Dgson & dgd were pretend sword fighting with pvc pipe they call mini marshmallow shooters dgson is at an apt. Dds for chipped tooth sigh. It happened this weekend not here thankfully.

Back home after a nice day out with dh. I am so glad we can really enjoy each other's company on these outings. We are both like excited kids - a nice feeling. Every once in a while the weight of the unsold home hits, but most of the time we are walking on air.
Bikes were dropped off, picked up a local newspaper for our new neighbourhood and looked through that, noting new construction and new walking path that just opened, had a nice lunch and visit with the chip wagon lady, dh got his hair cut (he looks much better) and my bangs were trimmed - yay! From there we hit a grocery store for milk and salad and picked up other things as well. I took a stroll down the 'things' aisle and found a black slotted spoon for $1 and some black dish clothes and towels on clearance so grabbed them.
Picked up the mail by car which turned out to be a good thing since the new waterbed mattress has arrived. It is now in the car and will stay there until Thursday.
Dinner is in the crockpot since this morning so the house smells good and I won't have to think what to have in a couple of hours. Plus more meat is gone from the freezer!
Bought myself real flowers for the last viewing of the house (Saturday but they are mums so will last) and will pack away my silk daffodils.
I'm having a 'life is good' day.

I'm having a 'life is good' day.
Your post made me happy, Kathryn. 
I'm at the coffee shop. Dd16 (feels SO weird to type that!) is at her oboe lesson.
I made some progress today, but it is going so slowly, I'm not sure how we'll be ready to leave by noon tomorrow. I think 1 pm is the absolute latest we should leave. I did:
- reclaim the kitchen; it was pretty bad
- go to the bank
- hand off the band uniform stuff to the mom who is going to head up the returns on Friday in my absence
- picked up dd15 from school
- do a lot of emails: checking with YFU director re: GG and our upcoming trip to Hawaii (she is fine with her staying with S and R), checking with YFU director re: a make up orientation session for GG who missed the last one, emailed GG's mom about the Hawaii trip, question to band director re: when exactly he wants the parents there on Friday, details re: dropping off band stuff to the above mentioned Mom, Thursday dinner crew - letting them know what is going on, small group - letting them know what is going on, dd18's small group parents re: get together they're planning that might overlap with dd18's Univ. orientation, friend re: moms group teaching team meeting I will miss on Thursday, one of the pastors re: the care team for another church member which he thinks I've been asked to be on and I had no idea I'd been asked. . . 
Probably some other little details. Goodness, emails can take up a lot of time - and these aren't even payroll emails.
I'm going to update my todo list in my notebook for before we leave. Still need to go to Trader Joes, Walgreens, and the library. Still need to do laundry for myself and the family. Still need to fold 2 loads of sheets. Still need to pack for myself. Still need to check on paperwork for the car that we're taking; I think it is all in the car - but would like to confirm.
Good news: dh finally connected with the brick guy and talked over possibilities, including bricking over the entire top part of our driveway. Which would cost 
. Our asphalt driveway is becoming more and more wavy, which is also what is happening to the brick areas. Dh would love for the entire driveway to be brick eventually. At least it sounds like the walkways will get fixed this summer. And garden guy will be here to do more garden clean up for us on Thursday.
Off to my notebook now.

Elizabeth, the $4,000 was the whole year's imaginary budget for all vehicle expenses including gas, insurance, tax/title/tag and maintenance. So money for the vehicle itself dwindled low! I'm thinking this was one of the teacher's purposes in so much comparison of banks in other parts of the project. Dd chose a Ranger truck from a trading magazine site, having learned that the big name used car places had way too expensive late-model inventories. I don't remember the specifics, but she turned in a copy of the truck's web page and the Kelley Blue Book comparisons.
lucylee, glad you are back and the trip sounds fun. Hope dgs feels better soon.

Ddil called -- so excited -- they got tickets to Antiques Roadshow next week when it comes to Birmingham. She was making sure we could keep dgs that day before she put it on Facebook. LOL. I told her the day was fine so... there IS joy in Mudville... Young Married Couple have a fun day to themselves to look forward to.

It is just me here for now.
Raining a bit for our Tues. Raindrops. I have the last of the laundry in the dryer now. Got the trash can to fit in the carport after moving the bbq to the patio om under the eves. Cookie dough is mixed up.
The tree logs are gone dd took them for their wood stove
They had their utility trailer so that worked out great.
Thought of trying to makemup some home made pizza pockets next time dgd is here.

