Thanks for saying that
Harriet. I fed that cat a few days ago some tuna water, did not feed it every day but glad the neighbor had a solution.
Dgd is busy putting her fav. puzzle together, she's not even noticed I decluttered others.
Working on cooking have boiled and peeled eggs, made a cobbler in the crock pot for got the vanilla

sh-h it will be our secret. H. likes half plums with the black berries

less seeds! This was a success in the big crock pot. But I still need a bit more liquid in it more like pan cake batter maybe in the fall when I will use the oven more. A peach one would be great.
Laundry day here.
I have a plan for dinner.

Sunny - Does that break down into doing 1 special card a week to finish them by Christmas? YGG!
I recently read that
most people have between 30 and 100 projects at any given time.
I tackled and completed 10 paperwork packets and logged about another 30. SMH, today I learned that being late getting taxes prepared and filed was costly. The interest & penalty ended up being about 50% of amount owed.

I am motivated to never let that happen again!
I tried on my outfit for next week. I am not pleased how it fits. It must have shrunk while hanging in the closet.

I'm going to have to buy another classic outfit. I call it my "marrying and burying" outfit. Something timeless and classic. Can be accessorized in multiple ways. I know what I want, but now I need to find it. *gulp* SHOPPING.

Hi Helia, Harriet & Harmony.
Harmony, I didn't mean to scare you! No, not 35....I think that would do me in! I have 16 projects. I called them "projects" for the want of a better term. This is what happens when I let things slide. I'm embarrassed to admit that these are mostly just ordinary deep focus chores and I thought by separating them and putting each on its own 3 x 5 card and giving it a special name would make more of an impression on me. I have tentatively numbered them in the order I want to do them, but that could change. My 3 x 5 card looks like this:
1. Bookcase
Start_______ Finish________
--go thru books one at a time
--discard unwanted books (recycle to library)
--dust shelves
--reorganize books kept on shelves
This way I can put an actual date of start and finish as well as check off each item. And I could record the amount of time each item took. This should not take more than an hour, if that. Other cards will take longer, such as the double cupboard in our hallway. It has two shelves for each section. This holds our linens as well as odd items and some craft items. I will probably do the top section on one day and the bottom on another day. Other things I want to do are the medicine cabinets and sink cabinets in both bathrooms. Each bathroom is a separate card and the description lines are --clean medicine cabinet and --clean sink cabinet. My closet and dresser need emptied and clothes gone through. Oh, I also made a card for my dgs11s quilt I need to finish, so it is done by the time he comes in Dec. I kept the instruction lines simple on the cards.
One thing I have finished is redoing my household book. I took everything out and discarded forms I didn't want, discarded outdated copies of insurance policies, etc. I updated that kind of info and printed some new forms from CEO's website -- and actually filled them out. Now the book corresponds with my 3 x 5 card system.
The other thing was that someone here had mentioned a medical booklet, so I put one together with all of dh's medical stuff. Since he has 6 drs. he sees he gets lots of papers from medicare plus the secondary ins., plus stuff for the Rx. That's a lot of papers. Now it's all in one book each with its own section with the newest in front. So easy to look something up if needed. Plus there is a section for each dr. for any letters or printed test results their office gives us. Each of these "projects" took a few days each.
Most all of these things are hidden chores, but stuff that eventually needs done or it overruns and becomes unmanageable....at least for me. Oh boy, now that this is in print in public I will be held accountable! That's motivation!!!
Didn't mean for this to become a book.
Thank you OKay.... Yes!! I just counted it out on the calendar and if I do one project card per week I should be finished two weeks before Christmas, just in time to take care of holiday decorations, etc. and be ready for dson's family.

Kerfuffle on the FB freecycle group today. I have only posted one thing and it didn't get snapped up. But that was back in the spring. Since then, I've been watching the wanted but the sense of entitlement is huge (i.e. "Looking for three bookcases, one in any condition because it is holding plants, 2 beautiful ones. I need to have them delivered here because I don't drive.")
Hmmm, she put in an order for very specific free items and requested free delivery as well. No problem, would you like me to rearrange the furniture in your house while I'm there, and load the books onto the shelf by colour, alphabetically by author, title, or just sort by content?)
I have bookcases that I could be donating because I'm a bit peeved with my over-entitled daughter who wants all my bookcases (but now is moving 6 hours from here instead of this city so we'd have to rent a moving truck to take a load to here - for 30 year old IKEA bookcases, it just isn't worth it.) But given between your over-entitlement and my daughter's, my dd gets the bookcases. Unless I manage to sell them.
I'm going to have a garage sale before winter if it kills me because I need to get things out of here so I can sort through more stuff. But I have to wait for ds's car (and stuff) to get out of the garage first. Dd will be back in Ontario by the end of October so a pile of things will go to her then. My nephew needs to figure out what I'm doing with his remaining things (all quite small except for a gorgeous antique roll-top desk of his mother's) because he's planning on heading to Japan for a while in the spring.
Dh and I discussed what we'll do if the house sale falls through and we have to actually list this place. In prep, I'll take pictures of the outside over the next few days so if we are listing in winter we'll have recent summer pictures so people can see how lush it is with all the trees in leaf.
Didn't get a thing done today except working on sermon ideas. Getting somewhere with that but need some notes I made on lament which are missing (they are 15 months old and I'm pretty sure I purged them but was hoping I hadn't got around to it yet!)

