Hello, villagers ~

I did not sleep well last night, finally gave up and got up at 4. I did a bunch of work until 9:30 and then took a long nap. I advise Harmony to do the same!

Did my daily exercise DVD (day 8 of 8). Fixed leftovers for lunch. I'm going to drink some more water and then shower and wash my hair.

Anticipating a long sewing group board meeting tonight. However, it should be a lot of laughs because all of our travelers are back and hopefully energized from vacations.

I need to make another attempt to get caught up with filing after s2s. As y'all know, that job feels like the man Sisyphus in mythology who had to roll a huge stone up a mountain over and over again.

I have deliberately not watched any news today. Listened to the radio reports early this morning and that was enough. I'll get caught up tonight after the meeting, but just have too much work to do before then to risk being sidetracked by tv. There's too much conflicting, non-confirmed info being reported.

Cowinkie ~ I played and sang that song back in high school when I was really into folk ballads. Also it's the song in Animal House at the party where John Belushi wrecks the singer's guitar.

Yup, they're in my bathroom looking for water...plugged up their hole, but the bug man won't be here till tomorrow. They don't bother me except they get in my way....

I tricked Lawrence and his camels by dusting half the house...I can hear them stompin' and snorting in the background. Sweetie now has clean underwear, much to his relief, pot roast and veggies are slow cookin' in the pot and my kitchen is clean. I've been busy.

Bookie...I sang that song way back when as well....but not very well.

Home from lunch with the minister. She looks tinier than usual (she's a tiny Filipina) and way darker than usual. She is using walking to help her recover and deal with her insomnia. She just walks and walks to wake up and at the same time try and tire herself out so she can sleep. All the outdoors time has darkened her skin dramatically.

She is sounding a lot better than when I talked with her last (6 weeks ago) and seems resigned to having to take another month until returning to work.

It was so good to hold her. We had lots of hugs. I've missed her terribly.

We went for a walk to a Vietnamese restaurant, had lunch, went to a store for an errand and then walked back. Hopefully, she'll rest this afternoon. We were together for 2 hours.

I then did the grocery shopping and have got the food put away. I think I'll have a quick nap. Then get some paperwork done before dinner and heading out.

Ds was gone when I got home so I'll see him some time tomorrow since I'll be in bed when he gets home.

Hi everybody!

I got off of work early. I knew that last night. (I always call for my start time and location between 10 and 11 each night.) I moved some stuff last night. Made sure all the garbage and recyling was ready to go out this morning. Put all the cleaning supplies away. Did some dusting. Fell asleep absolutely exhausted and sore around midnight.

All I need to do is put away some clothes and make the bed with fresh sheets. Oh, and go to the airport. For his 3 1/2 hour flight that lands at "6:35" he has just taken off in the past 30 minutes. Never a wait to get airborne at that airport, although I have seen 4 to 5 planes there on a busy day. On Fridays there is an American Airlines jet to Miami. One of the reasons I hate that airport on Fridays. Massive crowds.

I took my work van to get something checked at the mechanic's today. He had a 24 hour news channel on. I had to stop watching. (((SHEs))) that deal with tornadoes. Then I got home and Yahoo has so much coverage, including the video of the birth of this particular storm. I did not put the volume on.

I need to get off of here and go make the bed so I am not running around panicing (sp) at the last minute.

I am going to sleep so well tonight.

Made up the bed for the first time in a week. Headin' towards normal now. Going to recycle newspapers I acquired in hospital. Not accustomed to reading them anymore...seems like too much effort. Will pull out coupon inserts and try to look through those.

Really like the old "Hazel" show reruns. The 60's fashions and furnishings and cars are something to see. I remember this show from then, but we were not regular viewers of it at my house.

Another show I like that I seldom watched when it was on weekly is "Murder, She Wrote." Was noticing that that Jessica Fetcher is a snappy dresser!

I'm selective about news today, I wanted to see how the stormy weather was where mom is and the bad spot is above them but not like yesterday.
Watered a bit next door some bushes and plants that did not get wet in the rain b/c of eves.

