Hi everyone and a Happy Anniversary to LisaB and Mr. LisaB. I did it - last night, I paid my bills, updated Quicken, balanced the checkbook, and transferred money from savings. I still have not done the child support calculations, but I will forward the instructions home so I can do it this weekend. Tonight is art class night, so it is not a good night for calculations. Last night, I also discovered that I do not have enough yarn for the pattern I want to do, so I will need to select another. (The yarn I wanted to use was a discontinued one I bought on clearance, several years ago, no chance of getting more). However, I did figure out the pattern and I can use the knowledge on the next attempt. I will need to frog it to recover the yarn (frog = rip it! rip it!).

Right now, I will forward an email home and print Hobby Lobby coupons and find the next time for the feral cat spay/neuter clinic. Pending stuff: database work, call friend about clinic, calculations. I could also sort through some emails but I think I will leave early today instead. I am the only one at payroll and there is nothing to do. Needless to say, I slept in this morning and will tomorrow also.

Hooray!!! New printer is installed and appears to be working well. I couldn't manage the wireless connection for some reason, so I probably won't be able to print from my smart phone, etc. -- unless ds figures out what the problem is -- but otherwise, everything appears to be doing fine! The sample photos it printed were definitely professional quality. I am impressed.
It is an HP Photosmart 7520 in case anyone is interested.
Uses the same cartridges as my old printer, so that was a plus -- BUT -- it insisted on having the "set up cartridges" installed before it would start working... so now I'm hoping I can hold on to my old ones and keep them from drying out. Right now they are tightly wrapped/taped in a ziploc bag.

I have also walked 2 miles w/ds & dgs...
been to cleaners...
dropped off key @ dbil's office...
dropped off travel info @ dfriend's house...
and straightened out some more "stuff" from the countertop!
Tomorrow is another day.

Napped. Brought in the laundry and put it away.

Wasted some time on the internet

Did the weekly kitchen cleaning chores and washed up the dishes from the day so far.

Helped dh tie up some brush to be picked up with the garbage. We had a lot because I've been ruthless in my trimming while weeding.

Ds has driven to Montreal (100 miles) tonight for a comedy concert at 11:45 p.m. He'll be home in the wee hours of the morning. He goes onto overnights for the weekend so this will help him switch over (and he slept until 3:30 today in prep for flipping back onto nights.) Poor guy just got his day/night back yesterday and now he's going back to nights. He doesn't get much done for the 16 hours he's off work because he's always out of synch with the world.

I was going to have chicken fingers for dinner but when I went to get them from the deep freeze, I found them on the counter next to it. I must have pulled them out when looking for something below and it was a white box on a white counter so I missed putting it back. There was nothing else in the deep freeze so I had to clean out the fridge freezer looking for some protein to have for my dinner (it is chinese for dh tonight.) Found some seasoned haddock fillets that fit the bill so my dinner was saved.

Dh has got most of the garbage out (just the compost is left) and now it is time for me to wash up the dinner dishes. I made up rice krispy treats because I wanted a little something sweet and I figured they'd be fairly low-fat.

Yea I've reclaimed the kitchen counters!
Took the trash out as well so that made me feel a lot better.
Coffee is ready to go for the new pot.
H. is napping in the cool basement.
H. changed up dinner plans with an invite to the taco stand don't feel like cooking anyway.
Dgd is putting a puzzle together. She's glad to be here after a vacation they traveled six hrs. and were camping on the coast 5 in the cab over camper cramped quarters dd said it was stressful.
I watered the chickens again and fed them they seem to be okay uncomfortable from the heat and the shady spot by the deck has very short grass! LOL!

After reading reviews of some of the more current phones they are having the same probs. we have with ours messages come in batches, low sound quality, slide on touch screen is not as responsive as we would like it to be. Looks like they have not resolved issues yet might need to wait I guess. Maybe it's because we only have 3G in our area no 4G here yet.

Dee or whoever was talking about Christmas in July at the camp ground maybe just a red table cloth from the 99 cent store would work if you have a table out side.

DD did put up some lighted candy canes along our driveway today and some new led lights going around our tree up front. She then draped snowflake lights from the bottom of the tree. Hopefully it will look like snowflakes falling through the tree. For this year that's all they're getting.

dh is really drained today -short of breath and bp up again. :| So glad we're not going far away. Plan to take him to an old train ride that we haven't taken in probably 25 years. About 70 miles from here. Then will head back this way and go out for dinner in Batavia. Glad I was able to talk him out of going down home for alumni weekend. Chances are he would have just said, "I'm not up to it".

Told dd tonight that she and her siblings will be getting some $$ from dh's db -the sale of his Mom's house. He wants to give each of the dgks (there were 10) a portion. Shelley's 2 kids he'll give each a $1,000. DGD18 will surely love getting that surprise for college. We did tell dd because we thought it might help alleviate a little of the pressure she's feeling right now. Not a lot of money but each child will get $2,000 so I'm sure that will help some. We had always said we didn't want any of what dbil got for selling the house because he spent the last many years of dmil's life taking care of her and doing lots of running for/with her, and always did all the improvements & upkeep to the house.

Have a good night everyone.

Some of these tasks will have to be pushed off until I get back. Just walked ddogs, I need to take meds, start the dishwasher and be sure my car is locked - p.m. routine. We had nice dinner w grilled chicken and salad and dh and ds did most of the clean up.

OTOH, house is in fairly decent shape for dcleaning lady tomorrow.

There is a lot of drama on the cruise forums I hang out on because of the Silver Shadow spectacularly failing their CDC inspection (responding to a comment by a whistle blower, the inspectors looked beyond the galley and found food and dirty dishes in the crews quarters.) Am seriously considering canceling our January cruise. There are two other cruise lines doing a similar routing so I could 'jump ship' so to speak right now and only lose a few hundred dollars.
