What does everyone think about a certain name announced today?

My dad is thrilled to bits with the name. His brother that just died in June was named George and my nephew's name is Alexander. Of course, my dad remembers when there was a King named George. It's funny because my dad isn't a real Royal follower, but those 2 names made him very happy. Of the 2 people I talked to today, neither of them think much of the "Louis" part, but I totally get it. (Lord Louis Mountbatten was Prince Charles' uncle that got blown up by the IRA while in his boat. William has Louis as part of his name.)

We like the names. Have already received one phone call about it since they belong to a family member as well. I say Kate is just cribbing the idea from another Kate - me!

Nice supper with ds, watching this week's Newsroom episode. Just had a video call with a business friend of dh's who is also a friend of mine because he is a lost soul and likes to be around me. He's getting married! That explains why I haven't had any 'feelings' that I need to check in on him (in the past when I have he has been feeling blue and was thrilled that I was 'connected' enough with him to check on him.)

I like the names - a lot. I have always been a fan of the Royals and the names mean something to me. Louis Mountbatten was a favorite of all the Royals and this, I think, is there way of always remembering him. Because I am Scot, the name Alexander was a very pleasant surprise. William and Kate both attended U of Edinburgh and the old "Queen Mum" was a Scot. George honors Queen Elizabeth's father, but all the other Georges throughout English history. I am very happy with the names. (And I think 3 is quite enough for a tiny baby! )

I see Cowinkie peeking in. She must be home. I was thinking of her this afternoon and thinking it was time for her to be back.

Very frustrating couple of days as I've been trying to complete projects that involve other people. Because I've been dealing with them, I haven't been able to get done at home what I wanted.

I did finally get the new printer installed, though, and so far it totally rocks. It's an inexpensive laser printer, thus only black & white, but it will automatically print on both sides of the paper. That's a feature I use a lot, and on the old printer it took a lot of time to print the 1st side and then manually flip the paper and run it through again for the other side. Sometimes the paper jammed or fed crooked so I'd have to rerun it. To have that automated is very useful.

Tomorrow I must work on the upstairs bathroom. I started tearing it apart before I got interrupted, which puts it at that stage where it looks worse now than when I started.

Waiting on the final draft of sewing group newsletter. Editor is not one of those mentioned earlier, she is in fact terrific at the job and I hope she never wants to quit.

I like the names okay, I guess. I mean, I would not be likely to use any of the three for a child, myself... but I am not royal, you know. And George is the name of one of my great (or maybe great-great?) grandfathers... so... yes, I am quite satisfied with the name now that I think of it.
I have enjoyed following the royal newlyweds and now new parents. Somehow, they just seem like nice people to me.

Well.. * whew * I have been organizing pictures ALL NIGHT since we last spoke!
Not entirely -- took time out to go to dmil's and then to town for supper for all of us, and I ate supper -- but otherwise, I have just about made myself blind, staring at this computer.

I have downloaded and renamed and cut/pasted into folders until I am about blue in the face.
Now, I am uploading pictures (240 pictures) to s hutterfly. Trying them b/c ds recommends, and they have 50 free prints for new accounts. * sheesh * DH will probably have a fit when he sees 240 pictures arrive in the mail... but I have not done pictures since MARCH, apparently.
NOT EVEN going to try to do the baby books w/pics of dgs from each month... that was an idea I had... but it can definitely wait until maybe Christmas. Then I might do his first 18 months for each great-grandmother. But right now... nope... I think 240 pictures will be quite enough.

It is truly going to take all night to upload these 240 pictures. When I started it said 48 minutes.
It has completed over half of them, and it STILL says 48 minutes.

And now ds tells me, no, it wasn't s hutterfly that he recommended, it was s napfish.
I have used s napfish and been very pleased. I am trying s hutterfly only b/c of the discount as a new customer.
* sheesh * After all this time, I certainly hope it all turns out okay.

Today dgd & I had a good time in the cool cave basement she brought her sewing over here and finished the project she was working on a cute tote that turned out well. We had a couple moments of scratching our heads to figure out the directions from the kit it took three heads to figure it out but finally got it!
While she was sewing I cut out some capris pants & I got the main seams done I still need to press the waist band and hem next.. After she was done I did some of my sewing & I was able to mend and double seam the center seams of the pants I did yesterday and had to redo the elastic as I had it twisted and did not notice glad that is fixed. I got another pr. of pants sewn up and hemmed. It feels great to get the progress on these yea! For the wardrobe boost.

I told dgd the kitchen was a mess b/c I was on strike she wanted to know what I was in strike from I told here "house work" it was my vacation of sorts w/out the littlest ones here I was taking a time out to sew. =D

It's 98* Outside here at 8:30 p.m. it was 102* today we could use some of that cold snap trade you for some heat and every one would be happy!

FINALLY -- pictures have all been uploaded & ordered. Good grief. I promise never to let 3 months of pictures pile up like that again.

Also -- ALL ironing is done and one load of laundry done.

I feel VERY productive for today, even if I have only been awake about 13.5 hours.
