Hello everyone. It was a little warmer here today, but cloudy. I thought maybe it was going to rain, but it didn't.
Today was errand day for us. Dh had PT this morning, then we went to W-M for groceries. Back home I put groceries away, then both dh and I had a short nap. Since then I cleaned out a lot of emails, put some clean clothes away, had supper and cleaned up the kitchen. Tomorrow is trash pick up, so trash collected and dh brought the two large gallon bags of leaves I raked out front.
Harmony...that is strange. Is there someone you can talk to to find out who this guy is? Keep your car/house doors locked! It will be a relief when dh can come home!
Ivy... I hope your new meds work quickly. Sadie... nice to see you are still continuing to improve.
WTG, OKay... on the decluttering spree!
Wonder how Twins' Mom & dh are doing?
Church...even though we watch every week online, it still is not the same as being there in person!
I must have eaten something in the last few days that disagreed with my tummy!
Going to go lay down now, watch PBS and sing along with the oldies songs....waving to everyone.
Start by doing what's necessary, then what's possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible. --- Francis of Assisi
Printed off a couple of the missing reports and will get the last two easy trading accounts tomorrow.
I've been thinking of OKay and how she's finally caught up and needs to do 11 pieces a day in order to keep that way. As much as I hate being so far behind, there is something to say for batching this work. For instance, in each of the retirement trading accounts there are monthly transactions that I get really fast entering as I do month after month of the same ones. In the smaller accounts, there are only 10 entries to be made each month so I start to know them and my fingers fly over the keyboard doing the entries. If I had to tackle this each month, I'd not have that repetition working in my favour, each entry would be unique since the accounts are all different.
The final one (the one I put off until the end) is more complicated, with pages and pages of transactions each month, but the rest just have 1 - 2 pages for each month so batching makes sense.
Maybe, I'm just rationalizing....
Anyway, I'm done with sitting for the day and back to moving around. I should be doing housework of some sort but would rather hang out on the internet so have compromised by being on the treadmill. I certainly need to get more steps in because I know I overate tonight.
Sunny, I know what position this strange guy holds in the Home. I am going to check on him. I was told previously the guy who held this position was no longer there and I heard an awful story about him. I do not know that guy's name. I am going to check on that as I know this guy's name. Perhaps my funny feeling comes from knowing about the first guy, suspecting or concerned that he is back...
Went to my church meeting. Thank heavens it wasn't a complicated meeting as sometimes I can hardly keep up taking notes. I don't think I would have been up to that tonight.
I have spent almost 2 hours straightening out stuff at my desk tonight. I had to hunt receipts and bring my ledger up to date. Things are in a bit of a mess and I haven't yet closed out Feb. even though I started several times. Kathryn, I can almost "see" you working on yours.
It has been a crazy day for me today. First, and early am call from the X asking me to take DD12 to choir practice, because he had an unexpected meeting called. Then a morning art class, during which I got a call about a cat crisis, which I will need to manage. Fast lunch, followed by tax appointment. For the first time in years, I escaped with no homework! I was able to get the whole thing done right there. After that, I came home and grabbed the list of who I wanted to vote for in the local elections. I decided to walk to and from the polling place, so I got some exercise in. I had a little time between events, so I used it to do tree and weed removal in my yard. When I filled up the trash can with that, I folded some LOLs. Then, it was on to DD12's band concert. This time both X and other woman were there. I needed to talk to X, so had to sit with them. The OW told me about some job openings in her department and promised to email me the details. (Does she really want me in the same department? They are still on their 'be nice to Elizabeth' phase. What DO they want?) DD decided to spend the night with me, she is in bed now.
There were 4 different events going on this evening! I missed the church pancake dinner, the school book fair, and a friend's business open house. But I can only be in one place at a time, and that was DD's concert.
What I still need to do tonight: eat a snack, crochet enough to figure out if I need another ball of yarn, catch up on email reading, email someone about cat crisis, and cook DD's lunch for tomorrow.
The friend that I thought was calling last night about adopting kittens was actually calling for advice on a stray she had taken in. The bad news is that she won't be adopting my foster kittens, the good news is that one more cat is off the streets. I am wearing the jeans that had the chemical smell. They no longer smell, but the Skunk Away mixture did fade the color some.
Tomorrow's essentials: drop off DD's clothes bag, call school to chaperone band trip and other volunteer stuff, file unemployment claim, transfer money, arrange to get some cat records to an adopter, not forget the Ash Wednesday church service.
ETA: It has taken forever, but I have caught up on my emails. Apparently, I was mistaken about having returned the overdue book. I have renewed it, but I still must find it and return it. One more thing on my to do list. It is possible I put it in the car to return, but never actually did it.
