OKay you strike me as someone who follows her heart so will make the right decision for your family. Whether it is to stay or move - don't know.

When we moved here it was simply financial - we needed a bigger home and couldn't afford one in the suburb we lived in. There are certain times in your life when making the jump to a new place is easy. For us, dd was just in school but hadn't made lots and lots of friends so the time to change communities was then. We fully expected to move back when the kids were teens (they'd want independence) but the kids wanted to stay in the village and gave up independence (at least until age 17 when they could drive.)

Now they are both gone (ds was only living here for a few months because of the Australia trip) so dh and I need to make the jump now before we get too settled into this house. As hard as it is to give it up, it hurts a lot less because dh is making the jump with me - to do this on my own as a widow would be so much harder because I'd hate to leave the memories. At least I know I'll make new memories with dh wherever we go.

It was a late dinner tonight but it is now over and all cleaned up.

I still have prayers to write so need to get to that. Also to look at my list from this morning. Time for more Vitamin C, as well.

Services are finished, printed and in their binders. Children's story is good enough. There's chocolate, they won't remember anything else! My hymn book is marked with the hymns and I've gone over the anthem.

I'm done for the night.

Dh had a big sneeze and lost his voice for a moment. I'll keep praying I can get through tomorrow!

I tried the ice cream sandwich I made and it is too rich. Needs vanilla not chocolate ice cream. I'll make them up but cut them in half because my tummy still aches from the one I had. (Just realized that might be due to no gall bladder.)

Kathryn, I think that is wonderful that you could carry the mortgage on the sale of your home. From the pictures the other day, they look like a wonderful family to fill that home with love and happiness.

Kathryn, you mentioned leaving that home with your dh and not as a widow. I so agree with you about the memories, etc. Dh is on a bike trip. He left yesterday and will be back tomorrow. When he is gone, I am reminded how lonely and lost I would be without him. He is the one person in this world who depends on me, 100% and I can always count on him to be there for me. I can also count on both dds and my dm.

Okay, did you like "L ast T ango in H alifax?" I haven't watched any of them yet. I think tomorrow is the season? finale.

Tonight was the season finale of Cedar Cove. I really like that show.

Ouch, ouch, ouch Harriet's dd15. I can just imagine how terrible her db felt. That was nice of him to provide pizza.

Yesterday xsonil called to tell me he had just taken a picture in front of my house. He was afraid if I was at the kitchen sink and saw him I would think he was a creeper. Not hardly, I trust him with 3 of my grandchildren's lives and I have known him since he was 16. There was a huge hawk in the front yard and it was eating a bird. Xsil said that it just looked vicious as it was doing it. I looked out and because of the boxwoods, I was unable to see it. So I went outside to look and it flew off. All that was left was lots of feathers. Today on the other side of the driveway, there are even more feathers and part of a bird. I think it was a dove or pigeon, but I'm not sure. 2 days in a row of bird attacks.

Dd2 called early this evening. She is in the process of going thru boxes of paperwork, etc. With every move, at the last minute she takes a box and fills it with paperwork, cards, letters, etc. Those boxes never get sorted thru and they get moved every time. She decided that she is tired of doing that and wants to get thru them before the move. Last weekend she found $150.00 in cards and today, so far she had found $20.00. Dd is also going thru clothing. It is crazy just how much clothing, shoes, etc. that family of 7 has. She brought a big bag of clothes over to me. They are size 2T and 3T girls clothing. I am going to UPS them to dsisil. She has a 2 year old granddaughter and she buys the majority of her clothes. She also has a 6 year old granddaughter and she bought all of her school clothes, supplies, etc. When I told her I would be mailing these things she offered to pay the postage, but it isn't necessary. She said that someone had recently gave her a lot of nice clothes for the 6 yr old. Dsisil and her dh both give their youngest son and his wife money. They both say that if it wasn't for the little girls, they wouldn't do it, but they don't want them hungry or doing without.

Only 1 more weekend after this for the boys football games. The week after next is the little girls cheer clinic. Dgd2 is too young for it but she is just a few inches shorter than dgd4, so the cheer coach told dgd17 that she could also participate. Then they will perform at halftime of the varsity game on Oct. 25. They had been doing the cheer clinics and having them perform at just the JV game, but have switched back to varsity.

I need to head to bed but I have such a hard time going to sleep when dh is gone. Last night, it ended up being 2:30 this am before I went to bed.
