With all this rain we are getting, it is really bringing home the fact that we need guttering. When the guy comes to collect the money for the doors and windows, we are going to have him give us an estimate for guttering, plus covering the soffit and fascia. The guy who does all his work is German Mennonite. The first day he brought his wife to be his helper. The second day he brought his 9 and 11 yr old sons. They all speak perfect English but speak German when talking to each other. I talked to the boys and they said they really enjoy going to work with their dad and that they learn a lot from him. They were so well behaved. I noticed last night that there are numerous scuffs to the wall below the dining room window. I had noticed some in my bath but wasn't concerned since eventually that bathroom will be remodeled. I am sure they are from the tool belt the guy had on. I wasn't happy about them because I hate scuffed up walls but when dh asked if I was going to complain to the sales rep, I told him no. I can get more paint and touch those areas up.

Yesterday dh removed the remainder of the 4 tiles in front of the door. This area is 10 x 24 and all tiled. There were 2 tiles in the middle cracked and then along the front edge the tiles there were loose. So all of that it now removed. There was a box with 4 full tiles in the garage. They were bought at H ome D epot but they don't make them anymore. I am sure that we can find some that are a near match. Afterall no 2 pieces of ceramic tile match. The 2 tiles in the middle were cracked because the cement under them is cracked. Dh will have to fill the crack before he can re-lay the tile. He had intended to replace the loose tiles at the front edge but had not gotten to it. With 4 out at the doorway, he could no longer put it off. Dh told me that we need to always squeegee off the rain and sweep or scoop off the snow, to keep this problem from getting worse. I thought we did do a good job of that but will work harder at it.

I can't imagine that they will have the ballgame tonight but if they do, I am going to volunteer to watch the girls. They don't need to be out in the cold, damp air.

The boys are with their dad this week. Dd2 is getting impatient to get their new pool cover on and the pool opened for the summer.

Dd1 is working thru 4 weeks of summer school. Between that and visiting her dmil, she has been really busy.

Saturday I went with dd1 and dgd17 for a tour of the local historic hotel. That is the last time tours are being given until the restoration is complete. We were really glad that we went.

Still haven't showered............It is raining out and cold, so in no big hurry to leave home.

Nice to see you posting here again, Lilac!

I've had lunch, responded to an email. put something on my calendar, looked up a couple recipes, made a groc. list. I'm going to get the groc. store run finished. Then, I can stay at home to finish the a.m. routine, do laundry, vacuum, prep guest room - though dd16 has a few things in there to tidy, but it's not awful. Well, I can stay at home until I go pick up the girls in less than 2 hours.

Just a quick C. I. as cannot CUOP properly this a.m.

Don't feel 100%, am "wondering" if I picked up a "bug" at the Dr. office on Friday. :?:

DH is getting firewood, I'll declutter office files at the eating bar for 1 hour, to get my 1-hour declutter on offices done today. Friday's my last day on the offices.

s2s before DH, got my moisturizer and eyebrows on, fixed hair and earrings, am dressed. Just don't feel good. Goingto watch the Mariners and Tampa Bay Rays play baseball, while filing. Can see TV from the eating bar, so will do 2 things at once.

Why can't men multitask? :?: :?:

Have a GR8 moving Monday! Everyone! :D

I used my **fun & free** time to go to local plant sale. I brought home a variety (20+) herb plants and a concrete bird bath to put into the garden.

Lunch prep is done. Brisket, beans & rice, green salad is ready to serve when DH arrives.

Saturday I did a huge ($400) Sam's shopping trip to stock up the pantry, freezer, refrig. When I arrived home I immediately processed the 10lb of ground beef and 10lbs of ground turkey (mixed together & cooked) and put it into freezer in meal size portions. I have 10lbs of sliced boneless pork loin marinating that I need to put on the grill this afternoon before freezing in meal size portions. I tried a newly opened local meat store for the beef steaks. Those steaks were priced from $6.99 (sirloin) to $11.49 (ribeye) a lb. Meat prices seem to be going up fast! Those quickly put a dent in the food budget.

I just finished txting (aka talking) DGS17 into attending play with me next weekend. Man of La Mancha is being performed at nearby town theater. Neither one of us has ever been so it will get us "out of our box".

