Storms are coming so I helped dh get a load of garbage from the shed and garage down to the road.

Had lunch.

Answered a business email.

Made an eye appointment. My eye doctor is out here so I combined it with a meeting I have the same day to lessen the driving from the city. I really need my eyes checked because I am finding driving at night hard and reading my computer screen hard at times. It feels like my 'sweet spot' for viewing things is getting smaller and smaller. Of course, on the computer you can make the print larger but that means less of the webpage shows and sometimes I miss things.

Since it is garbage day tomorrow, dh and I will work on the pantry cupboard next. I suspect it will generate some garbage!

Yes, it's stormy here too, Kathryn. Just saw dh drive by in his rain gear. :| And it's chilly as well. Heater's been going all day. Dh has decided he just can't go with me to our 'raisin' the roof' spaghetti dinner at church. Wants me to go for dinner, bring him take-out & buy some things from the bake sale. One gal always makes DELICIOUS apple pie. Will buy one for the dessert auction here tomorrow night (proceeds go to the fireworks fund & it's always fun.)

Just had a 'hankering' for a peanut butter & jam sandwich. Gave into that and just finished one. ;)

Wonder how dd is making out with gd15 being home -at least part of the week. She's staying (I understand anyway) with dd's teacher friend's family during the school week. Though this week has been sprinkled with doctor appointments so gd can get her meds. Sure am hoping and praying for an opening soon at the group home.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

(((Kathryn))), Moving's stressful, music moves us to tears, especially when it's a song having to do with a passed away loved one.

I got hit with tears in the dental hygienist chair 1 year, when a song, "The Wind Beneath my Wings," came on over the speaker in the ceiling. I sobbed like a baby, was so embarrassed, but she got me a box of tissues, left me alone about 4 full minutes, to compose myself. When she got back, we talked about my dbro a bit & I felt so much closer to her. They'd played that song at dbro's funeral. About 700 people attended, too. It was a 2-story open funeral home, with standing room only, after all the chairs were filled. He passed on Christmas Eve several years ago at 36. Heart attacks. Finally gave out, but donated organs, which was wonderful. Oh, I miss him.

I went to bed at midnight & woke up at 7 a.m., so I'm dragging. I did my "Pre-Conga" on Thursday & today's my Conga, but I'm so exhausted now, am wondering if I'll get anything done? :?: Last week, I did a 90-min. Conga on Friday & a few things on the weekend. So this week's idea was if I did a 90-min. pre-Conga on Thurs., my 90-min. Friday Conga would REALLY get the house in good shape. Also, I thought if I worked Thurs., I'd feel better on Fri., working so I wouldn't get as tired. In other words, I had the idea to break up the Conga into 2-days of work, rather than just 1 day. But now I'm wondering what in the world am I thinking????  Maybe if I get in a bit of a nap, I'll get more energy. Haven't showered yet. Wrote DD another letter, then a pal who's gma-in-law died, then they had all sorts of bad things happen, flooding, etc.. in their home. I wrote her, too, with business ideas, because she's trying to earn extra $$ & keep busy, using a pen pal type of business. My ideas were:

1- If she crochets, knits, sews, cross-stitches, make cards or something, she can get them done & put ads into pen pal newsletters & give ads to her pen pals.
2- She could start her own pen pal newsletter, get subscribers from her own pen pals & put ads into pen pal newsletters.
3- She could do what a gal does, I knew once. She bought stickers, cards/envelopes, computer stationery, & she bought them on sale & perhaps in bulk. She had 2 pkgs., which were $15 & $25. She posted them priority mail & I was VERY satisfied.
4- I told her about a pen pal Sunshine Friends' Club, I belong to for $5/year. You get a newsletter with all members' names, their holidays they want recognized, their name, address, b-day, & each month, you get a list of who's birthday's coming up. Sunshine Friends send cards to people, like Valentines on Valentine's Day or Get Well Cards or Thinking of You cards. The editor also updates prayer requests, illnesses, & deaths with thank you's from members.

So I threw out some ideas to my pal, also telling her about our list of 15 things, which went wrong last spring until this past late winter, for us: The washer/dryer, refrigerator, & TV all had to be replaced. The truck needed to be repaired, the pump, we had to replace a broken glass master bathroom shower door, I needed to pay out-of-pocket for 2 crowns, & medications got me into a doughnut hole, where I was paying 50%/50% on meds, but not to worry! Don't have THAT "problem" this year with my new ins. plan. So told her I understand bad luck, we just put 1 foot in front of the other, moved on & slowly are paying everything off, & save to pay for my crowns. I need 2 replaced, possibly 3. Also, told her about DH's retiree friends passing away & a close dfriend had a stroke. I wanted her to know she's not alone. I hope I was able to help her with the bad luck story of our own, which is actually laughable because so many things went wrong & I hope the business ideas help her, too. She wants to do something to keep busy & not be a huge money maker. Many wants a new venture, having to do with pen palling.

