(((Sadie & DH))), Heal soon, be there for each other, I'm so sorry for your loss of a d-friend, and will pray for you and DH and your d-friend's family, too. Hang in there. Such sad news for you at such a challenging time of pain, and healing, too. Take care of yourself. All my best to you both. And prayers, too.....

DH took me out for Chinese food for an early b-day lunch because friends/neighbors come tomorrow on my b-day. We brought leftovers home, they seemed to be under new management. Our old waitresses were gone. We'd not been there in ages, they'd been there for years, so may have retired. It was excellent! :D :D

We're doing the last-minute "stuff" before friends come tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. DH vacuumed, I'm washing bathroom rugs, will do the table with new placemats and centerpiece.

I'll do the kitchen counters after dinner, after DH bakes my cake and we run the DW. Not much to do. I did tons yesterday, overdid. Although I'm stiffer today, I DID do yoga and stretches. :D I'll do more, since they help a lot, too. :!:

I got 2 more b-day cards. I was sleepy from a big meal, but coffee fixed me right up, with music playing. ;) DH is spraying fir needles off the garage slab and sidewalk, porch area. We don't need to mop bathrooms. I need to work on a story, but think I'll do it tomorrow after company comes, then submit it on Thursday by 2 p.m. I'd like to answer more letters.

It's sorta gloomy here, but it's dry, not stormy or anything. The forecast for my b-day says fogs and clouds breaking, TV said afternoon sun. On Mon. the 20th, they said it'll be sunny and 50*, which will be great for people who aren't in work or school that day. They can get some sunshine on their faces. :D

To-Do Tuesday reminds me of things I've left undone, need to do, like hang up and put away some clothes on my chair in our bedroom, make the bed better, and this week's CONGA is the bedroom. I've gone as far as to put in a microfiber cloth to dust with, but I've been concentrating on main parts of the house. I did put away magazines in a stack on a clean flat surface in my small office, so they're not great room clutter.

Have a nice Tuesday, Everyone. My best to (((Sadie))) & her DH and (((Dee & Mr. Dee))), too.

YES! DGD2 and DD are on the plane. They will land here in 5 hours and be picked up at airport by DD friend. All is well.

Today I got the key to the building where the church clothes closet is located. Hopefully DD will be able to find enough clothes to get them started.

After LO arrived home from school, I delivered the fund raising money (supporting the library) so that project is off my plate.

Dinner was smothered hamburger steaks, smashed potatoes, green beans and shortbread cookie.

Next up -
** LO homework (we are off schedule tonight....it is rarely good when homework gets OBE)
** clean up kitchen
** last LOL to the dryer

I'm so exhausted I nearly fell asleep at the table at lunch. Fortunately, we are docked under the flight path for Honolulu airport so the planes kept me from dozing off in the breeze. I'm on the balcony now with my feet up.

Was at the Ala Moana mall. Good gracious it is HUGE!!!! I ended up walking 3 miles while there.

ooooooohhhh a C17 just went overhead - so noisy compared to smaller passenger jets!

Was successful. There was a post office and a drug store so I got the postcards mailed and picked up soap. Bought sandals at Macies and will go back with dh to get him dress shoes as well.

I have to pick up his repaired shoe by 4:30 but I paid for it so if I miss that, they know to just toss the shoe, I'll never come back for it.

Got back to the ship 15 minutes before lunch stopped being served so went straight to the buffet restaurant and had a nice salad and a piece of quiche.

Now I'm resting for a little bit. Dh should be back in an hour or so and if he has the energy we'll walk up to the shoe repair together. Otherwise, I'll go on my own. The tour rep at the shuttle bus told me that dh's tour is extensive.

We hear that Tonga is under a state of a emergency so fear that port may be canceled due to storm damage. Cyclone Ian went through a couple of days ago.

I'm going to call dd now - my last chance before leaving cell coverage. She's been on my mind today.

Phoned and talked to dd for 20 minutes. There's a reason she's been on my mind so I'm glad I called. No baby news but other stuff going on. Went to call ds but checked the time there (midnight!) and stopped.

Dh should be back shortly so I'm going to rest for a little bit, I think, although refilling the vitamins could be on my to-do list. I did hang up my rain poncho to dry and put the umbrella in the bathtub.

OKay, I am relieved with you that dd and dgd are on their way!

Twins', you do have a lot on your mind. Hoping you can take one thing at a time and get it done that way. It would be nice if the incoming pres. would work with you on some of this!

Helia, your dd is extremely busy; I admire how she is able to handle it all!

Sadie, my sympathy for you and dh on the loss of your dfriend. Sending good thoughts for your continued steady improvement.

Harriet, that bank guy had a lot of nerve to give an excuse like that! I'd be thinking twice before using that branch again!

Another marathon desk day for me. Bills are paid to the end on the month and I can finally see my desk top again. Papers shredded and receipts are filed. It helped that I did not turn on tv in office; instead I played several CDs of classical music in the background, very relaxing. Wednesday is focus day, so I will be working in both bathrooms for decluttering.

Ddogs are hovering, it's time for them to go out. Then I'll read for a while!

