I'm back home. There was enough work to keep me busy at Presbytery while dh ran an errand. Then we had lunch and did a few groceries. The store I picked was out of OJ and turkeys, two of the three reasons I picked that store.
Next up - figure out what's next up. I do have an unexplained, overwhelming urge to vacuum, though!

Re: TOTH or BOTH Tuesday
So far:
s2s
breakfast, meds, supplements
read obits, posts, emails
put dirty laundry in the utility room
started 1 load of laundry
said my prayers and Novenas
wrote in my journals
To do:
finish #2 load of laundry
put all laundry away
possibly wash master bathroom rugs
work on 2 stories
contact a dfriend
write a letter this evening
get out a book to read and put others away where I can "find" them
I think I'll choose to do things either by the TOTH OR BOTH, instead of doing both. I don't want to get too rigid or it's not going to get done. I rebel and slough off and forget to do them. I'll take my current routine cards and put the acronym beside them. If I don't happen to get done by TOTH, I can always shoot for the BOTH.
Have a great day!

Re: TOTH or BOTH Tuesday
Drum set was taken within 3 minutes of posting it. DNeice wants them.
Lunch was excellent. However now I am out of several basics so going to town is a must. We go through about 4-7 heads of lettuce a week. I've tried growing lettuce during the summer months, but the heat always gets it.
Ivy - it sounds like you might have a tool bar installed. Maybe check your list of programs to see if anything with the word "toolbar" is installed. Uninstalling it should be a doable.
UPS just dropped off a couple online orders. I'm so addicted to the ease of that. I needed some items to send to LO teacher for classroom treasure chest (reward system). I found these finger lights and gave them a try. I REALLY like them! They look like a good thing to use on Halloween or anytime you want the little ones to be very visible. Who am I kidding? I admit to putting them on my fingers and played with them.

Re: TOTH or BOTH Tuesday
Sorry my explanation in the first post wasn't clear, Ivy.
Grrr... ... dishwasher repairman is here, and as clueless as the first one was, this one is just that cocky. But maybe he's right?
Florida villagers, especially, but
for everyone
He says my machine's concerns are hard water (making any problem "my" fault, I notice
, not manufacturer's, although this is only an 11-month-old dishwasher), and that he's seen this over and over because he used to do this work in Florida, where many people have hard water. He says that about a year ago, dishwasher detergent manufacturers took the phosphates out of their products because of environmental concerns. Up until then, people with hard water never even knew anything was different in a dishwasher for them than for those with "soft" water, but now we're seeing the effects.
Well, I was NEVER told I needed to do anything special with the new dishwasher. He says buy powdered detergent only, also consider the new oxyclean product (?) made for this very purpose. Also, every 6 months run it with vinegar alone. (Well, then I would have only run it with vinegar once since it was new, so it isn't like I've missed a bunch of times to do that!.) Sigh. Again, can't help thinking... ... previous dishwasher 25 years without a house call or problem or any thought given to it at all.. .... this one, repair plus a "down" dishwasher for almost 3 weeks, all in 11 months. Can it really be only because detergents had one ingredient removed? He's actually sending me another filter in the mail, since he anticipates I'll need it later? Huh?

Re: TOTH or BOTH Tuesday
* Walked 2 miles
* Talked to dmom. Asked her if the statute of limitations had run out on my birthday dinner, told her dh & ds were concerned that she had forgotten about me. She said of course not, she was just waiting to see when would work out best for them. So we are eating supper tomorrow night. Now... remains to be seen if I get a card or gift... LOL
Cooling off... headed to the shower...
Ivy, I never work TOTH/BOTH, so don't feel like the Lone Ranger if you have trouble getting on that schedule. I think I am more "task-oriented" than time oriented... but it does help me remarkably to set the timer for 15 minutes, just to get myself started on something, b/c I'm always amazed at how much can be accomplished in that amount of time.
Vacuuming all my floors can certainly NOT be accomplished in that length of time...
Ivy -- do you keep your journals forever or do you periodically toss them? And if you keep them, are you ever concerned that they will be read by someone else?
I am a very sporadic journalist... but sometimes it does seem theraputic... and then it is anxiety-producing b/c I start worrying that someone will read them (either before OR after my death) and think badly of me -- b/c I will look like such a nut case.
LOL @ Kathryn's overwhelming urge to vacuum... wish you could come vacuum MY house...
Waving to Nancy... can't believe it's flu shot season already. I've seen the signs at CVS, etc. We usually wait until October to get ours, though.
Waving to Twins. (((HUGS))) for your balky iPad.
And OKay -- I missed the drum set notice! What happened? Did LO lose interest or did you & Mr. OKay start to fear you would lose your sanity?
(((Harriet))) -- dishwasher -- nooo... they just don't make things like they used to. * sigh *
Waving to ALL!!! When I return, I will be fresh and clean... with refreshed color on my hair... and a load of clean laundry in the washer!