The movers were done in 5 hours, including the delivery of the piano. I cried when it left the house and a bit at CM's but I'm very happy she has it. It looks very much at home there (it is an Anglican Vicarage, as was my grandfather's home where I first met the piano.)

We'll see them tomorrow. Need to think of something to make them tomorrow.

Choir practice has been cancelled (one of the boys is home with a fever so CM can't leave the house.) That means dh and I are free to do what we want. I'm having a pulled-pork sandwich and resting for a moment. Also drinking water before Harriet has to tell me to drink some!

phewwww...........

I bee tired ;-)

Me and the spin mop just finished singing, dancing and mopping our way around the house.....now its time for a break. Haven't had breakfast so I guess lunch will be early.

Sweetie just came in asking if I brought any pie home from last night...nope, those people polished those two pies lickity split. Think Sweetie is sorely disappointed. I have enough to make another one for him, so will do it in a day or so.

Laughing over Mr. Guy's Hot Mama comment. Ya only have to be around the two of them for just a short matter of time to see that even after 32 (?) years he is still clearly madly in love with Miss Norma...as he sometimes likes to call her. Course Miss Norma is easy for anyone to love ;-)

Geesh, I'm hungry...gotta get something to eat before I start working on this office. Hope I don't fade away when I sit down... BBL

Glad to hear you haven't been fired yet Kathryn LOL

I filed for 20 minutes, ran across writing, and submitted 3 poems to the Blue Mountain Arts poetry contest on-line. Now I'm ready to submit a short essay I found in my files. I doubt if I can finish my filing job at this rate, if I take breaks to submit! I'm a Side-Tracked Home Executive all right! :!:

It's still overcast here, showers come tomorrow, on the Mariners v. s. Rays game there was a loud clap of thunder there.

Don't need to do laundry, put more stuff into the ARC donation. Might not do housework today, except toilets & trash. Just feel cruddy with this cold/allergy bug. I kicked up dust in the small office yesterday/last night, while working. Maybe my files are old, smelly, and cause allergies? :?: Honestly, I don't know what it is. It's almost as though I'm next to a fragrant bush or scented candle and I can't make out where that would be coming from, unless it's from dusting or I got a bug at the Dr. on Friday.

Kathryn , I'm so proud of you and Ken and all your hard work. You're a positive role model and example for us all. :D

Waving to everyone! :)

It has been cloudy here today and as I walked around the yard with ddogs a few minutes ago there are dark clouds coming and thunder just south of us.

Dh and I had a busier weekend than we've had the past few weeks. Friday he had another appointment with cardio dr. for an ultrasound. Just routine test, the last one was three years ago.

Saturday ds#1 brought dgkids for the afternoon and evening. It was a nice visit. We gave dgd17 her birthday card and sang the birthday song to her. Dh and ds watched a movie, dgsons played wii and dgd17 and I visited. She helped me clean up kitchen from dinner then she showed me some of the short stories she's been writing.

Sunday was ds#2's 40th birthday. Every long once in a while we go out to eat with them instead of having dinner at home. Dh and I decided that since ds takes care of our lawn most of the time and pays our way to some of the school band functions that Sunday would be our treat. I gave him his b'day card after we had ordered our dinners and the waitress happened to see. She asked if it was someone's birthday, so he got dessert free! Anyway, we had a nice visit with them, also. Dgd19 has finished her first year at St. Petersburg College and did very well with all A's. She's still working at the hospital, part time (only on as needed basis) and wants to get another part time job for the summer. School is out here in our county now and dgd12 got A's in all her classes also.

I was glad to see that both Lilac and OKay have had rain over the last few days. I hope the dry cycle is breaking.

Dee...thinking about your dgd and her dguardianfamily on their way to summer home and hoping this is the beginning of a new positive experience for her!
Lilac...it is nice to see you again. Dh and I will leave on June 25 for visit to dfam#3. Ddil#2 said she would be happy to take us to airport that day. You've had a lot happening in your dfam lately. Hope dd2's house sells quickly.
Kathryn...hope your move is going smoothly today.
Twins...I'm glad you enjoyed the festival.

I was going to do a lol - sheets and towels - but not with thunder I hear now. I think I'll catch up on some desk stuff and reading. It's darker here now and thunder is close......
