Hi everyone! A fast check in today, because I have to go soon. The subject is particularly appropriate for me today. I saw the specialist for my arm and have been diagnosed with tennis elbow, with bursitis that had resolved by itself. I got a steroid shot. I figured it hurt since December, it was NOT going to get better on its own. I was also prescribed physical therapy, but I can do it on my own. I have to start it 3 days from now. The good thing is that I was not sentenced to a crochetless existence. Unfortunately, I had a 10:00 appointment and wasn't seen until 10:40. I made good progress on DD11's vest during the wait. After that, I went to the library and took out interlibrary loans on a book for DD and a crochet book for me. I had a free lunch at Schlotsky's on my loyalty card.

Then, I spent 3.5 HOURS typing minutes and notes for the animal org! There is a board meeting for it tonight. Before the meeting I have to pick up the kittens, deliver them to another member for shots. After the meeting, I have to pick them up and take them home. This is going to be a bad day for them. They were traumatized by the maids today, and now they get to ride in the car AND get shots.

Tomorrow, I have another doctor's appointment, this time with a gastroenterologist. It is very likely that he will once again express surprise that I am not having any problems. Then, a friend is taking me to a birthday dinner. After that, all the people at the dinner will go to the amusement park. I can go, because my church meeting has been cancelled and I am not expected at art class because of the meeting.

lucylee: I have had the banned message also, only from my home computer. After a while, it fixed itself without my intervention, and hasn't been seen since.

I get banned all the time. It is because whatever we hook up (ISP) is not the same all the time. Sometimes it cycles to a banned address. Logging out and shutting down connections and then powering up again will sometimes solve it. It happens to me a lot when I try to get on the site from a public site like MickyDs, or some other hot spot.

What has happened is that someone logged on to some site via that WIFI and spammed. So the site is blocked. No biggie.

Washing clothes today. Trying to get things sorted that I want to take with. Just can't get any oompf to do anything. It is 109 here now. We can only work outside until about 8 in the morning. It is usually still in the 90's when we go to bed.

I'm also banned quite frequently when on the road, especially from hotels and airports.

The day is looking up but there were very rough times. Dh has lost count of the number of times I said, "I just don't know why I'm not getting stronger."

I did make a point to be up for at least 15 minutes 5 times through the day. Most times I'd walk for 5, sit in a dayroom for 5, then walk for 5 (then doze for 90.)

I was leashed during my antibiotic treatment and slept for almost 2 hours while my roommate had a long, loud, physiotherapy session. She knew I was asleep by my snoring so was relieved she wasn't disturbing me.

Dh comes at 11:30, leaves at 2 and goes to a nearby library to work and then returns for 4 and stays until 6. Eating still upsets my tummy (and this is clear fluids) so I pick/sip at my meal while he's here and whine. Tea and water are the only things I can get down with any sort of ease. Even my iced lemonade was hard to take today.

Dh helped me shower today and feels great to have clean hair again. There is no hair dryer here but my new cut air-dried quite well. At that time I was up for 30 minutes because we couldn't return to the room due to movement by my roommate. When I got in, I was done-for but the nurse had made up the bed with fresh sheets so that was nice.

I'm hoping dh will have a visit with his friend tonight. He's been a real pillar of patience for me.

Another chaplain came to visit me today, so that was nice too. She's at the church where my minister is going so I told her how lucky they were.

Dh and I managed to pay bills today. I asked ds to pay the one due yesterday for me (our shared credit card) so it looks like everything is up to date. Apparently, I had already paid the credit card that was due on Saturday so we weren't in arrears on that according to the bank.

OKay, I love the fish in the stock tank! Is that a common thing to do? My Moses used to love to lie down in a pool of water so I know how much your guys will enjoy it in the hot weather. (We got tired of Moses coming in wet and now don't want to put a wading pool on our grass.)

So happy to see Kathryn but also hoping with her for faster healing.

And I want to hear about Lucylee's trip!

Elizabeth, I'm glad you're staying busy in DD's absence. Those kitties will need some extra loving tonight to make up for their traumatic day!

MT, when will you guys depart on your summer travels?

