Hi everyone! I got my refrigerator all nice and clean last night. I disassembled the shelves, washed them and got all of it done right (which I will probably not do again until next October for the next Halloween party!). How did I have so much cat hair in the fridge? Do they sleep there in the summer when I am not home? Considering how many things dFosterCat Lara has figured out how to open, it is possible. I also washed the outside of the kitchen windows and doors (insides had been done earlier). I worked with babycat (foster) and found he likes to be held right next to my face and rub on my chin. Don't think he counts as feral anymore! This morning, for the first time, I was not greeted with a hiss and he was not hiding when I went into his room.

Today, I did a document review at payroll. I think I did a rather good job of it. I called and rescheduled an appointment and made an appointment for babycat's testing. I expect he will be ok, he really seems to want to meet the other kittens and he must be cleared first. I ate lunch with a friend, but her email said 1230 and I read 1200, so I was really early. My fault not hers. While there, DD11 called and I told her about the babycat. She suggested Durango for a boy (I think he is a male). No one has liked my ideas - Thanthalteresco and Rashaverak, from Arthur C. Clarke's Childhood's End.

Tonight, I am going to the knit/crochet group. I haven't been to the one on Friday in a while. After that, there is more work to be done in the kitchen: table and chair hotspots, mopping, and (if I get really ambitious) Kelly's mission of toothbrush cleaning the faucets. I should also paint the ceiling, so I can put cat stuff in there instead of in the guest bath, during the party.

I did get outside and clean the front porch. I scrubbed all the furniture and all the windows and hosed everything off including the floor and the pavers further out. I haven't been doing the porches this way. DH sometimes blows off the leaves with leaf blower, but there's nothing like soap and water to get something really clean.

DH came home after I'd fallen asleep and I asked him why he didn't call for payroll amount.......... .......... oh no it's Thursday, we're working tomorrow....when you reminded me earlier I thought YOU were confused....and he goes and looks at the hall clock which shows date.... so helper didn't get his check today... and he leaves message that no they won't be working tomorrow. Sigh...

He's out with shower fawcett information trying to get a new piece (cartridge?) for the inside...and we're hoping it's available and he won't have to put a whole new fawcett in. I'd go out and tackle the back porch but my back's in bad shape now.

Lucylee, sorry the cops stopped you. Don't they send you renewals in the mail? We get them here and we must take all our information down - birth certificate, I can't remember what else, a bunch of stuff; just to prove we aren't aliens guess!

Elizabeth, I've used replacements too for my other set, but the replacements for this set is very pricey. I wouldn't have gotten 2 plates for the $ I paid for all that I got at GWill! And no shipping either!

Back from dinner (at Subway) and shopping. I bought a 12" sub so my lunch tomorrow will be the leftovers.

I'm thinking of heading to bed soon. Got a burst of energy at the end of the shopping because the check-out clerk was fully engage so that perked me up.

Our car is 1 year old today. We went just over 26,046 km and got an average of 5.4 l/100km gas mileage for the year. For you Yanks, that 16,184 miles and got 43.5 mpg. Being a family of record keepers, that is duly noted in the car book. Our current tank of gas is giving us great mileage, better than 51 mpg. Partly because the car is getting older (the older our other car got the better the gas mileage), partly because we had good long runs since the last fill-up (runs under 5 miles lower our average per tank because the car isn't warmed up) and partly due to the fact it has US gas in it at the moment and we are guessing there's less ethanol in the blend than here in Canada.

Lucylee: at least my expired document didn't cost me anything more than a time out but we've both managed to forget about expiring docs with our birthdays last month. Wonder if that's a Virgo thing!?

Back from a store run after the library. I got a roast it has been so long since I cooked one hope I have not forgotten how! Lol. I got some brotworst too, one pkg. To have for the game day. Biscuits in a can were on sale too so will try to think of something dgd & I can do with those!

Getting egg orders ready for h. To take with him to work, one more to do.

I got some knitting done, before a home work session with dgson his attitude was better so the prayers are helping it is still a challange.

Dinner is done I have rinsed the dishes.
I am loking at some free mags. From the lib. Got a new chicken one to brouse through after a tough week it's a great way to relax.

Took my camera on part of my walk and that made it
more fun.

This has been rather a busy week for dh and me. We have been out every day this week with either a dr. appointment, INR check or P.T. I'm all peopled out as Twins'Mom says! So far I've been doing all the driving; dh says he is liking being chauffeured. Our traffic is getting heavier now that the snowbirds are arriving from points north.

Lucy, so sorry you had a run-in with the law! They can be very intimidating!

Harmony, what is the name of the pattern for your dishes. I can look for cups whenever we stop at GWill, etc. I have to look for replacements for my set of Corelle which has been broken over the years. I haven't seen them in stores for a long time.

Hope Nancy, Cowinkie, Helia, Sadie and others who have colds, aches & pains, etc. are feeling better.

One of our local churches is having their annual craft show tomorrow. We look forward to this one every year as they usually have over 100 vendors or groups with tables, indoors and outside. They also have a little cafe with good food and good prices, so we can have lunch also.

