Finally managed to get something going around here... one load of laundry hanging to dry, one load in washer now.
Talked to dmom -- she & duncle/aunt are planning to go Tues. to pick out the monument.
She did NOT make it to church this morning, b/c the antibiotic that knocked out the infection she was suffering created the sometimes expected result of a yeast infection. So. If it's not one thing it's ten. Especially where dmom is concerned.

She still sounds like she is sorta turning a corner, though. I asked if she WANTED me to go w/them, b/c it would be POSSIBLE for me to make it Tuesday, but difficult... and she said no -- she just didn't want me to feel I was not included if I wanted to go. As you all know, group travel is NOT my strong suit, so I told her no, I was okay, and for her to be sure and call me if duncle started pushing for something she didn't like, so she sould say, "Well, lucy just doesn't like the sound of this..."

Duncle wanted to go tomorrow, but dmom told him she hated to cancel physical therapy again, without giving 24 hour notice, so if it was all the same to him, would Tues. be okay. He agreed, apparently. I told her she could also check local prices tomorrow, b/c she has a particular style in mind, and is not sure they will have it at the place duncle wants to go.
I also said duncle might be mad if they made the trip to TN and then she didn't buy it there after all, and dmom said, "Well, he can get glad in the same britches he got mad in."
Good to hear dmom sounding a little spunkier.

I think dh is going to want to buy groceries tonight when the Falcons' game goes off. He wants to do yardwork tomorrow.

Kathryn -- just b/c dh cancelled the NZ trip now, there is no law against y'all taking a trip at some point between now and February, you know. ;) Does he come home in February -- or are y'all already planning to go there then? I may have missed something also.
Yes, I understand this is a sign of good parenting. I'm happy for him. I'm proud of him. I'm pleased for him. I hurt all over. (One of those statements is not like the others!)
ALL of those statements make perfect sense, however.

Harriet, the boys are at their dads for the week so that is why dgs9 ignored his dm. The stepmom wants to pretend dd2 does not exist. Dd2 ended up having to load the kiln this afternoon, so she did not go to the game. I think those boys need a reality check. They really take her for granted.

Db called me Wednesday night to tell me that he had cut his hand while using a skill saw. It was in the fatty area of the thumb on the palm side of his hand. It was a 3" cut and very deep. He drove himself 40 miles to the hospital. The surgeon stitched it up but wanted him to see the specialist that was coming the next day. He was afraid db would lose use of his thumb. The specialist assured db that once it healed, he would be good to go. With him being a diabetic, healing is a concern. Db did not want dm to know, since she is still on her Vegas trip. Today is db and dsisil's 40th anniversary. Tonight he called and I answered the phone saying "Happy Anniversary." His reply was " yeah, right, guess where I am?" To which I replied "the hospital, what's wrong with dsisil?" He had taken her to the hospital because she was not doing well at all. They did a CTscan that showed she was full of infection. The surgeon said he would give her a day or two to see if being on IV antibiotics helps. If it doesn't he will send her to Kansas City for surgery. Their ddil is an OB nurse and she told them at the time, that dsisil needed to be on strong antibiotics following her surgery and no one listened. The surgeon said that with emergency surgeries there is a high risk for infections. 4 years ago dsisil had abdominal surgery that was botched. There were several months that we wondered if she would pull out of it. Db is concerned that the same thing is happening again and he is worried whether she can recover from all of this. Db ended up telling dm tonight about dsisil and his hand. She called me and said that either she needs to stay home or else put the 2 of them in a bubble while she is gone. It has happened a lot over the last 40 years.

Had to put a blanket on the bed tonight when dh went to bed. We needed one last night.

Plan to run errands tomorrow. Then dance class is Tuesday and I have a hair appt on Wed.

Better head to bed.