I had such a lovely time at the pool - was by myself from just before six to 7:30ish and I put a chair into the very shallow water and read there...very nice and relaxing. I left to come home and walk the boys - there was a family of four there by then but so pleasant. There was a big group up there last night - kids swimming and families cooking out. Dh went up for awhile but by the time I got home from meeting I was tired and not wanting to go out except to walk dogs.

Dermatologist in the a.m. at 9 a.m. and then pedicure in the afternoon. I am going to do some work here at home tomorrow, but ask temple secretary to run me some reports that I need to work with on Friday.

Looking at the severe weather today and hoping that Helia isn't affected.

Quick post! We are on grandma/grandpa duty for 72 hours! * whew * DS is still gone, and ddil is working 3 nights in a row, so if she gets to sleep, we have to keep dgs straight through, pretty much.

Not really complaining, but I'm sure we will have some moments we are feeling pretty helpless...

Trip was fine. Just dh & I went, you know. It was kinda hot and tiring the second day, but we really enjoyed ourselves. I've gotten so that I just HATE to come home now... too many obligations/responsibilities/concerns -- at least in my mind! -- so I just dread getting back to "real life." But I am hoping things will calm down, take on a new sense of order, and I'll feel less concerned about my dmom all the time. For goodness sake, she is only 68!!! I am NOT supposed to have to be worried about her all the time. (And of course, she would tell me I DON'T have to worry about her NOW. But you know, after all she's gone through the last year & 6 months w/ddad, I can't help it.)

Dmom & I were supposed to be meeting w/dbil the lawyer Friday to sign papers, etc... but get this -- dbro doesn't check his mail but "about once a week..." so he did not know he had this urgent paper he had to have notorized and signed, and mail back to dbil. Dbil called me this afternoon to ask about it, said he had not returned it yet... * sheesh * I contacted dbro, he checked the mail, yes... there it was... (dbil mailed it 9 days ago!) and dbro says he will get it notarized and back in the mail tomorrow! * sheesh * So that meeting was rescheduled. Good grief.
Dmom says we should have mailed it to his office.

As to being "banned..." LOL. Thanks for the reassurance. I suspected that was something that had happened b/c I was on hotel wifi. Usually, I have just ignored hotel wifi and stayed w/my 3g connection, but this time I thought the internet connection was pretty sketchy, so I logged into the free wifi -- and then found out I could read, but I couldn't reply!

Well... dozens of things to do... it's been a pretty busy day. One of those things MIGHT include a quick nap, if dgs will cooperate.

RE: goldfish in stock tank. Yes, it is quite frequently done here. Goldfish eat mosquito larvae and algae which keeps the stock tank clean. We have had goldfish live for years in stock tank and get huge. The livestock drops grass/feed into the tank when they drink which feeds the fish and makes them care free.

Church was good tonight. DH spoke on faith and received many compliments (in person and online after the service).

Wednesday - yoga - we ganged up to complain up the gym - noisy spin class and yoga had not admirably coexisted yesterday. time slot will move by 30min to avoid 30 min, and fill in spin instructor - will not be back. some noise affects me really badly - and yesterday was one of those days.

meeting then visit with a friend. her suggestion for another contentious mtg - go and try to say nothing. Not sure of that. Pdoc today. I'm not sur he had a suggestion by the time we sorted out all my story. excepting I put it to me and him - bringing up every upset I've ever had with a certain set of people is not helpful, as is bringing up every issue ever encountered when trying for a sane discussion about one matter - for example - as with a squarrelling married couple.. yep squarrels. bad weather at times. Thats what I have encountered. Msg to me - I cannot sort out every squarrel at once - or change anyone else - even just a bit - no matter how much I want to.
mtg is next up for me. Anyway - I think locum pdoc is interested in next instalment as it unfolds.
I need to get me to a gen doc for 2 referals in next few weeks.

hugs Lucylee - you are not in charge of your dm. You need to talk out reasonable expectations of yourself. DM is young enough to make a good go of things. imo.
commisserations at lack of mail mindfullness on bro's part. I hope that can get sorted.
That is a long baby care shift. You may need to talk that one out with ds and ddil as well.
Setting things up so it is sustainable is important in my view.

We got very lucky today and all the storms went around us. Happy dance!