I've been invited to a sewing play date tomorrow with a friend and am trying to make it happen. Would love to finish class projects so I can show them at sewing group meetings.
CUOP from when I was out of town:
Okay ~ You mentioned Thursday about going to bank-you-don't-like because of their coin counter. Does your regular bank know that is the reason you are giving someone else some of your business? Any chance that since your MPB has been well established by now, your regular bank would be willing to get a new coin counter? Seems like that would a really nice way to boost their customer service to a local small business, and good PR for them in town. Might even encourage some kids to open savings accounts if they could see & hear the machine when they make deposits.
LisaB ~ Congratulations on your home loan!

Bookie - We mentioned the coin counter to the bank president when they were in process of building the-bank-we-like. He told us to bring our coins to them and the tellers will hand count/roll them.

There is no way we are going to do that to those gals! I feel bad enough each time I have to dump a load of bank bags on them (requiring them to open/unload the teller window multiple times to receive the bags). We typically leave the bags with them and return in couple hours to pick up empty bags and final deposit slips.
I ate my first Banana Cantaloupe today (thanks to DCousin for sharing from his garden). I'm not a fan. It was okay. But not good as "normal" cantaloupe, IMHO.
Putting prescription meds in LO ear. He said it was hurting. Doc told us to put these drops in his ear 3 times a day at first sign of problem. Hopefully they will take care of whatever is causing him pain.
DAunt stopped by to drop off a late BDay gift to LO. A size 12 long sleeved dress shirt. When I saw it being pulled out of the bag, I thought...
.NO WAY is that going to fit him. It is going to be way too big. He is only 5 years old. He can't possibly wear a size 12! However, I was wrong! It fits him. There is no way he could fit into a smaller size.

Off to bed. I worked a bit on the kitchen table. Filed my notes from the last preaching conference so I'll know where to find them when I'm looking for them in 15 months!
Also got a pile of stuff ready to take with me tomorrow. I'm out most of the day.
OKay: any chance the shirt is sized wrong?

news from Monday
yoga - caught the bus - then walked. got there as a car pulled in person said she was driving me to yoga until further notice. She had rung 45 min earlier -at time when I was hopping on the bus. Male instructor was there who was dubious about some of the exercises I was attempting.
lunch then doc appointment.
"full thickness tear of supaspinatus" and "gross subscapularis tendinopathy" seem the major players. or non participants in current attempts to action.
today
I wanted to go to one place - but realised I'd missed the bus that connected to that multi change journey. I went to see pdoc receptionist for the name of ortopedic guy who got her knee problem sorted.
Talked to her an age. (told pdoc I was just seeing this specialist - pointing to receptionist.)
I've been reading.
Seems like lots of past injuries I've just maintained as much function as possible over many decades, only now comes the clincher with new full thickness tear. God knows if anyone will look at this, or I am just declared "too old". Grumpy. Upset. uhur.

Wow! LO wears size 12? Maybe it is a brand that runs small. I feel sure my girls still have some kids size 12 clothes, esp. dd17.
It is 10 pm. I am going to bed. I need to be out of the house with dd15 at 7:15 in the morning to take her to the school to board the buses with the hundreds of other music students at our high school to head up to Interlochen camp for the high school's week of music camp, band camp for dd15. My ideal plan is to go for a jog after dropping off dd15.
Dd15 was able to get her science book while at the school today. She has an assignment due the first day of class, and it will require some time and work, so she is glad to get the book. She was out at a Dr. appt. when the kids taking this class were sent to pick up their books last spring, so she missed the pick up time. She has somehow gotten the hw assignment. I don't think dd17 has any summer assignments??
We helped take 2 loads of stuff, including most of her furniture, to A's new condo tonight. There were 2 SUVs and our Odyssey minivan being loaded to the hilt. Her new condo is a 3 minute drive from her apt. Then, we all went out for pizza together at a new pizza place. It was good! I limited myself to 1 piece but also ate a salad and some appetizers.
I'm tired and just jabbering so I'm going to bed.

(((LynLee))) That does not sound like what you wanted to hear. BWTG on the yoga
Kathryn - I checked
reviews on a shirt similar to the one LO received. Your right! The reviewers state the shirts seem to run small.
