Blurting out to Sadie - did you see that you were wished a happy birthday from so many villagers? I know you are busy and might have missed it since.... um.... it was all late!

Errands today to library, grocery and PO to finish up Desk Day. Dd had to email me she would be late to the car rider area because 2 other girls got into a shouting match in another class, and one teacher remembered from last semester that dd's known them for several years, asked to talk to her after school. Teacher wanted to know whether she thought a fight might be in the offing. She was able to respond absolutely not - they are not that kind of girls, just, sadly, reaching the end of a friendship and already embarrassed it affected anyone else. He was very relieved, she says, so I hope she's right!

lucylee, dd says to tell you her English teacher (seasoned and excellent, IMO) surprised them by starting R and J today. Wonder if he has some of the same feelings you do about end of year and getting to a classic? Anyway, he wants her to read Tybalt and "really let out the anger". LOL She says she's trying to be forceful! She says with every few lines they read, he is repeating, "Now, say it with FEELING." She says maybe freshmen aren't the ones for this play, though, because there are so many opportunities for juvenile/naughty humor, and the boys are finding every one.

Harriet and lucylee, what a literary coincidence! Dd14 here is in the middle of R and J!! :) I believe her English class spent most of the year on classics, well not as old as Shakespeare. Orwell, Steinbeck, Harper Lee - that's all I can remember off the top of my head. . .

I've been working on filing and paper work all this time. Ds and I ordered a pizza and I kept working. I need to take the dogs for their walk.

Hi, Gals! Twins, did you get the synagog check thing fixed?

(Blessed) I don't have any advice. I just wish there was some way your Mother would do those wrong things and you and your family could just shrug and say, there she goes again - without all the hurt. It just seems to me that you and your DDaughters have unrealistic expectations of her, seeing the way she is. I guess that sort of "oh whatever" attitude has to be cultivated early before expectations grow. (Now I'm thinking about in-laws I don't have any expectations about, because there never was much caring.) Sheesh. What do I know?

Did too much walking. Boy is my knee sore. Got a lot of paper chores done and stuff at a couple banks. Then I did a bit of shopping. Got a nice set of capris and a pair of slacks. The slacks were expensive and I wouldn't have paid that price for them, but they let me use 2 coupons so they ended up cheap! I love a bargain.

I volunteer tomorrow morning to put something together at church; DH volunteers to work in the new church office space tomorrow eve. and our committee has a meeting then too. Way too much volunteering lately.

I'm off to bed.

thanks so much for helping me on this issue. Sincere and grateful I am for having all of you to ask for honest opinions. I also think your right that I have unrealistic expectations that she will see this as important. I think she understands but doesn't. I know she cares it's just sometimes she can't see. I just don't want her to be hurt in the long run either. I let it go and I plan on celebrating the day! and thanks for all the advice and wise words.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

I had a wonderful weekend at DSon home. We had 4 generations together and treasured the moments. I was so very pleased for LO, he didn't get sick a single time! Hopefully the days of LO not traveling well are behind us.

I have an early dentist appt tomorrow, so need to get some Zzzzzz. Sweet dreams!

Still alive.

Hotel internet is really slow and I need a hotel for tomorrow night. Tonight's is better than last nights (and 20 cheaper) but I'm still looking at Homewood Suites with envy. There are none along our route where I want to stop so we'll probably end up at a Holiday Inn Express. Seems expensive ($30 more than here) but is the cheapest alternative I've found so far.

Great visit with the new baby today. He quieted down every time I held him so we were invited to stay for dinner and play pass the baby.

Grumble. No Smoking rooms on this hall but smoking rooms are around the corner. Smoke is bad enough that I've put a towel across the bottom of the door.

Opened window but that is a crap shoot since I'm over the front door and people light up outside the door.

I decided to put this here instead of J & C. Daunt was to have bypass surgery today. She has always been proud of and fortunate to not need daily meds. Recently she was put on blood pressure medicine. She can't swallow meds, so takes her pill in a bite of applesauce. Today a nurse put it in chocolate pudding. Another nurse learned of it after the fact. When they took her down to prep, that nurse told the anethesiologist and of course, he put a halt to the surgery. He said she would probably not survive surgery with that in her system. It coats everything and she could very easily aspirate. Later, the guilty nurse said she didn't know what the fuss was about, she has been doing it for 15 years. :o  That is just scary. Later a guy came to her room and asked her if she understood why her surgery was cancelled. Her answer, "yes, someone doesn't know what the hell they are doing". So they have rescheduled her surgery for Wednesday. My dm and dsisil are going to visit her tomorrow as planned. Dm told me she would hug her and give her a kiss from me.

We finally decided on a toilet, seat and bathroom mirror and have ordered them. Dh is still planning to have it done by the time our company shows up on the 18th.

This cold just doesn't want to go away. Everytime I think I am better, I backslide.

I sure hope that they call tomorrow and I can go pick up my computer.

Washed my hair so that I can color it in the morning. Waiting for it to dry, so I can head to bed.

Okay, did your dmil or dm go to ds with you?
