Today my bee sting that happened yesterday was itching argh!
Cable line got knocked down so had to call and they got out and put it back up and will move it to a higher location later. Glad I had a book and dgd was napping so not much of prob. h. can have cable now he's home from work and cleaning up.

Gardened for almost an hour until it was too dark and mosquitoes got too bad. There are still several hours to do but at least it is a start. I also trimmed the tree that is overgrowing the driveway so ds hits the branches. It was also overgrowing the front walk way so I took off a fair bit (it was an evergreen so it was only bottom branches. There's some weeding that needs to be done in it - it has been letting light in enough at the base that things are growing. In the fall we'll dump a load of leaves in there to provide mulch to stop that.

Dinner was fine and since I cooked, dh had to wash up (so I got the gardening time.)

I'm still exhausted.

Need to read but don't know if I can. I'm also very hot and sweaty.

Home from dmil's birthday dinner... ready to relax, but I must get finished w/my part of dmom's thank you notes.

Now I am going through the notes provided by funeral home and writing in ddad's name. I have already addressed 2/3 of the cards, and plan to finish up tonight. (I would have them all done, but dmom SAID she would do them for the things that came to the house.) Dmom will only have to put her address labels and stamps on, and write personal notes if she feels they are necessary. That is why this process is taking so long -- she really would like to write beautiful, loving, personal notes on every single card... all 83 of them... but b/c of her back pain PLUS the need to keep foot elevated, she is unable to sit for long periods to do this, and her handwriting is sorta shaky looking, so she hates that and thinks it gets worse as she gets more tired.
PLUS she is just overwhelmed and frustrated w/all the legal issues, such as Harriet is speaking of, and it is just natural for her, a lifelong procrastinator, to put this off. * sheesh *

BookSaver, I was with you thinking that they were premade gates but they are not. Today they completed all the fencing and the large gate. They started at 8 and left before 5. I watched them make the large gate. It was made in place with cross bars for reinforcement. I can't even begin to explain it. Tomorrow they will attach the hinges. It has a round pole type thing that raises and lowers into a hole they made in the concrete. It also has a single wheel attached that will support it when opening and closing it. It was made to open out. There is a 5 ft section and a 11ft section. I know this was a terrible job of explaining it but I was amazed at how it was done and how quick. I am sure that the 3 small gates will be made in place also. They did move 1 post to make the 32 inch opening a 4 ft opening.

Yesterday morning dh waited until 8 for them to show up. He left and they came 5 minutes later. I called dh and he did not come back. Because of that he cost us a lot of money. Grrrrr.... He had back filled all the holes after he removed the fence. He removed all the cement that was visible. He had intended to tell the guy to move the small back gate opening 12 inches to the west. That way all the holes would be new. Well the guy thought he wanted them in their original holes. When they started digging there were a lot of holes that had cement further down. Those posts had came right out and dh had mistakenly thought they did not have cement. The guy told dh this morning that they had spent all of yesterday morning digging that cement up. So that is wasted time and money but too late now. If it wasn't for that and moving the post, I am sure that they would have been completely done today.

Men do not know how to communicate. (I know there are exceptions). Dh's coworker who had them build his fence told dh today that he had wanted his gates to open in and they built them to open out, so they had to change them. The coworker also said the guy didn't ask questions but did what he thought best. Well I sure wish the coworker would have told dh that before, so that we could have avoided the problems. I told dh in the future, he needs to make sure that anyone who does work for us knows exactly what he wants, so we avoid stuff like this from happening. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Sorry for the vent............

I was so tired earlier and my bs was too low to go to bed, so I had a snack and will check to make sure it is up, so I can safely go to bed.