OKay, if you are not born organized, you are definitely born SELF-DISCIPLINED. I am lacking in both qualities, I fear. I float along, and just re-file my cards. * sigh * But I am sooo much happier when I can cross things off my checklist/file COMPLETED cards and see accomplishments. I just can't seem to REMEMBER the happy feeling when the lazy feeling starts getting in the way.I am DEFINITELY not BO. Without SHE cards I just float along and do whatever strikes my fancy

Re: TOTH or BOTH Tuesday
Finally got all my scripts ordered, I think. Sidetracked trying to sign in to Caremark online which led to long phone call. When I first called doc re script, the answering service picked up; when I called back later, I got lots of phone menus and it said to contact your pharmacy re: refills, only to leave message with them regarding a script that has to be picked up at their office. So I called Caremark back and we'll see if that script (with no refills on it) gets processed.
I also looked at online ramps since PT said Macs may need a ramp...OTOH, she said she hasn't found a ramp that worked in a small sedan such as the Toyota corolla, then OTOH, dd will probably take the Toyota back to school in Jan if all goes well, OTOH, maybe I need a ramp for my Honda Pilot but OTOH dMacs could only ride in the very back cargo area since the doors won't open wide enough for a ramp for the back seat. OTOH, I worry a lot about how long Macs will make it...
Finally got iPad to sync. I managed to schedule a pedicure for right after the PT so I will take it with me to read...

Re: TOTH or BOTH Tuesday
I guess it is BOTH now.
Another lol folded, 2 DPCs made, some work in ds' room done - not much though. Homemade cookies made. Girls welcomed home - overall a happy day at school. Dd15 got comments from almost all teachers along the lines of: "Are you ds/dd17's sister?" Or. . "I didn't know there was another [our last name]." The math teacher had a short conversation with her about ds, calling her by dd17's name the whole time. Dd15 didn't correct her -- b/c it is just the first day of school, she said. When she got home, I asked her, "How does it feel to have so many people ask you about being ds or dd17's sister?" She said, "I'm used to it."
We've even had teachers ask us at conferences if we had more kids coming through. . .. .Some homework, but not a lot yet. The APUSH teacher didn't assign an insane amount of work (4 essays!) due in 3 days as he did when dd17 had him. Thank goodness.
Off to work in ds' room. Then, at 4:15, I'll take dd15 to her oboe lesson, then out to eat (date night w/ kids - we'll just fold GG into the date night schedule if she stays), then to drumline practice at 7 pm.

Re: TOTH or BOTH Tuesday
Twins - Good job considering all the options......or hands.
LO has not weakened in his desire to play drums so we broke down and bought an electronic drum set. The edrum gives LO several more options & abilities in playing drums and it gives us quiet and peace. LO wears a headset 99% of the time. We do have amp to hook the edrums to if the full sound effect are needed someday. For now, all we hear is a quiet tapping when LO hits drum or cymbal with sticks. NICE!
Nodding affirmative to the lost of sanity.I missed the drum set notice! What happened? Did LO lose interest or did you & Mr. OKay start to fear you would lose your sanity?

Re: TOTH or BOTH Tuesday
Poor Macs.
CI: Still working through the list of reports and calls. Must file papers in the notebooks, a never ending job. I have an outfit picked out to wear tonight but must wash my hair before I change clothes.
The place where we saw the movie yesterday is a 2nd-run house that is very strict about no one being allowed to bring outside food or drinks into the building. (If they see someone with a bottle of pop or candy bar that was not purchased at their concession stand, they have the right to evict the person with no refund.) To balance that, before every movie they give away a bunch of coupons for free popcorn or a drink. I won a coupon!
It expires in a month, guess I'll be going to see another movie on the big screen soon. Although technically the coupon does not say it has to be used with a movie ticket, I could just run in for popcorn.
Yesterday morning I finished a thorough inventory of our pantry cupboards & freezer. I need to figure out how to use up a bunch of stuff before restocking for winter.
OK, break time is over, back to the filing.
