I have the house ready. Dh is in the shower and I will take mine once he is done.

I will just need to heat the baked beans. I buy them from the deli section at the store. They are in a large plastic tub. I am making both cheese dip and bean dip. They are easy and will just need to be heated. I did the deviled eggs earlier. I will need to make the hamburger patties. You can buy them fresh and premade but they just don't taste as good as the ones you form yourself. Dd1 is bringing the potato salad, veggie tray and dip, potato chips and dip. With dd2 bringing desserts, this has made my job much easier.

Dd2 was taking the kids swimming this afternoon, so dd1 is meeting her there. Dd1 has red, white and blue nail polish, so she is bringing it and will do the little girls nails. They love to have their nails done.

Dh has the charcoal grill and the gas grill, cleaned and ready to go. We have a pellet grill to smoke foods, but he needs to clean it, before it can be used. He hosed down the patio and used the blower on the front covered, tiled entry.

Only 3 of my 7 grandkids will be here. The 2 boys will be with their dad and dd1s kids are both working. One gets off at 8:30 and the other at 9:30, so they will come and eat a late supper. Dgd17 will be bringing her bf. I probably should have done an earlier bbq but I am so used to being flexible, that I always have a supper, instead of a noon holiday meal.

Well it's my turn to hit the shower.

Thank you, Ken! Been wondering about you (((((Kathryn)))). Think it's about time you and my dh get off this roller coaster. If he has one good day, it's quickly overcome with at least a couple bad. Neither one of you should have to keep going back in the hospital.

I really realized today how much dh has not absorbed everything. From the time he went back into the hospital and they diagnosed A Fib, the emphasis has been on him not ending up with a stroke. He saw an ad today for the thinner he's now taking and what did they say? "Prevention of a stroke from A Fib". It's the first he remembers hearing it.

We are doing NOTHING today for the Fourth. DD is over here now. We did take a golf cart ride around the ponds -a slow ride! Now have the AC on. The sun is actually shining but the clouds are really gathering! Lots of fireworks around tonight -ours are Saturday. Lots of activities here that day. Trying to get water pumped out all over the place.

DS-A called last night to let us know they had been approved for a loan for an addition to their house. Didn't know they were seeking one. When DS built it he & 1st wife were just married and didn't need much room. Think it was 1,100 sq ft. Eventually he finished off the basement & they & new dgs all have their bedrooms down there. But now he and ddil have at least 3 children living there and they could definitely use air there. We have stored a pro pool table for them for at least 3 years. The kids are psyched they will be able to put it back in the bottom level.

Should get some "must-go's" ready for supper. Have so many!

Dh and I made a trip to Costco but found it was closed today. Disappointing as we had a list of stuff to look for. We ended up near the mall and walked through Home Goods and world market then had late lunch out. Raining off and on here although not as much as had been predicted.

I had a nap, came in chilled from our trip out at the a/c seemed to be running full blast as we had lunch.

Very quiet day here for us.

Half day of granny duty is over.
I cleaned the chicken's run under their roost.
Dgd helped me secure the fence & picked apples for the chickens.
Then we did some cut out cookies she took half of them home to go on their camp out.

H. grilled burgers & hot dogs for our lunch.
I made ice for beverages having a water break.
It's not so hot today yea!

(((Harmony))), sorry to hear about your dfil. Prayers for yours and dh's dfamily.

We've had a sort of quiet day here. After a general redding up of the house this morning we decided on a quick shopping trip to W-M. Two and a half hours and a full shopping basket later were on our way home. Dgd15 cooked supper for us. She found a recipe on kraftrecipes.com she wanted to try. Turned out really good. (Creamy Pasta Alfredo)

I talked to ddil#2 this morning. They were going to go to a movie this evening, but she had homework for a class she is taking and didn't really feel too well, so decided not to go. They are just going to watch the fireworks show that the Blue Jays will put on after the game and concert tonight at their Dunedin stadium. We'll go up about 8 pm and sit on their porch and visit till the fireworks start. I better remember to take the mosquito repellent spray. There's a lot more out after all the rain we've had. After we get back home we'll watch whatever fireworks show is replaying.

and (((Kathryn)))!!! Oh my goodness, I hated to see all that you were dealing with. Hope you feel lots better SOON.

We went to dbil/sisil's and were invited to dcousin's later, but I just called dcousin and told her I thought we'd stay home. I could walk to her house, actually, or rather -- SWIM -- today -- but it is just sooo messy. We are having a flood. Literally in some areas! Our house is safe but I have heard reports of several folks having water getting into laundry rooms and basements flooding, etc. Lots of roads just about under water. Hoping to hear ddil made it safely into work, actually, b/c the area where she works is notorious for flooded streets!
I am still just kinda worn out from yesterday and I think a gloomy, damp afternoon would be the perfect time to start WWI w/the folks @ Downton Abbey...

In a private room now. I have a view both inside (there's a painting) and outside (a tree and view of the sky.) Pain is currently under control. Can't eat anything, my system can only tolerate water and tea and cranberry juice.

I'll cuop during commercials (it is time for Big Bang Theory.)

Ds is working now so he's visiting on his breaks. Dh is home in bed now after a long, long, night and day.

Also glad to see Kathryn checking in. Walk for Ddogs and now it's raining (again). Watching festivities in Washington DC.