Was not very productive this afternoon. I'm trying to be on track this evening. We ate late since dd18 got home from babysitting baby J at 7:25. S was giving flute lessons.

x dinner made
x dinner eaten
x kitchen cleaned up
x a few emails dealt with; coffee with ds tomorrow :) , lunch or a walk w/ dfriend B next week. Coffee with another friend probably next week - details still be worked out.
x all garbage cans in the house emptied. I think we have 9. New bags put in
x non-paper recycling taken to the bin
x Walgreens to pick up a script for dd18
x Cmas thank you card list made for each girl; cards set out. I'm trying to get some forward momentum on this project. It's not like there are a lot to do, just 3 or 4. (Dd15 already thanked her uncle in an email.) Ds did his before he moved back.

I'm going to work on teaching now before dd15 needs to be picked up or dh calls to chat. . . .

I am feeling tired, though. . . . .

Am so happy! :D The hats mailer to dgd's home is getting closer, as I track it on-line. Perhaps it'll reach her tomorrow! :!: I HOPE SO! :P

I stripped placements, center mat with junk on it, off the dining room table, washed mats, put them away, washed and dried the table. I put a woven reed oval tan mat in the center of the table with an oval Depression Glass open footed serving bowl or fruit bowl on the oval mat. The sofa's forest green, our accent colors are cobalt blue, and the wood on the table's dark to medium, and ALL those colors show up in the Depression Glass! DD bought the Depression Glass and 1 other small footed bowl, of the same type, at Goodwill! I'm so happy at how it dresses up my table. Oh, my goodness. I'll keep it out to show off and won't hide it inside my china cabinet now. :D DD brings the most lovely items from Goodwill. Last time she brought a black double-breasted wool hooded Style & Co. coat for me, it's roomy, fits perfect, is lined and so warm. Oh, what a DD I have! The funniest thing is how DH won't take me to Goodwill anymore, because I used to get carried away- but DD's single and SHE goes!

Am doing a load of towels up, so won't need to do laundry on my b-day. I'm getting ready to heat up leftover Chinese food. I had Teriyaki Chicken, Emperor's rice with seafood in it with soup and a chicken chow mien. The food was awesome, as always. No MSG at their place either, which is such a wonderful feature for a restaurant to have. In the lobby, they had a gluten-free menu displayed, too. Good idea!

I curled my chin-length bob today, but when we got home, since I had to keep fussing with it, DH finally admitted to me my hair looks better straight and not curled. I was so GLAD he told me! I think it was making me look older, too. I'm so GLAD we're not newlyweds, because if we were, I'd be thinking he was criticizing my hair, when he's merely complimenting how it looks better. I gave him a kiss and thanked him for telling me, too. ♥ I think men need to be shown how much they're appreciated, in a marriage. It's been 43.5 years together for us now.

I'm sorry I'm rambling so much. It's just I'm excited about tomorrow, about the hats getting to dgd maybe tomorrow, seeing her in them, in email photos, our d-friends are coming, our adult kids might phone, etc.... I need to call one special 97.5 year old BFF to tell her she can stop telling me I'm still 30 now, because she teases me about that and I tease her about her being 60 still, too. ;) She's going to be flabbergasted I made it to the 62 mark.

Helia, Sorry you weren't productive as you'd hoped to be this afternoon, but evenings are good, too. Hope you get a good rest, too.

OKay, I'm glad your DD and DGD are coming, too!

Twins', I hope the incoming president works well with you on some of this, too.

Sadie & DH, am thinking of you tonight.

Harriet, the bank guy sure doesn't sound professional. :?:

Kathryn, Glad you talked to your DD. :D

Nancy, You and I do laundry at the SAME time!

Nancy, I washed bathroom rugs today, then rinsed the machine out because of fibers, etc.. from the rugs. Now towels are washing. I'll double-check the laundry basket again to see if there's enough for another load.

I hope the hens will get interested enough to roost on the tree in their coup. :D

I ate leftover Teriyaki chicken, the fancier rice and about 2 cups of chicken chop suey. I can't "spell" anything tonight! Anyway, my waistline is bulging, I should have stopped eating sooner, but it was so delicious. I couldn't stop. Tomorrow night, DH fixes lasagna for my b-day dinner w/garlic bread and I'll have a salad on the side, with dump cake for dessert. Plan using Cool Whip on my cake, rather than ice cream, as I'm lactose-intolerant and ice cream's higher in calories. :(

We're to have fog with clouds breaking to sunshine tomorrow. There's a smog alert, so with my asthma, I'll stay indoors. I'm hoping we'll peek out to sunshine though. On Seahawks v.s. 49-er's Sunday game, it'll be 50* here with sunny afternoon, I believe they said. It won't be a storm, like the last Seahawks game was. I don't know how the men play in ice/snow/rain/wind storms. Guess I'm a wuss.

Time to go dry towels, hang some clothes up on my bedroom chair, and get out b-day clothes for tomorrow. I think I'll wear the purple infinity scarf DDIL made me, with a purple/lavender turtleneck sweater or turtleneck. She sewed material, which had ruffles on it, then she sewed and finished off a blind seam, for the back of it. It's so pretty and feminine, too. She gets ideas from Pintrest, too. One night she had windows open all over her computer screen for Pintrest baby girl ideas, when DGS-4.5 came and poked a button, so ALL the windows disappeared on her! She was so frustrated. :( Kids will be kids.

Time to dry towels, etc.... Need eye gel, too. Have a wonderful evening, Everyone. I saw a good quote today, had no pen or paper, so didn't write it down to retain it. It's at the fire station's reader board, so I'll see if I can get up there again, to copy it down. It was inspirational. This is a good place to post it. :D