I'm so tired, have not done s2s yet, but did scans, read obits, & am writing my "cousin-friend," now. She's DH's 2nd cousin, but she's my FRIEND. I love her like a sister. I'd better get back to her letter. Maybe it'll go out today? :?: I hope to get energy going to baby-step a Conga today, too. With DH here, he can help, too. :) :)

Happy Conga Friday today, Everybody!

Just zipping through at warp speed.

Got through most everything this morning - I got the report done and got to the temple at 11:30. Nice meeting there and my report was more than adequate, then talked with dsecretary there for awhile. She has an uncle for which she has caretaking duties, and he collapsed last night and is the the hospital and on ventilator. Talked for awhile about issues with him - very similar to what I went through with dsis, so I will hopefully be able to help her some there. She has a good heart, regardless of her occasional carelessness. Easier for me to say now that I don't have to depend on her as much. :?

Body work - I feel balanced, straight up and down.

I've started challah for tonight and am heading out with receipt for console that we're returning. Need to take care of that and stop and grocery then back home to cook shabbas dinner.

I hope our summer schedule gets in a "groove" ASAP. It started out chaotic this morning and then smoothed out when I set up timer (15 minutes) and activities listed on 3x5" cards for LO.

After lunch I took LO to his best friends home for a playdate. This was our first time being in their home so I wasn't prepared for the 4 wheeler. When we arrived LO asked me if he could ride his best friend 4 wheeler, I assumed it was a battery operated one so I agreed to it. NOPE. It was gas powered 4 wheeler. AFter putting chest protector & motorcycle type helmet on, then receiving about 3 minutes of instruction from friends Mom (this makes it go fast, this is the brake, etc)...then LO took off by himself and drove the 4 wheeler as if he had been doing it all his life. The mom did have a remote control switch to turn 4 wheeler off if LO got into trouble or went too fast, so that gave me some sort of confidence and I wasn't nervous. If I had time to think about it, I probably would have been!

I emptied out the pantry cupboard, sorted out the expired food, packed a fair bit of it and packed up other things in there. Moved one set of shelves over and then put back the boxes I've packed. Did 7 for in there and another 2 in the main room. So that's 9 done, just by me. Dh worked all that time on our cable collection - video, audio, phone, network and assorted accessories and got it down to a sorted pile that fits in a 6 drawer tower of plastic drawers (on wheels.) Not sure where it will go in the new place. Originally it was to go in the office closet but dh wants to put his work bench in there.

Dh has cooked a delicious smelling dinner and we are about to eat.

Dh left at 7 am for his 5 day motorcycle trip. There was a chance of rain between here and there but that did not stop him.

I bought groceries this am. Then dd2 and I went out for lunch. After that we went to one of the nurseries. I didn't buy anything but plan to go back tomorrow afternoon. Then we went to H D so she could buy a high table and 2 chair set to put on the large front covered cement area. Their house is L shaped and the door is in the corner, so their is plenty of room for outdoor furniture there.

After that I came home and emptied the dw and put a few things in there and handwashed the rest. I washed a load of jeans and hung them up to dry. Now I have a load of towels washing.

I have packed a bag, so that I can spend the night at dd2s with the 3 girls. Dd2 is picking up snacks at the store, plus salads from W endy's so that we can eat whenever. The little girls love salads and I knew that they would be having snacks later, so a salad seemed the best option. The little girls have some new movies, so hopefully they will be happy. Their parents have never left them overnight, so this is a big deal, especially to dgd4.

I bought a swimsuit and a cover-up yesterday. It has been at least 25 years since I have had or needed a swimsuit. Dd2 said the pool man is suppose to come next week between Wednesday and Friday to put on the new electric, locking cover and open the pool for the season.

Dsil came home at 2 this afternoon and wanted to head out then. Dd2 told him she wanted to go later. They will be going to the casino for the first time and it has been open for probably 4 years. The food is wonderful there. Dd2 told him that if they run out of money, they can go to a late movie. He always falls asleep at the movies. Today is their anniversary and they are both looking forward to this mini mini trip.

Well I better head to their house..............
