Lucylee: it does sound like a good plan.
I'm distracted.
Did get a few things done in trip preparation. Emphasis on 'few'.
Speaking of distracted, in my distraction I came across this 3x5 card bleacher.
http://www.levenger.com/Note-Cards-16/3 ... -2502.aspx
What cracks me up is that obviously this is for distractable people and this is proven in the comments. A few commented about the practicality, etc. but there a poems written by the owners as an ode to this product! Haven't seen this in reviews of products before.
I found this in response to a discussion on ways to corral all the notes I write to myself since out of sight is out of mind for me. The wall over my desk is a mess and it looks and feels cluttered but that's what works for me. The bleacher was suggested as an outrageously expensive alternative.

Re: Wristwatch Wednesday
Just got back from the podiatrist and I am allowed to put weight on my foot. I do have inserts. I need to keep the crutches with me because I was told I would need them. Basically, I can walk as long as it doesn't hurt. Practically, I didn't make it across the parking lot. But, I can make it to the office bathroom, microwave, and printer!
I am not sure of my plans for the night. What I want to do: eat at church and go to Bible study. What I may have to do: animal org board meeting. Also, I cannot find the notebook where I keep the org notes, so I can't do the minutes. Last time that happened, it was because the meeting got cancelled. I have emails out to the people who would know.

Re: Wristwatch Wednesday
I am home from trip to see dsis and to meet with staff at nursing home. Not many solutions - they say that she is permitted to smoke under patient's bill of rights even tho it might not be good for her health. (As a recap, her gait becomes much worse after smoking and she fell on Monday - no harm but they are quite concerned.) They want to move her to a room closer to the outside smoke area but she isn't sure she wants to move. I told her she had to either move or get the nicotine patch. (They aren't allowed to tell her that.) I also told her (when she had indicated she wanted to smoke) that she had to work with their PT on the gait and balance issues and we went and saw the PT and told her dsis was ready to have some PT - then she was wavering about the patch versus moving her room again, but hopefully she will go through with PT as she needs it whether she is smoking or not.
Long day - I left here at 7:45 and have been home maybe an hour? Hard to remember what time I got in - I went to vet to p/u meds for dMacs, then to CVS, where dd called and I talked to her a bit while walking around the store. (I don't like to do that, and I just looked around a bit because I didn't want to go to ck out while on phone...)
At CVS, I bought some of the ora-gel stuff for sore gums....the mouth pain is back again (had been in remission for awhile) and my mouth/gums are sore....trying to see if this will help as the long drive wasn't very pleasant.
Also have been eating weird today of course. I stopped about 1.5 hrs from home for a snack of 2 oz of cheese and some crackers and a banana, and now I'm not that hungry. I had a glass of wine to wind down a bit.
I think I posted awhile back that dh and I are going to Las Cruces NM on Friday, Nov 15 to return home on Monday 18. I don't believe anyone is in that immediate area, but wanted to throw it out. Will be a short trip to see some dfriends who relocated there this fall.

Re: Wristwatch Wednesday
Kathryn, I love the Levenger "bleachers." In fact, I love all their products. Did you see their selection of 3 x 5 cards? I love looking, but haven't found a way to justify.
And thinking ahead to tomorrow....I am meeting with rabbi in the a.m. and have a 3 p.m. meeting with a congregant and w dh. This congregant wants to direct some funds that are currently in a charitable remainder trust, and dh is raising money for a specific temple project. The congregant has already suggested that a specific amount go toward streaming our services online but there's more to allocate. Hoping this goes well, it's not the type of thing I'm used to doing.
Also want to work out tomorrow at Y, and need to weigh in after a not-so-good week for eating.
I need to walk the ddogs next. They had a short walk before I left this morning - we walked in a light rain so I could justify a short walk this morning.
This has been a loss of a day otherwise. I didn't even empty the dishwasher before I took off, and I forgot my meds and vitamins.

Re: Wristwatch Wednesday
Well there will be three SHEs in New Mexico on November 15th, but not close enough to visit! And I just realized I'm going to Texas as well on this trip. Hadn't thought about that.
I'm not functioning properly. Head is way too distracted, not sure how to get myself back on track.
I have to produce the bulletin tomorrow because the secretary is sick. Sigh....

