Bookie - I'm intrigued. Please let us know how it turns out. I'm curious if it is anything like
this jacket
Nancy - BWTG on being so consistent with your exercise. You set a wonderful example.

Everything is packed except the food.
Packing involves things like repacking my purse since that hadn't been done since my last trip.
I'm hoping this isn't a mistake. At this moment I'm exhausted but will be setting up the recliner and sleeping in the car.

Well the baby's dad did not pick her up and I only have two diapers left might be an interesting afternoon using some creativity.

Hello Dear Ladies,
Another HOT day here with the temps in the triple digits again.
Today is the last day of my vacation. Didn't get to catch up too much on the housework but it is ok, I told myself it is a vacation after all.
I did finish reading one book and got quite a bit read in a borrowed book by Mark twain. A friend loaned it to me and said it would take awhile to get through it. I don't know if she realized how long it would take me, it's one of those books that you read a bit and reflect on it to get the full potential of it.
((Harriet)) I think of you often too. I just wanted to say that I found when the last parent passes, you find yourself looking at the world differently or at least I did, and it was a different level of grief to process.
Kathryn hope you trip goes well.
Great day to all!

Finally, I bought red petunias to plant. Also put away 3 items that are more Christmas decor than for summer. DD will be here next week for a wedding, so I am taking a critical look at things...not that I am too concerned about what she will think of our progress around here!
Went to L owe's and thrift store. Just couldn't face w-mart as I have a long list. That can wait for Monday.

The septic will be pumped out next Thursday the 18th, in the afternoon. At least we finally found somebody to do it!
DH and dgson-16.5 are going to the insurance co. to show evidence of a security system, to get our homeowner's ins. reduced. Have a card filled out as "evidence" signed by the installer, too.
Then, they'll go the grocery store, I'll be home with grson-9.5 while he plays the Wii and I wait for the shower door installer man. He's to call sometime this afternoon. He expected the part, he's waiting on, to come in the morning mail. I hope it came in on time, so we can get our master bathroom shower back.

In the meantime, we'll stick with the main/guest shower.
I'm off to go work on a story some more. I'm trying to do it multi-tasking between laundry, watching my grson and the cat. The elder grson set up the security system so it barks like a big dog when the doors are opened and closed.

The cat dislikes it, but it's really cute because we have no dog and it makes us laugh.
Happy Finally Friday to you all!

Dgrson-9.5 decided to NOT go to Seaside, OR tomorrow with his big brother or Gpa. Instead, he's staying home with me, to clean. I showed him a master list, broken down, into a sort of house blessing, inside a plastic sleeve. He said, "I can do THAT! I can do THAT, too!"

So he's all gung ho! So this way, the house will be clean for me, by the time they leave Sun. a.m. and I can concentrate on reading, studying, and writing!

I'll be prepared for the week ahead.
The shower door got installed, looks so beautiful and CLEAN!

What a wonderful job they did!
It's gloomy here, the on-shore flow never burnt off, so it's rather depressing, dark, grey and drab outdoors. I continue to do laundry, with younger dgrson's help, which is making for a faster job. He continues to play the Wii and DH and older grson aren't home yet. I'm starting to get hungry. Guess I've been busy, but had lunch and then a snack.
I'm off to journal and then read on a book now, awaiting DH and older grson's arrival. I wrote my Dsis a Happy Birthday blank card, to thank her for the horse trough and Dad's Memorial Bench, too. DH will deliver it tomorrow to her.
Have a GR8 later afternoon and evening, Everyone!

Settled. Not at all happy with the hotel.
It is an old motel, converted to a Fairfield Inn and Suites. Big room but motel cleaning smell, the a/c is old and noisy and our room has a commanding view of the motel courtyard parking lot. At least it doesn't overlook the freeway so I guess that's better. The ice machine was so noisy, I didn't even check the room before rushing back to dh to tell him to not unload the car until we checked out the room. It is a long walk back to the parking lot (despite the fact that we overlook it.)
The noise from the ice machine pales in comparison to the a/c so we don't have to worry about that. Fridge is small but hopefully won't freeze my veggies (and thaw my frozen fruit.)
My dinner in the car was disaster. After three bites of the leftover chicken, each with a fragment of bone in them, I gave up and just ate my salad.
I'm at my wits end and sincerely think this was a bad idea. Too late now to turn back.

Well the baby had a long nap & then a bath. I found a couple diapers in the diaper bag so that was a God - send! I'm
SO glad I thought of those. The baby's mom said she would get me some more a.s.a.p. Her dad just left.

I'm thinking I might need some fabric for just in case moments like these to use.
Hubby is not home yet.
Chickens have plenty to eat in the back yard and we got three eggs today two pullet eggs and a green one.
Heading to the basement to wash the sheets and blankets dgd uses when here.

Back from dinner. I had a bowl of chicken noodle soup and 1/3 of a baked potato.
Should have taken pain meds before I went. Just took them and am miserable right now but they should kick in shortly. I'll have some fruit and maybe some veggies before bed.
