Dee and Dh have been on my mind today also.

I looked in earlier today before going out on our errand run. We picked up a few groceries and rx refills at Sam's, stopped at bank, insurance company re: car ins. and finally at W-Greens for another rx refill. It was almost 4 pm by the time we got home and we'd missed lunch, so had leftovers from yesterday - liver & onions for dh (yuck!) and spaghetti for me. I'll probably have a bowl of cereal before bed. Now I just need to tidy kitchen.

I'll be waiting with everyone for news from Dee!

Posting without cuop for today, just looking for word about Mr Dee. Have kept him & Dee in prayer all day...

Poor Lily cat, Helia. I cannot understand how anyone could do such a horrid thing to her.

Timer just beeped -- have to take dinner out of the oven. Be back later.

Came back from dentist & errands and check to see if we had an update from Dee yet..

Now I'm checking again after returning from visiting DAunt & extended family members who just arrived from Georgia. They are raising a 6 year old DGD so LO enjoyed having a playmate.

It's been a day -of course. Started out with dh cleaning my glasses in the car -pop broken in 1/2! I need my glasses! Did drive in -I have glasses restriction on my license, but did ok. Did even better driving home tonight (put on my sunglasses that I've not worn in forever). DS-R ran me to a nearby W almart as soon as dh went in to surgery. They kept them for the optometrist to look at. Unfortunately they no longer make the frames & they couldn't fudge them into a different one. But he took them home with him tonight and was going to try to solder the bridge back together. I just spent the last hour looking for my reading glasses (got them at the same time). Just found them where I had looked before -this time with a flashlight. So will take them with me tomorrow.

On to the real stuff of the day. At some point after they had dh ready his iv popped and the bed was instantly covered in red. Scary few minutes. But that was all set aright. He went in to surgery around 8:30. Dr. called me about 2 1/2 hours later to tell me the aortic valve was very bad and that he was glad the surgery was done now! He did start to wake up too early and they put him back under for a couple hours. Later they tried to remove his breathing tube but couldn't. I just called a few minutes ago & his nurse says it's now out and he's doing well. Dr. had told me his heart and valve were both working well. He's going to be a new man. Dr. told us earlier that if nothing had been done, that he had a 25% chance of living 2 years -but not well.

He's alive but not 'kicking' yet. Been hard to see him struggling, but he's coming along. So all in all the news is good.

Thank you all for being so sweet. I will be sure to tell dh how you've all been checking on him. I couldn't even see all day to try to post on my iphone. But now I can.

Thank you, Dee!

Oh, good gravy, WHAT a time to lose the very center of the very thing that gets you from point A to point B every waking hour!!! (Ask me how I know.) Good job, ds. Good job, Dee for having reasonable back-ups. Good job, W mart optometrist, being resourceful.

Very pleasant new to hear. Dee will be back to trying to catch Mr. DeeClutter and tell him he's doing too much.
