Sending well wishes to Kathryn.

Managing very well here today. Got oil changed in car. Flew in and out of the bank, post office, grocery store and dropped off recycling. Paid some bills. Dropped off donations at thrift store.

Going to make DH a nice supper of turkey meatloaf, brown rice and roasted carrots. Will add a packet of gravy to keep the meal from being too healthy for him. :) He'll be fending for himself the rest of the week.

Also did 2 loads of laundry and changed bedsheets. Need to buy a baby gift, but that may have to wait until I get back. The new baby will still be new in a week, right?

For Android/Kindle users - Sparkpeople App is being offered for free today (normally $3.99). I'm not going to use it since i am doing WW now, but went ahead and got it just in case I change my mind in the future.

All the pain was productive and gall stone is passed therefore I'm now just waiting to heal enough to have the surgery to removed the gall bladder. Yay! Tim Horton's iced lemonade will be downed asap. (I couldn't have anything by mouth while we waited to see if I needed another procedure to remove the stone.)

I am on a liquid diet for the next while but that's ok. I'm still very hot from the infection in my pancreas so the iced drinks will be appreciated.

I really like the doctor. Ds says he is popular here and I can see why.

Looked in at the right moment to see Kathryn... Yay!

Glad you passed that stone. Hope the infection is clearing up - and the pain should pretty much be done for now, I hope!

Still sending healing thoughts Northwards...

OKay, I assume you did get the boots off him? ;-) I did like that image...

Between weather and my head, I did not go out today - tomorrow will be easier for that store.

Yay! Glad the stone is passed, Kathryn. Are you still in the hospital? Are you still experiencing pain and/or nausea?

Done:
x a.m. routine
x DPC
x lunch
x finished book club book
x kept laundry going
x Lily to vet. The left eye is back to normal!! I'm so thankful for that! The girls called immediately after school was out to ask about that. This means Lily is having her surgery this afternoon to have the blind eye (right one) out, and there's no need to involve a general vet surgeon and move the surgery to a different location to mess with the left eye. :)
x dd17 to her appt.

I have a groc. list started; I need to finalize that and then get that errand done next. Dd17 isn't going to take Maia to puppy kindergarten tonight b/c of finals tomorrow. I thought about taking Maia instead, but I think we'll just have her skip class this week. My time will be tight with groc. shopping, getting dinner ready, and then book club at 8 - picking up band uniform notebook en route. Dh has a meeting at 7:30. Dd15 can't drive herself. Ds probably won't have any interest in doing that after working 8 hours today. . . .I'm also trying to get the laundry done since dh is leaving early tomorrow for Japan. He'll need to pack tonight.

Hello Dear Ladies,

Typical Monday here.

The temperature is suddenly HOT. Somewhere around the 100 mark. Wasn't ready for this yet.

Thinking of Kathryn. Hoping all goes well for her. Had my gall bladder out in '99. The awful pain came upon me, couldn't walk. Once it was out, I was fine.

Still working on laundry. DH called and will be working late. He took a meal break but was heading back to the job site, won't be in until late. So having leftovers for dinner. Want to make sure Dbrother has something he really likes as it will be awhile before he can eat everything again.

Got to check laundry.

Great day to all!

Kathryn, I'm thinking of you and praying, too. I'm glad the stone's passed, hope you heal quickly in order to get to the next step.

This brings back memories of Dson at Christmastime, when he had a similar problem. He had surgery to unclog a duct, which prohibited the stone to pass. So Christmas Day we all had wonderful homemade chicken noodle soup, since his diet was changed. After Christmas, before New Year's Eve, he went back for the gallbladder to be removed. He's a man who is never-ever ill, so this was a surprise to us. It all went well, but it made the holidays somewhat more stressful.

