sign!!! I was sent a sign!!!!

(Actually, an email asking me to preach at the church where I spent three weeks in February. So they know me and invited me back.)

We had a nice dinner of leftovers and then watched Galaxy Quest (a family favourite.)

LOL, Lucy, I'm ready to go to bed also. I'm just feeling wrung out. I didn't finish straightening up MBR yet and I still need to walk ddogs.

And before I could post this the rabbi came by to "check on me" so I just now got ddogs walked.

Great news, Kathryn! Where's the "like" button?

Yes, that seems unlikely, Elizabeth, but we here have certainly chatted a lot about gout and would be able to share some helps.

Happy for you, Kathryn, and of COURSE they wanted to have you again.

((Harmony)) are you badly blue? I would think you might be colorful! :(

Well, that was nice of him, Twins' Mom.

I've exercised. Evening Daily Card done well.

HRH says the zipper is 100 years old today. Now I have to look that up. It is actually National Zipper Day in the U.S. On April 29, 1913, Swedish-born scientist Gideon Sundback was issued a patent for his "Hookless Fastener." Will wonders never cease.