At our son's house they have been watching a dove on the nest in their eves the baby's tails were visible from the porch!

Well my plan seems to be working I've gotten three eggs, and the one that was not laying in the run or coop was on the nest when I was out last there time, keeping them locked up until they lay seems to be working yea! I guess you can call this re-training chickens! LOL! I guess I might need to keep a chart or something for the next couple of weeks. Only problem is a squall is going on now so that a might be an exception except I know this one is minor so I"m not too worried.

Not sure what I'm going to do when we have the same breed & color of hens. So I'll be thinking of a way to figure out how to put anklets or what ever they call 'em for birds bands or some thing on them to tell 'em apart maybe short friend ship bracelets. Now that the pullets are out side Stweie has not been harrassing them it's not as much fun when they are not in the coop I guess.

Well that's as far back as I can read posts.

Ran to the grocery store earlier and then to the library. I have decided that I am going to try to read a book a week this summer. When I was a kid if I wasn't at the pool, then I had my head in a book.

Dgd3 came over after her last dance class. She will go to a 6 week dance class starting June 28. Her dm ran a few errands before she came to pick up the boys. Out of the blue, dgd3 commented "my ride is here, bye". I was out the door right behind her. I had seen dd2 pull in. Evidently, dgd3 either heard her or "felt her presence".

Dgs9 commented that he missed grandma picking them up because then he can have a snack. (He meant without a wait, while riding home.) So I told him that I would pick them up tomorrow. While they are here, I need to remember to have them look at the ornament book, because it's that time of year again.

Dh is in some kind of class today and tomorrow at the office in town. He didn't have to leave until 7:30 am. One of his coworkers father passed away and the funeral is tomorrow morning. He is planning on going. I would have went also, but I have a mammogram scheduled. They just started using their new digital mammography machine 2 weeks ago. I never had a problem with the roller one, so I hope this is even better.

Weather guy said we had 45 mph gusts here today. We are fine lost no power I chickens are fine I have steaks in the oven did up a couple more pans of cookies it was great weather for it. 62* is our forecast hi. temp. for tomorrow br-r! We got some much needed rain here. Mtn. snows in the forecast as well. Others in our area lost power.

The house smells great! Dgson wants to help with putting Stewie in the freezer.

Checking in to say hello. I like the positive spin on today's theme as it can be applied to any day as an incentive to a new beginning.

I was awake by 5:30; thought I might be able to go back to sleep, but couldn't. Got up when dh did and stayed busy till lunchtime. I tried cuop while eating lunch, but eyes just couldn't stay open, so I came back here and took a nap.

Hoping Dee & dh were able to get her car and will have a good trip home tomorrow. Congratulations to LO! His teacher is truly special. I was sorry to hear your family members loosing their homes. ((Harriet & ddad)). ((Twins & dd)). Elle, I like both those old tv programs - remember watching them way back when. Hope you continue to improve quickly. MT, we like onion soup here, too, but have never made it from scratch. Hope your weather hasn't been too rough. Cowinkie, it's nice you're able to watch some baby birds hatching. Hope you are still healing well. Helia, sorry that dd14 had to see that accident while driving - not an easy thing when it's an acquaintance. ((Harmony)) hugs for the family drama! We had a line of rain and thunderstorms go by this afternoon, but didn't get one drop from it . We are only about 7 or 8 miles from the Gulf so I guess the sea breeze kept most of the rain more inland to our east. I noticed a couple of things when I went outside to watch the clouds. 1.) The house across the street has a "for sale" sign in the yard. 2.) And we have a bee hive growing in the large bush in front of our porch. I watched it for a few minutes and saw one honey bee fly in to it. Looks like there is honey deep in the middle of the comb. I think I will call the Home Extension and see if there is anyone who could take it away. I hate to kill the bees just to get it out. Surely there's someone around here who raises bees.

Nancy, I could raise hens and take care of them, clean out coop, collect/eat the eggs and all, but not handle the "Stewie" thing. More power to 'ya!
