My exsonil lives for sports and always has. He has been coaching for at least 13 years now in his various school districts that he has taught at. He is finally tenured. Yes, we too laughed at his idea of guaranteed sports ability due to a racial profiling of sorts. As for my dgsons, he puts them in every sport possible and almost always coaches or co-coaches their teams. On top of that they have had golf lessons and this summer dd2 had them do tennis. Her ex wasn't impressed with that. Not manly enough I guess.

I still haven't showered and I need to run to the grocery store. I will have dgd3 tomorrow and don't want to take her, if I can avoid it.

Dh has all the sprinkler heads flagged. They left for lunch, so I went out to look and there is one busted off. I am assuming it isn't the first time and they can easily repair it.

I guess if I would get something ironed to wear that I might actually get that shower.

Just popping in to say all ok here. We were gone most of the day Saturday to dsgs's wedding, all day yesterday to Niagara Falls and 1/2 of today to cardiac rehab, S am's for gas, W mart, and then a pair of sneakers for me and lastly to T Horton's for lunch. Just finished my bowl of soup at home -it was much too hot to ever get it down there.

Our bus trip yesterday was very interesting (NOT). Started off with the driver bringing the wrong bus and not enough seats. Waited nearly an hour for a replacement bus. Ok, that could be forgiven since they extended our time in Niagara. But it turned out we were still short 1 seat from what they told us. Mistake #1 -leader of our group ended up sitting on the steps -a big No-No! Then the driver didn't really know where he was going. Missed several turns on the way, talked incessantly with passengers (while turning his head to do so.) Found out later at least one or 2 of the passengers witnessed him texting -of all things! He was told by many of the new 4-way stop down the road from here (because of all the teenagers killed a few weeks ago). Well he stopped there, but blew through a 4-way stop just down the road from us. Fast response from the tour bus company. Had to stop at the camp store on the way home today for a complete refund from the bus company with a letter apologizing for everything that happened. Also stated that the driver would be addressed and no longer employed. Feel bad for him, but that being said wouldn't take another trip with him at the helm. There were other things along the way, but too numerous to mention.

Dh is feeling a little better today. He thinks the Lasix finally kicked in yesterday, MT. Of course now I have to battle with Med Co to get the new prescription of doubled strength. It was declined on Friday. Have enough of the 20 to get by for about 3 weeks, so have time for them to straighten it out.

Twins I still say she should go by bus and you can either take her other things up when it is convenient for you to visit or ship them to her. Alternatively, your dh should split the driving with you - you do GA and he does the run up to K-town. After all, last time we checked, she was his daughter too!

I'm making progress here. Some business work is done, paid two bills (more to do) and the grocery list is made up. I'm going to drive down to the market town with ds and do groceries and his car registration. Will check out TSC to see if they have the candies I love.

Good Luck, Dee, on your DH's meds change. It can be so frustrating, at times, with red tape, etc... when something is entirely needed and there is a justifiable reason for it. I'm glad the med is helping your DH, too.

(((Harriet))), Why do appliances break down? I hope it's repaired soon and you get up and running again.

WTG, Norma! How did you lose the 25 Lbs.? Did you do a specific program, count calories or points? Or did you just cut back on what was going "in" and beef up your activity "output"? Congratulations!

Nancy, I hope your sting heals quickly and doesn't bug you from itching or swelling or anything.

Kathryn, The photo idea of the house on the tile is a great idea.

Was doing a quick CUOP and I'm waving to anyone I've missed. The guys are getting firewood split with a log splitter, are filling a 1962 Chevy dump truck, and will be stacking wood at DH's dfriend's/a.k.a. our neighbor and then again at our house. Will be doing a laundry catch-up today, after the wood-getters' showers are done this afternoon and plan to scrapbook on another page again. Might crochet on dgd's Christmas afghan, but have a story to do, but just don't "feel" like doing it. It goes to Australia and isn't due until Sept. I'll put my thinking cap on, got the characters' names, a vague plot, but just not the POV yet. Then, I keep thinking "what if"-- I get too many words? In that case, I'll send it to my other editor. It's nice there are options.

Today our grand daughter said my favorite thing is to pick peaches in grandma's yard how fun is that?

The sting is just an annoyance now nothing out the the norm I'm glad about that!

IVY To answer your questions - Mr. Guy and I both completely stopped all desserts, sweets, treats and etc. Anything with sugar attached. This was soooo hard because we both love cookies. (And bags of candies.) Our doctor put us both on Metformin and this really seems to help. We both really watch what we eat and make sure there are no "seconds". For two people who always loved to eat, this is difficult, but it came down to taking care of our health.

Now that post lunch rest nap is done it's time for another round I need to dump the trash before trash day tomorrow.

Did the groceries, bank, license bureau, a bike ride to return church key and for corn (no luck), drive to next village for corn (luck.)

Dinner was very good. The boys had pork ribs, I had a frozen lasagna and we both had corn. My stomach still turns at the thought of ribs. I was sick one time after having them. Looking back now, it was probably gall bladder, at the time I guessed a 24 hour flu. But they are very fatty so I'm not interested in them at all.

Despite two grocery stores, the bank and the bike ride, I was still very short of steps for the day so dh and I went around the block on foot. I'll end up at 7500 for the day if I can be a bit active this evening. My legs are very sore as are my knees. The legs had a 50 minute hill workout walk on Saturday and then I tried biking a different way (picturing myself pulling the pedal up instead of pushing down) and that used very different muscles (and hopefully less knees.) It was a much more efficient ride (I had hills to do) but soreness is the result.

My evening tea is steeping and I'll do some prep for sermon writing while sipping it.

Just wanted to say hello to everyone. We just had a doozy of a storm; it rolled directly over us, so tv, computers, etc. were unplugged. It's still raining, but thunder is off in the distance at the moment.

Norma....WTG on losing that 25 lb. I know it couldn't have been easy!
Wow, Dee....you sure had a busy weekend. I'm glad to hear that dh says he feels like he's better. Is there any way his dr. could call the ins. co. to put in a word for his meds. ?

I had a good day....I got some stuff done at my desk; got two lol done to put away; got the bed stripped and remade and general pick up with dailys done.

Helia....WTG to dd for her oboe playing! Yes, french horns are a difficult instrument to learn. My grandfather (paternal) played french horn for the Minneapolis symphony way back in the early 1900's.
Kathryn....I'm sorry that your legs/knees are hurting.

Oh, this evening at 6 pm. I checked online for Fed. court as instructed on Friday for instructions for the rest of this week and I was released and do not have to contact them any more! I am relieved!

It is raining really hard again.

Don't know how MAGICAL it has been, but * whew * -- busy afternoon for me!
DH is doing laundry -- his towels/underwear marathon -- so I did all the errands on my own:
* cleaners
* insurance office
* post office
* bank
* Wmart (groceries for us/dmom/dmil)
* funeral home (to get more thank you notes for dmom)
* drug store for dmom
* home -- dh helped unload groceries
* dmom's
* dmil's -- w/dh
* back to town to get supper for myself

Also spent 40 minutes on phone w/A T & T this morning, b/c they are double-billing me. Promised to take off the charge they had attached to credit card (second time I've tried to cancel this) AND promised to call to confirm refund. More

I'm ready to put my feet up.
