I am still just in a really blah/draggy mood after my trip w/dmom Wed. I never even started watching Downton Abbey last night, b/c I was afraid I would fall asleep. I napped in the recliner while dh watched baseball, and afterwards, we went to see The Lone Ranger. We both really liked it. DH complained a bit that it was NOT like the original Lone Ranger, naturally, but we both enjoyed it.

Today, I've been to the post office, drug store, and oil change place... and as soon as dh s2s, we are going to buy (order) new tires for the Tahoe. That'll be quite a shock to the bank account, I'm sure. * sigh *

Still raining here. Just sprinkling right now but I don't think we're going to get any real relief till middle of next week!
Last night, we could hear bullfrogs out below our front porch. Usually we only hear them from the pond in the back of our house when we go outside, but last night, we could hear them while we were watching the ballgame! DH said it sounded like we were in the middle of the Amazon Rainforest. LOL! But I know all this mess is definitely no laughing matter for a lot of people. Water levels have all dropped down today; I don't think any roads are closed -- but if it keeps on, they'll close again b/c there's sure no place for the water to go!

Just managed to use 100 gigs of data in the past hour. No audio, no video, no graphics but obviously something had graphics and was burning through our data. That's 2/5 of our monthly data in 4 hours. So added another 250 gigs and we'll start over.

Well, I have to say I am in agreement with Ivy, Cowinkie and Lucylee. And we join thousands and thousands of sane thinking people who think she got a raw deal! She in no way should have lost her job over it. It stinks. Can you imagine what the unemployment lines would like if everyone was castigated for this?

According to Mr. Guy, no one should be allowed to sing our beautiful National Anthem except Jackie Evancko. (spelling is probably wrong, but you know who I mean.) She was outstanding on Capitol Fourth last night. My friend who gives me a beautiful pedicare every 6 weeks or so was there last night. I can hardly wait to get the lowdown on it. It was packed with wall to wall people. That isn't my bag, but she is 20 years younger than I.

Now MT, if you would just wait 6 weeks you could see the Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis! I've been to Sturgis, but not during that time I can guarantee you. I've seen it on TV and it can get very ugly. Not my bag either.

DH phoned one glass company in the city to our East, who couldn't come out until July 17! HELLO! We need showers, we have 2 extra grandsons this summer, and we need it done a.s.a.p.! DH called a small town to our West, who will be here TOMORROW at 9 a.m.! We 4 here, are so happy! It'll cost between $250-$300, too.

But look at it this way: Had a grandson or DH or me, had been slamming the shower door shut, when it wouldn't close, we'd have been naked and showered with GLASS everywhere! Our hair, perhaps eyes, our skin.... This is so much better that DH did this because (in my honest opinion), we needed a new shower door anyway. So it's good it's happened this way and nobody got hurt.

We're having an on-shore flow here, it's muggy out, I walked with 9.5 grandson outdoors, smelled fragrant blooms on blackberry bushes, on flowers, etc.. did NOT get asthma, because of my new med.

I'm off to do some posts, then read 3 or 4 letters and my most recent issue of "Writer's Market." My task at hand is to try to make a 450 word count article into 1,000 exactly, for an overseas market and I think I need to sit down with my final copy, from a few years ago, which was meant for the American market, and rewrite it a lot. It's a 7-Item list of things to suggest for the reader to do, but I'll put my thinking cap on for a well-written 10-item list.

Hi everyone! I slept for a ridiculously long time yesterday, I guess I needed it. I went to a friend's house for dinner and a view of the city's fireworks, and am so glad I did. The other people that were there were people XDH and I had known together. I had assumed they got XDH's side of everything, because he sees the wife at DD11's Girl Scout events and goes shooting with the husband. Well, I was right about them having heard XDH's side of things. However, they also saw through them, realizing shortly after the divorce that he had been cheating on me. They also advised me to contact my lawyer again, because when XDH marries the other woman this week, it may mean her income is counted in child support calculations. The friend who hosted us wants me to get a double date going with us and the two neighbors I recently met. Not sure if that is such a good idea. While I have not sworn off men for life, I am not 'on the market' either. And she has NEVER in all the decades I have known her, had good judgment when it comes to men.

Today, I have had lunch with the same friend (Chinese, yum) and sent the question to the lawyer. I also called XDH to see if he wanted me to look in on DD's dog. He has a neighbor looking out for him, so I do not need to. Tonight, I am going to the yarn shop for the yarn bombing crew meeting. I will pick up some more of their bomb yarn, it's free.

Elizabeth, I want you to know that I am so proud of the way you have handled this situation with your XDH and your former so called friend. I know it has to be hard but you have handled it gracefully. Someday your dd will realize what happened and how well you handled it and didn't try to turn her against either of them. As for your ex, he might find out real quickly after they marry that she isn't the prize he thought she was. Karma!

Kathryn - I had a friend who was back in hospital for a missed stone too. Praying you are all better soon.

Elizabeth - I think I'd pass on double dating with a friend with dubious choice on men.
