More art has gone up and I finally got the ship's clock hung in the kitchen. The kitchen is so bright we often can't read the microwave, stereo or stove displays so having a 'real' clock face in there is helpful. We also got the thermostat display of paintings up. I had 4 matching (color/style not size) mats & frames and took a poor painting out of one of them, cut the backing, assembled it without the glass and put it over the ugly thermostat with FunTak. Now the other three paintings are up as a grouping. One of the others covers a cover over an old sconce mount (and a painting on the other side of that wall covers the second sconce cover) and so now the end wall of the dining room, the one you see when you are in the living room, looks much less industrial and patched.

I vacuumed L/R, D/R and kitchen, repaired the scratch that ended up in the middle of the L/R floor (something hard under a box of paintings I slid across the room), put away the off-season paintings and packed up the surplus packing supplies and garbage. So the L/R and D/R are looking much better now. There are still paintings that need to be removed from their frames. I don't want them up mostly because the framing is ugly and they are repetitive themes, but I can't bear to toss them. The plan is to set up a rotating picture box, using the shadow box we broke the glass from, mount it on the wall and use velcro on the back of the paintings to mount them in the box.

I still haven't finished (or really started) the service for Sunday. I checked the email from the church secretary and Thursday is my deadline.

Dh is having a nap. I'm tired so may nap as well, but in my chair.

Paperwork still needs to be handled as well as mail. Lots and lots of mail.

:D I got a phone call from NYC about work, talked and walked 90-minutes and am so happy about my future. :P I had the most wonderful conversation.

I've made the bed from scratch with fresh sheets.
I did 3 LOL and it's all folded/hung and put away.

I'll sort the mail, when DH gets in from the woods. The neighbor's getting the load today, will drive DH past the mailbox, home, so he'll probably bring the mail- if it's been delivered.

I need to s2s, because I got all sweaty from walking so much, doing LOL, making the bed.

I'll eat a healthy lunch with some protein in it, take a short rest, and then will work on stories. A writer's work is never done. :!: :P 8-) :D

Kathryn, It's nice the art's going up and the ship's clock, too. :)

Nancy, It's great you got your biking in, too. :)

Twins' Mom, You're on a roll! 8-) So productive! :!:

RamblinRose, Sorry about your rough night. :o I hope it's a better night for you two tonight. :)

Harriet, Your Lantana sounds pretty. :)

I took my Peak Flow Meter Reading about 10 a.m. and it was way up to 370 Points, which is great because 400 Points is perfect for me. I was a smoker for many years, so I usually average between 340-370 Points. I'm glad I'm smoke-free for about 18 years now, too. :!: I smoked on and off since teenage years. I was "so stupid". Now I have asthma, have dry-form age-related macular degeneration, which could both have been brought on my smoking. I was a fool, so totally "addicted" to nicotine and Dmil, when she was alive, read that a nicotine addiction was just an equal to a heroin addiction. Strong! :x  Well, those days are O-V-E-R and I try to be as healthy as I can be now.

It's 12:17 p.m. PST and DH still isn't back. He started out at 8 a.m. and there are 3 men working together. So where is he? :?: It's killing me to not be able to tell him about my business call! HE'LL be so happy for me, too. :D

I'll run and eat lunch now. I'm starving. I ate yogurt at 5:35 a.m. and I've walked at least 90 minutes, did LOL, made the bed, so I'm a hungry gal. :!:

Have a Super Afternoon, Everybody! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Hello, villagers ~
Busy-busy weekend so now I am catching up on posts for a few days.

Did anyone see any of the Christmas in July movies on Hallmark channel last week? I watched a couple of them, very sweet.

FelineFriend ~ Toddler-proofing your house, it looks like you were well-prepared for them.

Lucylee ~ Remember when you were worried about dgs not talking?

LadyMaverick ~ I love my atomic clock in the kitchen. It makes it so easy to set all our clocks and my watch by that one after each time change. It's also nice when the electricity goes out, as long as we keep a spare battery around in case that one runs out.

Nancy ~ Happy hens :) Glad they did fine while you were away. Looks like you had a nice break camping/kayaking.

CI: Sewing group meetings Saturday morning, hmm least said the better. :|
DH drove up with me yesterday evening to visit DMom. She was in a very good mood and quite chatty. The drive is an hour each way, so DH and I had plenty of time to listen to some funny podcasts.
Today I am doing the Monday catch up.

Trying to envision this.

Kathryn and Ken have a grouping of 4 frames up: artwork, artwork, artwork, thermostat. :| Sure. I can see that. Industrial art. If you ever chose to use a larger frame, you could draw a mandala out from the thermostat and call it "Central Air".

Here, Harriet, I posted pictures for you over in Arts and Crafts.

http://shesorganized.org/phpbb/viewtopi ... 69#p109569

The Jello/gatorade popsicle was very, very, good. Glad I made 8 of them! Had one of those and jello because I was feeling hungry. The popsicle helped, the jello didn't. I'm now having green tea.

BTW: I weighed myself before having anything to eat or drink this morning. A little, personal, science experiment to check the veracity of those cleansing diets. If I lost 8 pounds I'd be thrilled. I figure I'll be lucky if I lose 3.

Quick ci:

(((BIG HUGS))) for RR & Willis... hope he's feeling MUCH, MUCH better before you have to leave!!!

Again... nothing much accomplished here, but I did s/s the "guest" bath in case anyone has to use it tonight...
Bible reading
Walked 2 miles -- and it is HOT out there!
S2S

Need to call dmom and REMIND her of ddil's bday party tonight...

FF -- check my last post from last night (Sunday) to find a picture of the piercing. Harriet, so true... about hair being worrisome in it, (ddil has long straight hair), and about it being good that it can easily be forgotten and hidden * unlike tattoos * if/when she grows out of this phase. She said she had ALWAYS wanted this and her parents wouldn't let her get it in high school -- so she got an eyebrow ring? -- so she was determined to get it for herself now. smh... (She had removed and forgotten about the eyebrow ring by the time we met her. DS said he thought she had it when he met her, though.)

We're about to go to Wmart & the bank, and then I've got to wrap the present.

Must read that link about lists. Y'all know how I love a list. (I'm not being smart-alecky, if you're new to our village. I really DO love a list. I'm not much of a worker, but I sure do love writing it all down.)

Kathryn, both dd and I like that wall. Colors of mats are especially pretty. Dd says to tell you she doesn't think anyone will notice a thing unusual about the grouping until you go over to adjust the painting.

BookSaver, isn't it nice to ride around with the dh? Hmmm... ... sorry to hear the sewing group meeting was a least-said-the-better experience.

FFriend that is exceptional news. Happy for you about future-thoughts.

Heavy shower had me running out to bring in the hanging basket. Actually had to change shirts - a real downpour.
