Cowinkie, I just don't know - very interesting book and interesting theory and possible IMHO. Will have to ruminate further on the question. It is fiction - I did do some reading about Bram Stoker's theory so the question has certainly been around awhile.
I still haven't made the bed. Ds came in and was quite chatty. Even looked up a coupon code for pizza so we can order it later. I did some other things....empty the dishwasher, get the mail, process some papers....I wasn't a complete slug?
This time:
-reboot laundry
-make the bed
-fold and put away two loads of laundry
-refill meds for the week
-wrestle new outdoor rug to the back patio and put it down

You're so right, Cowinkie... my life is -- this sounds so terrible to say -- but, as far as my day to day routine goes, my life has been very little changed from what it was 2 months ago. Her whole world has been turned upside down. I have to be patient.
And now... I've GOT to order that book!!!
But -- dgs has arrived -- w/ds, to help dh load couch for upholstery man.
BBL.

And I am done again.
Ordered pizza for me and ds. (DH out of town til Sunday evening.)
Not a happy camper. My lonely very slow growing tomato plant appears to have been about 1/3 sheared off. Wondering if overzealous weed eating is responsible, or a natural pest has been about? It's only started actually growing recently, we had so much rain and clouds that it just now got started growing.

The rug outside looks okay - I have it weighted down since it came rolled up. I do think it will be okay but I need to jazz up the color outside.
This time:
-clear the kitchen table
-four (yes, count them) temple emails to send/answer
I disposed of two temple issues already via email.
What am I going to do next year when I'm no longer president? I will have so much free time and far fewer worries. Assuming someone steps up to be president after me?

Oohh, what book are you talking about? I have a feeling it is in another thread. . . . I like Bram Stoker!! Well, I like the one book by him I've read. Did he write any others?? I guess he wrote some short stories?
That reminds me -- the film Minority Report is based on a short sci fi story by Phillip Dick, as are several other films, including Bladerunner, which I have never seen. A bit too violent for me.
x DPC - had to leave a message.
x tried to register newly reinstated teacher's certificate online; couldn't do it. This led to 2 phone calls and much time on the phone with very kind woman in Illinois who was extremely helpful, though we couldn't get it solved today.
x rough draft of cover letter is almost done!! I'm starting to feel excited.
x picked up my van w/ dh; I forgot to mention that we dropped it off this morning. Some repairs done, more need to be done -- next week. We really need to replace it. Neither of us likes buying cars. ergh.
Next:
- deal with lol
- change clothes
- go out to eat with my sweetie!

helia, they are talking about the new Steven Perry book.
Although Cowinkie, lucylee and Twins' Mom's conversation is not one I know, on the subject of fiction writers' talent at making the unbelievable believable, I would say talent can win out very quickly. Publishers are made quite happy that way. They have few fact-check expenses and don't have to worry about lawsuits - the mantra is, "it's fiction", said with a sly smile.
....she LOOKS ten years younger, until you watch her walk around... when she looks ten years older
lucylee, maybe she will be able to turn her attention to activity, more movement and maybe even some planned exercise now. Her life was back-and-forth between an unfamiliar condo and an even less familiar hospital room for a long time. She's had to limit self-care. When you are widowed you have to wade through preoccupation for a while. It's work.
Cowinkie is a bad influence on me, too, but she and Norma have me interested (H and F thread) in a non-fiction author now on that side of the bestseller list. Dd14 wanted to go to the library today, and I found another book by him. Another will come by library messenger in a couple days and I actually let money leave my pocketbook for the bestseller I'm reading now.
Dd14 found 2 "geometry won't be so terrible" books
and Bill Nye on biology instruction in video form. But the 2 she is really happy to have found are for her sketching: Color and Light in Nature and The Curious World of Carnivorous Plants, a Comprehensive Guide to Their Biology. The last is a response to a challenge to find some inspiration in a book that has nothing to do with art. I also found a nearly-new release of an interesting workout video, and the librarian explained that, hey, it may be new but it's still non-fiction, so has the same check-out rules as any book in the library. I don't have to rush it back in just a few days. The library was full - very few parking spaces left and many people using all services.

Hello, ladies!
Feeling footloose and fancy free since DH has a dinner to go to tonight, which means no supper will be cooked here! I had a grilled cheese sandwich. Did my errands today...grocery store, post office, recycling and library. Vacuumed yesterday. House is clean enough.
Should vacuum basement and sweep out garage. Will drop off used motor oil tomorrow.
Have been pleased to complete several nagging little projects around here. Can't believe how good I feel 6 weeks after gb surgery. Have realized that I was not feeling well for a long time before that.
Kathryn, you will know what I'm talking about soon!
DH and I are gearing up for our trip to help DD with her move. She can't afford movers and so we are cheap labor!
Thinking of you all!

Hi everyone! I am going back to my art class after missing 3 weeks for various reasons. I have been having trouble thinking of a new project, but finally decided on something. I am going to 'borrow' an illustration from a book of Chinese folk tales I have, draw it on linen, then embroider the colors. I did this years ago with a different illustration from the same book, gave it to my mom, who immediately wanted another.
I do not have to worry about the person paying for the damage on my car, the insurance people have already called and started the process. I have yet another crochet project started - a steering wheel cover. I have 2 books at the library that I need to pick up, tomorrow maybe. When I get home, I need to: change my sheets (hairballs

), cat care, some other hairball related clean up. It has gotten easier to give dFosterCat11 her meds, but I will be really glad when we are done.
Happy Birthday HELIA!!!

Elizabeth, I'm glad that it looks like the car issues will be worked out agreeably.
Elly, so pleased that you are feeling well at six weeks post-surgery. It sounds like you are getting a lot done these days.
Helia, the book is
The Kings Deception.
http://www.amazon.com/The-Kings-Decepti ... 0345526546 Was recommended by Cowinkie and is a good, fun read.
At least six temple emails, and one personal. Angry (or hurt?) response back on one, which I will answer in the a.m. Not my problem, however, in this case.
Going to relax a while, will walk ddogs about 8:30 when the sun is dropping...

Happy Birthday, Helia.
We are parked at the Escapade and have had 2 staff meetings and a happy hour. Think it will be an early night tonight as I know it will be a very early morning tomorrow. (7:30 ish to prepare for vendors coming in)
But we are parked by a whole bunch of our friends including one that makes home made beer and another who makes great margaritas. Couldn't prove it by me as I don't drink. I save my calories for chocolate.