Re: Wristwatch Wednesday
Hi everyone! Today was Odds 'n Ends day here. I puttered at little odd jobs here and there, spending a little time in various rooms getting all the hot spots cleared up.
All the clean laundry is put away.
Driveway, front porch and back porch swept.
Dining room table cleaned and fall placemats back in place.
Furniture dusted, including windowsills.
Two new trash cans purchased and filled with remaining bush trimmings.
I raked the left over leaves and twigs into a pile to be picked up tomorrow.
Kitchen counters and appliances wiped clean.
I've written a few things on a 3x5 card to work on Thurs and Fri.
Ds#2 surprised us by stopping after work today. He visited for a few minutes then mowed the front yard and trimmed the sidewalk and driveway.
I have three watches that need batteries. When I was working I wore a wristwatch all the time. It was waterproof so didn't always take it off in the shower. I haven't worn a watch regularly since I've been home. I do have a watch on a clip that is clipped to a ring on my purse and I use my phone for the time also.
Twins', I hope the PT helps your dsis. Here's hoping the ora-gel works for you also.
Helia, working with the school band is really rewarding!
Cathy, Happy Birthday to your dd. That mall sounds like it is one of your larger ones. I don't like shopping on weekends in any of our stores; they are jam packed and there is no close parking, even in handicapped spaces.
Waving hello to everyone....

I'm so glad your foot is making progress, Elizabeth. Or... ... that you are now able to make more progress on foot.. ....
I hope you feel better and better.

About that link, Kathryn,
first, too expensive to consider. I'd have to wait for the Lil lian Ver non version, lol. Hmmm... or homemade?
but second and BIGgest negative to me, I am just WAY too private a person to display all my plans as a visual like that, flagged, upright and fixed.
third, would a breeze (or pet or toddler) send them flying away?
HOWEVER, it is gratifying for sure to see 3x5s given such a central spotlight position on a desktop or counter, which they certainly merit. YAY for that. A person who could feel less private and trust her calm surroundings might use this often. Both dd and I liked the look very much, but just can't come up with uses. They say "storyboard", so perhaps for someone writing a novel? cartoon? thesis?
This is the kind of thing for which I sometimes awaken in the night with ideas, though. Hmmmm... ...
editing to say I have the C.R. Gibson competition to Levinger's "Essential Pocket Briefcase" (3x5 card holder), which I found for just a few dollars at Tuesday Morning.
As far as the Levinger cards themselves, their use seem comparable to those found at office supply stores - I use gridded ones all the time, for instance, and just add my own wording. But still, this site may be one we should add to Cardfile Central links. They really take the 3 x 5 to new heights, if their wording or particular way of gridding/forms happens to work for someone.
email today from dd15's sports class teacher apologizes for "D" that has, for a week, been displayed online as her grade so far in his class. It seems a glitch in the computer system happened when the office inputted her dental office's excuse note, giving her 16 absences
in his class instead of excusing one. (That'll teach her not to try to remember excuse notes!) She has a 98 so far instead and he was very complimentary. I don't think they are graded on ability, btw
, but on effort. She says she was especially dreadful at football recently!

Re: Wristwatch Wednesday
I only wear a wristwatch out of the house, and there are times I take my watch off in meetings for some reason. It comes off, along w rings when I get home and goes on again when I leave the house. Weird habit. When I did payroll work ring and watch came off when I sat down at my desk.

Re: Wristwatch Wednesday
I put a watch on after my shower when I think of it, which is nearly daily. If I forget, I feel "naked" without it.
But I wear it until bedtime, except when I shower, of course I'm not wearing it.
DH bought me pump lavender-vanilla hand lotion. The "tip" I heard on Dr. Oz to avoid night-time snacking is to get vanilla hand lotion, which curbs the binge-cycle appetite.
This smells wonderful, leaves my hands so soft, and although DH was a bit naughty today, I love the lotion. ♥
We're waiting for the storm to come tomorrow with 45 m. p. h. winds and heavy rains. This weekend's supposed to be cold, too. There is snow on 1 or 2 passes.
I wish I had a wristwatch with a push-button feature, which when poked, you close your eyes, then open them and ALL hot spots are clean, the house is organized and declutterd, is company clean, and perfect in every way. A SHE can wish, can't she?