Well, I'm so tired I can't remember any more of what I read, so I'll say Hello! to everyone!

Sunny, the dishes are Sheffield Elegance 502, made in Japan. Some of them say 502T, or B, or H, or M after the 502 but from looking at the pictures when I google it I can't see the difference. The cups are small squarish and the saucer has the little round circle in the middle for the cup to sit in. I don't really need it, but I don't have the gravy boat or sugar & creamer. They were made about 1960 and you can tell from the shape of some of the pieces, very retro looking. White with green leaves around with white and pink roses, and a silver rim. The ones I got today have no chips or cracks and the silver looks new!

We have a plumber coming tomorrow to fix the fawcett. DH couldn't find the right piece to rebuild the cartridge, so he called the "Man". He got them some more furnace/ac filters too. Rental property is a lot of work.

I have a long list for tomorrow.

I haven't posted much recently because I was more or less holding my breath. 2 weeks ago a house came on the market and dd2 and her dh looked at it on Sept. 30. The next day she took the 2 boys, dgd4 and I to see the house. Dgd17 and her bf met us there. It is a quad level, with 3 levels finished. The lowest one has the framework in for a bedroom and a family room. The kitchen has been totally remodeled with beautiful cabinets and stainless steel appliance. It has a bar that is at least 10 feet long. The countertops are C orian. There is a middle island with a gas cook top. The entire level that you enter on is open. It has hardwood floors. There are 2 areas to put a table. Dd2 wants to use the larger area as a sitting area with a loveseat and a chair. The house has a beautiful front door with side panels on each side and the windows have been replaced. The carpeting is new. It has a double attached garage and a double detached in the back. It has a deck with an outdoor kitchen that includes a sink and built in grill. There are 4 bedrooms, 3 baths and a living room with a brick wall that has a fireplace. It is just a super nice house and the price was ridiculously low for what you are getting. So on Oct. 2 dd2 and her dh decide to make an offer on the house. She picks up the paperwork that evening and they sign it. The next day before taking the papers and a check for $2000 to the realtor's office, dd2 called her dh and asked him if he was sure because he had offered $4500 less than the asking price. He said go ahead and take it in. They were only the 2nd people to look at it and an open house was scheduled for Sunday. They were to hear a definite answer on Friday by 5:00. Thursday afternoon dsil called dd2 and wanted to cancel the offer. Then he decided to leave it be. I think he thought they would be out bid because the 1st couple who looked at it, had looked at it again. Well their offer was accepted. So then dsil wanted to look at it again and if he didn't like it, he wanted to cancel the sale. They would have lost the earnest money.

Their realtor was out of town from last Thursday until this Wednesday night, so they weren't able to look at it again, until today. This where holding my breath came into play. If her dh didn't want the house, why didn't he just say so and not make an offer. I was not happy to think they might cancel. I know it happens but I just thought in this case, he should never have made an offer.

They are getting this house for $10000 less than we paid them for the house we live in. We need a new front door, windows replaced, carpeting and that house has all that plus garage space for 4 cars instead of 3. Dh and I have talked about us buying it if they didn't. So today they looked at it and then came over here. Dh was here. Her dh was still unsure, so I jokingly said that we would buy it and they could move back here. I was joking but they both acted like it was a possibility. This is a bigger house. Her dh had to go to the farm. Dd needed to take dgd17s vehicle to the repair shop and I had to follow her. When I got back dh and I talked about the possibility of buying that house. He said he would have to look at it, if they were serious. But dh left this afternoon for his last bike trip of 2013.

I really don't think we will end up buying it. The few negatives is it is smaller and with all the levels and we are getting older so it is probably not the best idea.

Dgd17s car problem ended up being the transmission is shot. It will be a $2500 repair bill but it would cost them more to replace it.

Tonight was a home football game. Dd2 and I were late getting there because she had to wait for her dh to get home and watch the girls. We did make it in time for the half time show and the homecoming queen and king crowning. We won 32-7. Late in the game the cheerleaders throw t-shirts into the stands. I happened to catch one. It was an X-large. A lady walked by and had 2 t-shirts and commented that they were both Medium, what was she going to do with them. I told her I had an X-large and she asked if I wanted to trade so we did. She ended up finding another person to trade the other shirt to.

Dd2 really wants and needs to get moved back to town. They like their house but not the location. Also she is wanting to downsize. She finally realizes that just because you can afford something, doesn't mean you need it. Plus the fact that the utilities in their present house are high because of all the square footage and high ceilings. Dd2 is keeping her business open until she closes for Christmas, then it will be permanent. Every month since March has been less than the month before. Her lease was up Oct. 1 but her dh wanted her to stay open thru Christmas. She was able to get a lease extension until Feb. 1. So by buying the cheaper house, they will have cheaper payments which will help them recover from the loss that the business loan will cost them. Dd2 feels terrible about the business not working out and that is why she is working part time teaching, so she will have money for the business loan. Her dh tells her she can quit teaching and stay home next year if she wants, that he can pay off the business, no big deal.

So I guess I will be busy helping her move and then help when she closes the business. That means I need to get my deep cleaning done before she needs me for that. And this is what is going on in my neck of the woods...............