However, just having that threat was a good reminder to back up my files to the external hard drive. The plan is that if a tornado watch turns to a warning, it's easy to unplug the external drive and grab my purse on the way to the basement.

So I backed up everything (couldn't remember last time I had done that! ) before going up for a nap. I guess all the extra work for the last 2 weeks finally caught up with me, because I slept hard for over 3 hours.

I was worried that long of a nap would mess up sleeping for tonight, but I'm already getting tired. Hopefully I can get a full night's sleep tonight and be caught up, to have energy for tomorrow.

It's good to see so many messages about villagers making progress to wellness.

Dgs is fed and (finally) playing quietly in the pack-n-play, in "his" room, watching something, I don't know what, on Sprout TV. Go ahead, call me a bad grandma. It is just about beyond my capabilities to chase him all around the floor letting him crawl freely... and while he was in the pack-n-play in the den, he was just SCREAMING. DS had advised that sometimes it was best to leave him alone to play. We can hear him just fine -- we just aren't in his line of vision.

I don't know how to use 3x5s for my OMM stuff right now, Harriet, b/c it is all such a vague tumble of WHAT IF...
and the WHEN is sooo unpredictable. DS will call at 11:00 a.m. -- "Can I bring dgs over for a couple hours? DDIL is just beat and I've got to get a haircut..." etc. Dmom has made virtually NO request of me at all yet except the vague, "So you ARE willing to see this (foot surgery) through with me?" and what turned out to be a hypothetical question: "Do y'all think y'all could put up with me all the way to (festival trip this week.)?" THAT one of course, just almost had me lying in the bathroom floor. I'm not kidding, y'all. I KNOW it is insane, but try convincing my stomach of that when it starts churning and rolling!!! I do NOT understand WHY I react this way, I understand it is something of a habit/learned reaction, and I am just going to have to break that habit/unlearn that reaction... but oh my goodness it is difficult.

It helped a great deal to look back at my quotes from all of you, the last time I went through a major panic issue.
One in particular I must mention. MT told me, "Lucy, SHUT UP. Quit telling yourself CRAP. Your mind will believe whatever you tell it. Tell it good stuff. Tell it, 'This is FUN. I LOVE doing this. This is exciting.'" That HAS helped -- a little -- MT. Thank you.
But MT is not the only person in my quote book. There is something from almost all of you!!! You girls are amazing!!!

OH!!! I have an actual housekeeping problem to discuss here!
What would you advise a person to do who had burned pizza in the microwave, so badly that the T upperware melted completely through? The scorched plastic smell in the microwave is pretty unbearable, and this happened Sunday.
So far, I have
* boiled water w/baking soda in the microwave & left it to sit
* left dry baking soda in the microwave to sit -- and in the kitchen --
* wiped out the microwave w/a vinegar-alcohol mixed spray
* burned scented candles in the kitchen
* run the vent fan
* sprayed Lysol

There is no burned plastic stuck in the microwave, btw... just the smell.

Ddil said it was not that bad when she came in this morning, but dh & I are still VERY bothered by it.

In other business, I do need to get back in the box w/my cards, now that my travels are done for a while. I have high hopes.

Yes... all this does need "talking out" I guess, but the 72 hour baby care IS an unusual situation. Very unusual that ddil would work 3 nights in a row, very unusual for ds to be gone this long. Maybe another round of this in a few weeks or so, but this will NOT be the norm. Ddil is working close shifts right now so that they can go visit her parents next week.

Dmom... well... as I said, I really am expected to do very little, except for getting her to far-away doctor's offices when she schedules bunion surgeries -- about 2.5 hour-drive, and she just cannot bear to drive in big cities, whereas I can manage that pretty well, if I know what exit I should take. It's just the general trip anxiety that bothers me, the unexplanable thing that makes me think I can't do anything calmly w/anyone except dh... and I know that is ridiculous. So I've just got to grow up and deal with this, I think. DH will go with me, if I just cannot do it alone. I don't know if I'll do better with or without him, though, at this point. Dmom + me alone/makes me nervous. Dmom + dh/makes me nervous. It's a toss up.

Also -- should add -- dmom has NEVER been critical of dh like ddad was at times. Dmom genuinely seems to like dh and very much appreciates the husband, father, and grandfather he is. There is really no explanation for my anxiety.
