:D Managed to wash/dry sheets before the thunder got worst. The cable/internet went out during one of DH's games with the Manning brothers both playing in it. But cable/internet came back on, so he didn't miss the end. :D I'm glad we kept our power. The lights blinked a few times. Now it's quiet outside. :D Our kitty cat hates lightning.

I've been reading a book DD mailed me, wrote her a letter to thank her about it, and might do more reading and letters again now.

Have a nice Flow-through Sunday, Everyone!

No heat wave here, Nancy. Think it's only up in 50's tomorrow and rain. Sounds raw to me.

We're heading to bed in just a very few minutes. Have to be to cardiac rehab by 7:30 tomorrow. Just did a sheet for dh to run in to the cardiologist tomorrow -depending on what they say at rehab regarding his weight. At his low point after losing so much fluid (by medication) he was at 169 on the 6th, now he's back up to 183.6. He started at 192 on the 29th of August. And he's beginning to feel and see the climb. But at least he feels better than he has in some time.

Will try to get back here tomorrow afternoon. See dh's primary at 9:30.

Made yummy goulash for dinner. I probably ate too much!
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Waving to Lynlee, who may just be getting "here" soon, and to Kally who dropped in.

Cowinkie, I've narrowed your mention of Charles Price down to a couple possibilities, but there are several Charles Prices! Which one interested you this morning?

BookSaver, that party, with all the children playing too, sounds ideal for your sister and for you!

Sadie, is your son feeling better?

We don't have any particular news. Nurse said not to be surprised if this was over without HRH knowing it, although that seems almost impossible. But there were little particles in the specimen, the dr said (hope this is not TMI) and so anything is possible, including potentially, a break-up of the stone after the scan. We don't really believe it. Just hate to resign ourselves to calling, tomorrow, the urologist who did the previous surgery. He is a nice man, but a very bad memory, you know? :)

I've been to the grocery late and gotten the fixin's for steeped (Sassy) water, which I'll make before bed. Dr at ER knew about Sassy water, too, and said yes it would be good to make a pitcher. I just hadn't been able to get time until now. (recipe in our beverage recipe section and also on the net of course)

Oh, shoot, just realizing my extra pitcher is over at dear uncle's - oh well, I must improvise.

Btw, sad to report that dear uncle is alone at home again after dear aunt had to go back to the nursing home. She requires professionals to lift and turn her now and help her when she sits up, etc. Dear uncle and one nurse couldn't handle it any more. I only had my neighbor back a few weeks.

Harriet the Charles Price that I was referring to is a minister from Toronto who has a part of his church service televised each Sunday morning. This morning he was dressed so casually and I think that is part of the appeal for me. I grew up in churches where the minister wore a long black robe. (Anglican church for most of my church years as there were more teen events at the Anglican church than at the United church.)

Whoops, Cathy, forgive me! I thought it was Cowinkie who mentioned it, so obviously I hadn't slept enough at that time! Thanks for letting me know - yes, I do know which Price he is, then, and now makes sense because you'd would be close by there. Your post was funny, so I will compliment both you and Cowinkie and say you both can be funny in your posts, so that must have gotten me off-track! Now I am attributing the giggle correctly.

Waiting to see if dh shows up on skype. I'm exhausted so just want to go to bed.

Ds had a little meltdown tonight. We are selling his childhood home while he's away and he's really going to miss it. I feel so awful that we are doing this to him. It would only mean waiting a few more months but dh is hell-bent on getting out of here as quickly as possible.

Ds is aware of how lucky he is, one of his coworkers at work didn't understand because she never had a childhood home, the family moved around all the time.

Hello to everyone... hard to really cuop b/c I'm two days behind and keeping one ear tuned to dgs in his playpen in our bedroom... but I do want to send lots of good wishes to HRH & Mr. MT... hoping they both feel lots better soon... AND lots and good wishes to Mr. Dee AND Dee AND dd/dsil/etc. Good gracious. (((BIG HUGS)))

(((HUGS))) for Kathryn's ds.

Late night home from ballgame, which we won in the last ten seconds, leaving dh THRILLED, and me, happy, but irritable that it took so long and they came so close to losing, you know? Nerve-wracking and tiresome. Dbil was quite entertaining though, as he went from depths of despair to sheer ecstasy to furious anger to delirious happiness, moment by moment. LOL.

Church this morning... then had to get groceries for dmom.
Gatorade, chicken noodle soup, crackers... yes. You see where this is leading.
Dmom called Sat. morning and said she did not need me to stay home with her, but she was running fever and felt like she had the flu. Said she almost called us to take her to ER Friday night. * sigh * So. Didn't know what to do, but we were just heading out the door when she called, and she said her neighbors were home and ddil was home, so she would be fine. So I went on to the game.
Talked to her again before game and after, and she did sound okay... and then today, she seemed okay... I mean, sick, but capable of being alone.
These are the times that try my soul and make me miss ddad soooo much and make me sooo nervous.
DH is just NOT going to be the patient, caregiving sil that some of these village men have proven to be. This is influenced somewhat b/c both dmom's parents ended up in nursing home -- although dmom did offer to have them come live with her. And dmom says she does NOT want to be a "burden" on us... but when she is ill, it makes me sooo nervous.

And when she is well, she is always talking about places she wants to go -- vacations/trips/etc... and I/we are just not up to that either. DH and dmom's travel style is just too different. And the whole thing just makes me sooo nervous.
Good gracious, I wish she and my daunts could be free to travel together. * sigh *

I know... my worries are so small-time and silly... forecasting trouble down the road which most likely will never occur... but I do feel sooo much more "alone" when dmom is not feeling well.
Tomorrow is another day.

((lucylee)) of course you feel that way. Assuming this is a bug of some type for your dmother, don't let it get you down too much - it will pass quickly. Not a predictor of anything. Her resistance may be down, though. Something to work on maybe.

((Kathryn's ds)) Take photos. Photos now of him and house at this age, and then put those with old photos. Also he can carve his initials somewhere unobtrusive! Can you take plants with you? Arrange to come back and get one later?

I made the same size batch of steeped water and just put it into two quart jars. Looks very pretty this way, since I determined to put cukes in this time whether HRH particularly likes that ingredient or not. I think it's good for him. Peeled just a few strips off before slicing and slices look almost festive.

Goodnight all!

Pretty sure it IS just a virus -- been hearing that something is going around -- but with her Chron's Disease, it is sooo easy for her to get dehydrated and everything. She is afraid if she went to the ER they would put her in the hospital, and she says she really is not that sick right now -- and certainly did not look that sick to me earlier. I mean, the kitchen was straightened up, dishwasher running, you know -- she didn't look like someone who'd been flat on her back for 36 hours...
Anyway, the plan is that she will call her regular doctor first thing in the morning and try to get an appt ASAP tomorrow!
Then, she will try to cancel the foot doctor appt (2 hours away, remember) and reschedule it for maybe next week.

* sigh *

Thanks for the reassurance, Harriet. She got to talking about ddad, and how she HAD TO think about a Living Will and getting longterm care insurance, b/c she did NOT want to live in a nursing home when/if the time came that she couldn't care for herself, and she hoped she could pay someone to stay with her at her house, like dfil did, etc. etc. I just let her talk when she gets like this, b/c I can't just say, "Oh that is not necessary... " -- b/c even without the longterm care insurance, she should be able to pay someone for quite a while when/if the time comes... and I'm sure that is the route dh would want her to take, AND which would be more comfortable for all of us.

I have to keep reminding myself... it has ONLY been 4 months and 10 days since ddad passed away. The person she is today is NOT the person she will be a year from now. Just have to be patient...
Tomorrow is another day.