Hello, Ladies! 
This is just a quick C. I. for now.
Dee, Is a round robin where you clean each room around the house once, then do it again, and again until you're hopefully all done? Am curious because some pen pals are in letter round robins, but I have no "clue" what they are either.
I called my dentist, go later this week, for x-rays, on an old-old crown that's about 15 - 20 years or more, old. 
I'll know more after I see him & will know what he wants to do. Am thinking of either a new crown or root canal. But DH said we cannot afford BOTH at the same time. We're only budgeted for 1 thing, 1 tooth, at this time, being as we need to pay cash.
Went to Walmart, got a Hello Kitty tablet, some kitchen yarns for BFF's Christmas crochet project & for some kitchen mats for us, then some yarn for dgd's Granny butterfly afghan. Glad to find a variegated for edging, with several colors, which are in the afghan. Will be a nice contrast.
It's sunny, I'm doing laundry, but have 4 prs. of jeans on a 3-hour delay while DH runs the DW. He mowed, because tomorrow afternoon will be T-storms & heavy rains. The lawn looks great.
Saw a bunny in the early morning hours, chasing a pair of squirrels chasing each other. Was so funny! 
Am tired from all the Walmart shopping & doing laundry since I got home. Did read snail mail, so will try to answer it next.

The pile of stuff ds wants is growing larger as we get closer to the move. Surprisingly he wants the Hyperion computer if his sister doesn't. (You can google it - dh was head of software engineering, I worked in marketing and that's how we met as we brought the first IBM compatible portable computer to market.)
We just cleared off the paint shelves, leaving everything that is matched to this house, putting aside some spray paint for dd and dsil, and saving the painting equipment in case we have to paint the house in order to sell it. Dh is convinced it will be sold by our move, I'm not and this is causing 'words' between us since we are now working at cross purposes.
I did the laundry room cupboard and split up the car wash stuff to leave some for ds. Gave dd all our bug killing spray (figure she'll need it) as well as some duplicates of cleaning things.
Dh is on his conference call so I'll start work on cleaning up the kitchen.

Ivy, as I do it and I think Okay and others: a round robin is however many minutes you want to make it -doing just that many minutes in each room (or specific rooms if you so choose). Since I only have 5 "areas" here -living, dining, kitchen, bath & bedroom- it only takes me about 15 minutes to do a 3-minute round robin. I can get things pretty straight in that time. Obviously I don't do deep cleaning in that time, but it gets things presentable. I usually have already made the bed and sometimes it's hard trying to find something for 3 minutes. I still have plenty to do in our bedroom/bath.

Dee, Thanks for the explanation! 
I'll use that! I think I'll write down each room in the house, then do 10 min. in each room, mark an "X" on the list, then have at it again. It's something that makes housekeeping more fun.
Some things, I used to do, when DD & Dson lived at home, were in school all day & DH was at work, to break up monotony of housework were:
1- Timer tidy = set the timer, then tidy & go-go-go, & when the timer stops, sit down & do something fun-to-me to do.
2- 100 Count = every single thing I did, counted for 1 numeral. Put dirty clothes in utility room basket = 1, start lol = 2, dump trash = 3, so I kept counting "things" until I hit 100, then sat down to do something fun.
3- Pick up & put away 15 things, on & off....
4- Write a to do list on notebook paper,with a vertical fold, the must-do's go on the left, the fun-to-do's go on the right, then take turns back & forth, doing the must do's AND the fun-to-do's.
5- The reward system: Do something I really hated doing, then go do something fun.
Anyway, there are all sorts of fun ways to make housework less of a "job" or "drudgery" by using one's imagination. I think the round robin idea is so great. 
Also, if I did it to a timer, stayed on my feet, I could count it as activity, burning calories, in my Calorie King book. Thanks for the tip, Dee.
It looks like T-storms are going to happen tonight, by the looks of the sky, so I'm going to shut down the laptop early tonight. Tomorrow's forecast for T-Storms, too. I'll wait until the threat's gone, before coming on-line. So Everyone, have a good evening and a Great Wednesday, too! It's Desk Day AND Anti-procrastination Day for me, so I'll try to get the office straightened up again & work on something I've been procrastinating on.
