Storms are almost done. Power was up and down so I used that time to listen to the radio and darn dh's new mittens from Peru. He wore them only one day on the hike and wore through both thumbs. They are a loose knit and alpaca so are really soft and well worth fixing. Now the bin of winter hats and mitts is ready to go back to the basement.
We are going to have dinner now because we are both hungry. I bet there will be an early bedtime tonight too.

Oh, Dee, that is such awful news. My stomach literally dropped when I read your news. So sad for that family. Will pray for the family.
Making progress here but still not done. I did indulge in chatting some with my 2 dds, whom I really like.
And I'm feeling like I should value them even more after Dee's news about the crash.
a.m. routine did get finished. I did get a thank you card and the last shower invitation in the mail. The last lol is in the dryer. Ds is now home from work and starting his laundry. I have packed up the dogs, including toys, ear meds, barrier (to keep Maia in a limited portion of the house), crates, etc. etc. and taken them to dfriends' home in neighboring village. I have also discussed camping menus with dh and made a shopping list. We will buy a cooler and shop for most of the food once there since we're flying. We will bring our own spices and tea -- maybe sugars too since we have to bring the plastic bottles to hold them anyway. Maybe coffee too since dh is very particular about his coffee. I have bagged up tea bags. I have started laying out clothes; I'm waiting for laundry right now.
Next:
- put spices in baggies; our menu is such that we only need 2! Well, we always use lots of fresh garlic and oinons, but we'll buy them there
- work on cover letter to go with resume to resend
- lay out the books I'm bringing: 1 book club book, a Chaim Potok book which we've actually read before, and a book for teaching team. Maybe another book - and my Bible; I may or may not bring commentaries with me. . .

(((
Dee))) -- that is just almost unbelievable, isn't it? I mean, I can't come up with any words to say... I just can't begin to even imagine how parents deal with such a tragedy... (((Dson))) who has been so close to this event, also. Prayers for the families of all these teens involved in the wreck.
On the happier side of today's events --
Happy anniversary, Mr. & Mrs. OKay!!!
Baby duty all day here... and most of tomorrow... and I don't know about baby, but I could certainly use a nap.
We've visited both great-grandmas.
Dh has been playing golf -- just got home.
Better go see what needs to be done now.

For those of you who are Debbie Macomber fans - her Cedar Grove TV series starts on Hallmark Channel tomorrow night.
Now I just wish I had a TV to watch it on.

Power lines are down northwest of where I live. Trees of all sizes and branches are down. It will be interesting to see whether Environment Canada declares it to be a Tornado or not. I decided to drive to a friend's workplace about 20 minutes from here after I logged off so we could have a very brief visit at 5 when she walked out of her office. That went fine.
It took almost 2 hours to get home! I've never seen so many cars pulled over on a 400 series highway due to visibility being so bad during a thunderstorm. My wipers were going full speed and I had my full light system on for the car and I couldn't see the car right in front of me. Because almost 25% of this city is without power, every intersection affected is treated as a four way stop and we have a very high percentage of bad drivers here.
My friend got home safely, I got home safely and Mike is home safely. (He also went out just before the storm.)

If you are on F B, I just shared a pic of the storm and it's results versus a hydro pole fairly close to where I live.

Happy anniversary OKay and Mr OKay
I had a great day visiting dgd 4days and family on Friday. Bus to station at 6.15am. I found an earlier train than the one I expected to catch there and caught that. There was a bother to find a public phone that worked and took coin. tried a different platform. dd picked me up. ate breakfast I'd brought with me. looked her renovations. Stuff everywhere. as rooms are being swapped / built/ decommissioned or gutted/ awaiting paint etc. It will be grand. They aim to rent perhaps 2 rooms to students to pay for reno. roof is mostly replaced. There's front porch roof still to replace. Raised back deck roof lets a lot more light and air through. Lots of works in progress. DD#1 was going to paint 2 rooms after I rang last night.
dd#1 drove 45 min to dd#2's. baby is named now, and tiny as a doll. gifts given. hugs and pictures when baby woke. Then out to lunch. Thai which suits me.
I was delivered direct to station. 1st city stop so I managed to get a seat. Not all were as lucky. I would have played the injured ticket to get a seat, but its much easier not to fight for it. I had a 25 min wait for a bus home. Talked to a lady who had been helped from injury by doing her own design of water / aqua therapy. I got bus to let me out at the end of my street. Dog didn't get a walk. I am glad of the running leads from my doors. Sigh - he did wake me at 2 to go out again.
today - saturday.
ph calls to and from friends. Needed to talk out some of my issues. Getting junk thoughts out of my head helps.
I cannot change anyone else.
I need be in this moment. If I take care of some everyday things today it will help my future whatever that may be, and heaven knows I may change my mind a thousand times if I push for future answers to future issues.
I've looked up yoga and pool times. I want back into doing what I can. Knowing that there is still much that I cannot. I won't put weight on that arm at yoga until it is cleared but I think the rest of me could do with it such as I am able. I'd need a bus to town , then walk. And that shopping cart for my yoga stuff.
I'd like to get to the pool today. The bus goes over towards that side of town. My hair wants a wash but I want to see if I can get some kinks out of my body in a heated pool first. If someone was here I would have tried lying flat in the bath tub last night. Neck / head was aching from my day. I did make a "hot rice" sock for my neck and took paracetamol and antihistamine that helps somehow.
Next up - eat.
See if I have togs / swimmers I can get into and out of.
this weekend
before monday. Look at whats in the unused shower recess and see if I can make it so that h ome a ssist man can look at whats what on monday in follow up from OT.. Its a dusty catch all of tubs/basins and cleaning stuff atm. seeing to walls and corners may be handy.
gratitude - I was not rained on yesterday, and today there is sun - against the whim of the forecasters.
bus near by
friends to talk too
I am mobile.
I have been to aqua aerobics long ago, so have some ideas. pool is heated.
running lead for dog
knowing what food helps me, and being able to find it.
My daughters are well, and happy in their mothering.

Lynlee: the heated pool is an excellent idea. Even if it doesn't help a lot at first, you'll feel much better since I'm sure many of your muscles are tense from the pain or the fear of pain.
Successfully wasted the day except for getting the houseplants watered and the sheets changed. Tomorrow I'll run the laundry (if the forecast holds.)
I did look ahead and have a sermon I can easily rework for July 28th. There's also one for August 11th but it was more specific to my church at that time, so I'm not sure if it will be a good basis or if I'll have to write a new one.
We are off to bed now.