Gallbladders don't care if it's a holiday or if you're planning at trip or anything. They just do "their thing" whenever they please. All the best to you and your so kind to update us, too. I'm waiting in the virtual waiting room with you and everyone here. Get your rest. Ha! In a hospital? Nearly impossible! Do take care. We love you. ♥

Glad things are moving a little bit, Kathryn. No wonder you've been so sick. You'll feel like a new woman in a short time. Too bad about having to cancel your cruise right now though.

Another confusing medication change. Hospital prescribed 12.5mg of Metoprolol tastrate. Pharmacy said they only made it in 25mg so to cut in half (took it twice a day). Regular Dr's nurse called to check on things. Told her about this med & the difficulty I'm having cutting it (with a knife). dh also has an erratic heart beat and the low oxygen level. Dr was concerned about that so wants him simply taking this med full 25mg TWICE a day -because of the heart beat. Guess the visiting nurse called to see if dh wants her to come today. She'll wait till tomorrow morning.

Dh just bent over to retrieve something & I was chastising him -saying you don't want to pull something and have to go back in there. He replied that that has crossed his mind if the heart doesn't settle down. So this will be a little antsy this week waiting to see if the medicine helps.

Bought dh a nylon sweat suit this morning. Friend came and got the pants, hemmed them and he now has them on. He really likes the set! Guess I did ok.

Okay, you are on my mind continually. Praying so hard that all this is soon behind you.

Trying to use up all we have in the fridge and the freezer in the next week or so and then start from scratch. Of course tomorrow we have one couple bringing smoked polish sausage & cabbage and our 'cook' friend bringing clam chowder. His chowder is yummy! Well so is the cabbage dish.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Hi everyone! DD11 is still in Alaska on a cruise with XDH, so I had Sunday free. Saturday, I did my usual cat adoption clinic and knit/crochet group. I took an application for one of the kittens, they are leaning toward Levity, but also liked Gravity. After that, I had a great dinner at a friend's house. Sunday at church was nice because I could concentrate on the service rather than deal with a bored DD. Then I met a friend for lunch and we went to a yarn shop to knit (her) and crochet (me). After that, I realized I REALLY needed to replace my gas cap and get groceries. After groceries, I did massive amounts of cooking. Unfortunately, I burned my hand rather badly and spent the next 3 hours dunking it in cool water every half a minute or so. I ended up taking a pain pill left over from a surgery when ibuprofen did not work. This morning I woke up to ripped jeans, bummer.

I have consolidated my lists and it takes up a whole page. Here it is (yuck):

Quicken update
Change out power cord to dryer
Call Bart
Yarn bomb info to Ravelry
Manage Staples account
Find particular book for DD
Put away laundry
Run another load of laundry
Collect patterns for yarn bombing
Put up poster for DD
Call doctor
Maid prep
Work in sewing room
Database project
Check insurance paperwork
Order part
Call Dot
Update an account folder
Lookup a meetup for tomorrow
Minutes and notes for animal org
Look in on DD's dog

Such good news from Kathryn and Helia (about Lilly, the furchild.) Glad the stone is passed Kathryn and it's only the gallbladder to deal with.

I got all of the "must do" things done today: visiting dmom, court reports for dsis (got them into the mail also, so they are postmarked on the due date) and picking up dog food for dMacs. No activity on the "nice to dos" however, I will take what I have done as a fairly productive day for me. I'm already wondering about the court report, however, whether I should have reported that a substantial amount of repairs will have to be done on her house. :? Anyway, it's done.

I have ordered pizza for me and ds.

I would have been quite frustrated spending the day in tax continuing education today.

More stream of consciousness stuff....worries about dMom. It's probably time to do an attorney trip to hopefully get a POA for me. Noticed she had a stack of loose papers that included an unpaid medical bill, and also checked her glucometer and she had not checked blood sugar since May 29. She insisted that she had checked and it wasn't showing up, then insisted that she "knew" when it was high/low and didn't need to check. Her doc actually wanted her to cut back on glyburide because her A1C was lower than she liked to see in elderly patients.
